Get Ready to Roll Bison By now you have survived a pandemic, a college search, and a virtual end to your senior year. Before you know it, you will be packing your bags for rural West Virginia. At this time, Bethany College has every intention of resuming normal operations and in-person classes on campus. We will continue to monitor all state and federal guidelines and implement recommendations to the best of our ability. More details will be forthcoming from student services regarding individual student move-in days and times.

THE RESPONSE TO COVID-19 The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff has informed every action we have taken to date and will continue to guide us as we look ahead to the new academic year. Bethany College thrives as a residential community, and we are hopeful that the fall semester will begin to look and feel more like Bethany did before the pandemic. We will continue to focus on the health and well-being of the entire Bethany community as we plan ahead.

Bethany’s natural environment lends itself beautifully to the effective maintenance of social distancing. Our idyllic, less-populated location in West Virginia, combined with our small classrooms and 10:1 student-faculty ratio, makes our setting and setup perfect for learning and overall student well-being.

Coming August 2021 CAMP BELL Camp Bell is the official start of your time at Bethany College. Camp Bell is a collaborative, immersive, and interactive experience to familiarize students with the culture and environment of Bethany College and the traditions of the liberal arts. It is designed to meet those objectives through activities such as poetry workshops, intercultural activities and demonstrations from World Languages faculty, 3D printing, nature walks, pottery throwing, and yoga and meditation. Cabin assignments are given at check-in.

Move in day will be here before you know it! Going from high school to college can be a big transition. Not living with your family, managing your time, and adjusting to a new environment can be hard at first. Here are some quick tips that our students have found helpful over the years: Talk to your roommate(s) ahead of time!

Come up with a plan of who is bringing what for your room so you don’t end up with multiple floor rugs and no TV!

During Camp Bell, take some time to find your classrooms for your fall semester classes.

Nothing is worse than not being able to find Old Main 201 on the first day of class!

Use a planner.

One major difference between high school and college is the amount of free time you will have. It is SO helpful to plan out your days by writing them down. You can schedule out what time you have class, what time you have practice, what time you plan to study……and maybe what time you plan to take a nap?

Don’t be afraid to get creative in Ogden Dining Hall!

There are so many different food options and you can create some pretty awesome meals by a little thinking outside of the box.

Just say hello.

Your incoming freshman class has students coming from 18 different states and 8 international countries! Everyone will be a little nervous. A simple hello can go a long way and be the start of a lot of new friendships!

Did we say unlimited dining?

Students have the option of not only the Ogden Dining Hall but also The HUB. Bethany offers unlimited dining in Ogden and $100 per semester at The HUB.

No need to worry about tracking meals, swipes, or dollars in Ogden! This is where students will eat most meals and with a huge variety of foods to choose from, students can always find something delicious to eat. Some staples that are always available include: fresh pizza, pasta, sandwiches, soups, and a salad bar.

If something quick and easy is tempting your taste buds, The HUB is the place. A variety of Starbucks coffee and drink selections as well as ready-to-eat sandwiches and sides on the go are available daily.

New students must make sure that they have financial aid verification complete, loans processed, and payment plans set-up prior to arriving to campus.

Bethany College uses an automated verification solution called ProVerify powered by ProEducation Solutions.

Getting financial aid in place will make the billing process much smoother for our students and their families. The office of student financial services is responsible for billing and invoicing tuition, fees, room, and board for Bethany College. We offer online access to your account and electronic invoicing, and we also have installment plan options and online payments. Billing statements will be mailed to all registered students approximately one month prior to the start of the semester.

How do I get a

SCHEDULE? A Transition Advisors Group (TAG) member will reach out via email and/or by phone to discuss your current interests, activities, future goals, and possible majors. Advisors will work with you to set your fall semester schedule and get you on your way to freshman year. New students are assigned a TAG advisor soon after depositing. If you do not hear from your advisor by July 1, 2021, please contact your enrollment counselor for more information.
