He is a 1976 graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.
He has (36) years experience in wealth planning strategies, including wealth accumulation, executive benefits, qualified retirement plans, safe haven investing and charitable giving solutions. He also has extensive training in exit strategies for closely held business owners. He also brings to his clients a solutions focused model for problem solving and implementation.
His financial career began in 1979 with Principal Financial Group, specializing in total financial services, executive benefits, estate planning and business succession planning. As a Senior Financial Advisor, he developed a specialty working with closely held business owners and private practitioners. The (22) years with this premier financial institution was absolutely invaluable training and exposure for launching The Quan Company.
In 2010 The Quan Company added corporate business development to its service offerings. This value added service was an added dimension based on trusted relationships with executives and business owners of the private and public sector. .


Quan is a former gubernatorial appointee of the board of trustees of the College Foundation, Inc. He is member and the immediate past president of the Board of Directors of North Carolina Central University Foundation, Inc. He is immediate past president of Uplift Project Inc. (UPI). UPI is the 501 C (3) non-profit arm for the Beta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
He is a past board member of Visions, Inc. in Boston, MA; a diversity and inclusion consulting firm providing solutions for Fortune 500 companies and the education, healthcare and government sectors. He was Vice Chair of the Minority Advisory Committee (MAC) for WTVD/ABC11 located in Durham, NC that has a viewing area that spans 23 counties. He is a former president of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (Durham) and former chair of the Economic Development Committee for North Carolina and South Carolina.
Quan is a member of St Joseph’s AME Church, where he a member of the board of trustees and chair of the technology committee. He is also a member of the strategic planning committee and the male chorus.
He is married to G. Faye Tate Williams from Burlington, NC and they reside in Hillsborough, NC.
