Summer has arrived and with that we know that construction on area roads increases. Commerce isn’t just visiting your favorite stores, but the roads that transport you there. This month we’re highlighting the Carlisle Borough Connectivity Project that is currently under construction in the Borough of Carlisle.

The project is underway to reconfigure the current intersection of Carlisle Springs Road and North Hanover Street so it is realigned to a 90-degree angle that will then be signalized. The other part of the project is to construct a 5-point roundabout at the intersection of North Hanover Street, West and East Penn Streets, and Fairground Avenue. The roundabout will go in a counter-clockwise direction, similar to the roundabout constructed at North College and B Streets.
Belvedere Professional Center
As of this writing, Fairground Avenue between West Penn Street and the railroad tracks is closed on the weekdays from 7 AM to 4 PM. The road closure will be in place as long as it needs to be so the work can be completed safely. Fortunately, that work on Fairground Avenue is part of the final phase of the Carlisle Connectivity Project. The aim is to have the connectivity project completed by end of 2025. And lastly, as we talk about transportation updates, Cumberland County is doing a transportation survey for the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) update.
