ChurCh Based awards

NEW Disciples of Christ Scholarship: Upon recommendation of Admission and the Scholarship Committee, two students who are active members of the Disciple of Christ Church will receive a full tuition scholarship award. These scholarships are renewed for each year of a student’s full-time continuous enrollment at Bethany as long as the student meets satisfactory academic progress requirements. Failure to enroll at Bethany as a full-time student for two consecutive terms will result in the loss of this award. Requirements: Recipients of the Disciples of Christ Scholarship must be full-time, residential freshmen or transfer students who are active congregation members of the Disciples of Christ Church. Students should provide confirmation of their membership by submitting a letter to the Office of Financial Aid from their pastor or youth pastor. This letter must be received before July 1, 2025. Recipients will serve as Presidential Student Ambassadors for each of the four years they receive this award. This includes, but is not limited to, attending social events coordinated through the President’s office and representing Bethany College at various campus events, church events, and campus tours. DOC Scholars are required to live on campus. Disciples of Christ Scholarships cannot be combined with other institutional merit awards nor exceed tuition and fees with any other institutional award. All institutional awards are included in the 100% Bethany need grant calculations.

Ministries (HELM) Leadership

Fellows: An opportunity for students with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), to network with each other, to encounter innovative and inspiring leaders, to prepare themselves for leadership in rapidly and radically changing religious environment, and to add additional value to their undergraduate educations. Along with the other benefits, fellows will receive a scholarship.

The Phillips University Legacy Scholars Program: The legacy program assists undergraduate students who attend or wish to attend any of the 17 colleges and universities affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Students are awarded annual renewable tuition scholarships of up to $5,000, based upon academic achievements and leadership in their church, community, and academic environments.

Bethany College overview

Bethany College is a four-year private liberal arts institution with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Bethany also provides students with various faith-based opportunities outside of the classroom. The Dean of the Chapel serves as a mentor for students as they engage in religious leadership activities,
