ABOUT BETHANY COLLEGE

Bethany College, founded in 1840, is the oldest private college in West Virginia. The Bethany experience focuses on academic excellence in the area of liberal arts and prepares future leaders for a lifetime of work and a life of significance.

Our campus is located on 1,300 beautiful acres in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, just one mile from Pennsylvania and five miles from Ohio. Bethany is served by Pittsburgh International Airport, just 45 minutes from campus. The College is located 39 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, 22 miles from Washington, Pa., and 14 miles from Wheeling.

Student Opportunities

We invest in you and your education. That’s why we offer opportunities to immerse yourself in your field outside the classroom. As a student in the economics program, you can join the economics club, which explores various aspects of economics while building your peer and faculty relationships. We also encourage you to pursue an internship during your time at Bethany. These experiences give you hands-on experience in your field while building a strong resume. Past student internships have included J.P. Morgan, Mass Mutual, PNC Bank, University of Pittsburgh Sports Camps, and Walt Disney World.

Graduate Accomplishments

Our alumni have departed campus with the knowledge to lead advanced careers in the economics world. We have mentored data analysts, decision scientists, business analysts, and financial engineers. Recent graduates have used their knowledge to take on broader roles in sports analytics, law, and data science. Within our program, you will have career versatility–and the ability to choose a profession that interests you.
