Bulletin THE BETH TFILOH
Celebrating the Joy of Judaism, Embracing all Jews. TEVET-SHEVAT 5779 JANUARY 2019
Memorable Milestones: A BT Bat Mitzvah As BT celebrates a record number of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs in the 2019 calendar year, Bat Mitzvah girls and their families are availing themselves of a number of meaningful options for marking and personalizing this important milestone. Girls have various opportunities to both individualize the service, and find meaning in the day. A typical BT Bat Mitzvah takes place on Shabbat morning, with girls reading from the Torah or chanting a selected Haftarah. The Bat Mitzvah gives a D'var Torah, after working with Mrs. Janet Weisenfreund to polish its delivery. Each girl is assigned an individual Bat Mitzvah tutor. This year's tutors have been Rabbi Chaim Wecker, Rabbanit Bracha Jaffe, and Stan Lustman.
