CRIMINAL JUSTICE

Bethany College’s criminal justice program is designed to prepare you for an impactful career. Students can choose a major or minor and complete a generalist model of study, providing a strong foundation across key areas of the field. Graduates are ready to pursue careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation, parole, and security, or continue to graduate or professional school.

ABOUT BETHANY COLLEGE

Bethany College, founded in 1840, is the oldest private college in West Virginia. The Bethany experience focuses on academic excellence in the area of liberal arts and prepares future leaders for a lifetime of work and a life of significance.

Our campus is located on 1,300 beautiful acres in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, just one mile from Pennsylvania and five miles from Ohio. Bethany is served by Pittsburgh International Airport, just 45 minutes from campus. The College is located 39 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, 22 miles from Washington, Pa., and 14 miles from Wheeling.

Student Opportunities

The Social Awareness Club, open to any student, focuses on campus-wide programming to raise awareness of social issues. You’ll have the chance to step beyond the classroom and gain practical experience through field internships. These hands-on placements allow you to explore the daily realities of criminal justice work while building valuable skills and professional connections.

You might find yourself working alongside officers in a police department, supporting probation services, or gaining insight into operations at detention centers or correctional institutions.
