HOMECOMING WEEKEND 2023 Joinusfor
Greetings Alumni & Friends,
Autumn. A wonderful time of year everywhere, and nowhere more than Bethany, West Virginia.
Leaves on the trees will change colors. Footballs will be flying through the air. Cool mornings, warm sunny days (well except for last year on Saturday!). A great time to get in the spirit of homecoming.
This year’s theme – yes, there is a theme – is “Country Roads Taking Me Home.” I think we all can get into that spirit. Wear your green and white; the online college bookstore has plenty to order if your closet is empty! Break out those cowboy hats and boots – we know you have them!
Every fall, we feature the most treasured events from prior Homecoming weekends while sprinkling in new or improved ones as well. This year will be no different. The traditional Art Show will become a full-blown charity event with faculty, students, and alumni being given the chance to display their creativity, with an option to sell their wares to raise money for the Fine Arts Department. A Black Student Union reception will be held for the first time. The Tiger Joyce Golf Outing, now underwritten by Main Street Bank, will be Friday morning at Highland Springs and will accommodate many more golfers than last year. And the former Alumni Awards Dinner is being tweaked to welcome everyone to a fun, more casual kick off to the weekend Friday evening with music, entertainment, and a casual buffet dinner.
One more thing remains the same is our commitment to provide a wonderful experience for everyone who attends all or any part of the Weekend. Don’t forget to share your photos by using our hashtag - #BisonHomecoming2023. Our team is looking forward to seeing everyone September 29 – October 1.
