The committee recommended that Rabbi Chai Posner be appointed senior rabbi effective January 2022 as part of a transitional succession plan, under which Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg would serve as rabbi-in-residence from 2022 through 2025. As rabbi-in-residence, Rabbi Wohlberg will continue to serve as a valuable resource and ensure continuity by officiating at lifecycle events as needed, delivering sermons during the High Holidays and periodically on Shabbat. During that period, Rabbi Posner will take on the full range of responsibilities of senior rabbi, while continuing to be mentored and assisted by Rabbi Wohlberg. The recommendation of the Rabbinic Search Committee to appoint Rabbi Chai Posner as senior rabbi of Beth Tfiloh has been unanimously approved by the Religious Services Committee, Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors. Pursuant to the Congregation’s by-laws, the recommendation must be approved at a special meeting of the Congregation. This meeting will take place on SUNDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 8, 2019. All Beth Tfiloh Congregation members in good standing will be invited to this special meeting to vote on this historic recommendation.
