Hello from the Student Affairs Office!

I was once a student sitting in the same classrooms you will be in starting in August. I graduated from Bethany in 2014 with a degree in Psychology.

I was very involved in campus life when I was a student at Bethany. I was a peer minister, Resident Advisor, a member of the Alpha Delta Zeta Sorority and president of SAB. I was fully immersed in college life and shortly after graduation, made a career out of it!

There is great value and the opportunity for personal growth when YOU become involved in activities in addition to classroom learning. We want to see YOU have as many positive experiences as possible on campus that lead to wonderful memories and future resume boosters.

There is so much at Bethany for YOU to be involved in/look forward to:

• We have around 20 student clubs and organizations that YOU can join, from Student Government to Bethany Lifting and Fitness, to Newtonians Society and so many more!

• The Student Activities Board (known as SAB on campus) hosts several events each month that are sure to keep YOU engaged and excited for the next one.

• Residence Life and Intramurals also host several events each month to get students connected with others across campus.

• Gregory Hall was recently renovated and will be open to students for the fall of 2023. It will have double, single and triple room options. We are excited about the upgrades and the community that will be built there.

There is so much for YOU to get involved in on campus and I highly encourage YOU to step out of your comfort zone and try something new! We have new organizations being formed by Bethany students each semester, so if there isn’t an organization your interested in joining, reach out to me about creating one!

Please email me at peterstk@bethanylb.edu if you have any questions and we’ll do our best to help.

See you in AUGUST!

VÄLKOMMEN WEEKEND ACTIVITIES Välkommen to Lindsborg!

(Välkommen is Swedish for “Welcome”)

August 18-22 will be a busy few days for our new students. Check-in for any non-preseason freshman will be the morning of Friday, August 18, and Välkommen Weekend events start off that evening with Playfair! Playfair is a great Bethany Tradition; you’ll get to meet your new classmates in a fun and interactive way.

Saturday, August 19, you will be busy getting to know and visit the Lindsborg community

Sunday, August 20, you’ll have time to go to a local church and then hear from several presenters in the afternoon ending with a night at the pool (bring your swim suit) and a South Park Block Party!

We are really looking forward to Monday, August 21, where students can learn about on campus employment, get a tour of their classrooms, and Orientation Bingo.

Tuesday, August 22, Chat with upper-class students at the Involvement Fair where you can join a club or organization!

You will also have time to pick up your textbooks and just relax before classes begin on Wednesday, August 23! Our Välkommen Leaders (upper-class students) are eagerly awaiting your arrival and can’t wait to “show you the ropes” during Välkommen Weekend! A full schedule of events will be handed out during check-in on August 18!
