This month we’re introducing you to the Tremonte Family: Kellyann (Kelly) and John and their four young children. The Tremontes have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. Not only did they just welcome baby number four, but they were also finally able to move into their Broomall home that was destroyed in a fi re in 2020.
Perhaps you don’t know the Tremontes personally, but you may remember hearing about the house fire in Broomall back in July of 2020. The fire occurred just as Kelly and John were finishing up some renovations and about to move into John’s childhood home. When asked how a family can handle such a setback, the Tremontes were quick to say how much their Broomall friends and neighbors came through for them.
Before the fire, Kelly and John were living in a two-bedroom home in Broomall and were excited to move over to Sonia Lane. Not only was it the home John grew up in, but it was the perfect size for their growing family.
John lived in Broomall his entire life with his parents and sister and graduated from Marple Newtown High School in 2004. During high school, John was on the football and wrestling teams. After he graduated, he went on to study business at West Chester University and found a job working at Giant.
Meanwhile, Kelly had just finished high school when her parents and brother and sister moved from Folcroft to the Marple Newtown area. Kelly graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill. During her junior and senior years she was enrolled in a Vo-Tech Computer Maintenance program in Aston. She had perfect attendance, which earned her the car that students in the automotive school built. During her time at Prendie, Kelly was also active in the theater program and acted in the school plays all four years.

After high school Kelly studied at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology and graduated in 2005. Kelly also started working at Giant, and she’s been there ever since. Kelly said she loves interacting with her customers, especially seeing them outside of work. “People come up to me and say they know me from somewhere,” she said. “We always come to the same conclusion: it’s Giant!” But, it’s not just the customers that make her job special; she is also so thankful for her Giant coworkers.
Giant is also the place where Kelly and John met. “I like to joke that not only was I a year older than him but, as the frontend supervisor at the time, I was also his boss,” Kelly said. Eventually, John started a new job at Servpro, a cleaning and restoration company. He still works there today and spends most of his days traveling around Montgomery and Delaware County to see customers.
When Kelly and John were first dating, they had a lot of fun cooking together and had a huge garden with vegetables. They also enjoyed plenty of date nights and loved going on weekend getaways. In 2011, they were married at St. Anastasia Parish followed by a reception at the Mendenhall Inn. “It was a fabulous wedding,” Kelly and John both said. “We had a live band and were surrounded by family and friends.” After the wedding the couple traveled to Hawaii for a beautiful honeymoon where they got to swim with turtles and visit Pearl Harbor. “We said that we wanted to go back for our ten-year anniversary,” said Kelly. “But four kids later, the trip will have to wait!”
After the fire in 2020, Kelly and John and their three kids moved in with Kelly’s parents, who still live in Newtown Square. Eventually, they were able to move into a spacious local apartment while they waited for their home to be restored. Finally, this September they were able to move back into their home on Sonia Lane… just in time to welcome Natalie, their fourth child. At two months old, Natalie loves cuddles, eating and hanging with her mom all day.

The Tremonte children (L-R): Mary Jane, Joseph and Danny Trremonte
Natalie has three older siblings to dote on her: Joseph, Daniel, and Mary Jane. Joseph is a friendly first-grader at Worrall who loves sports, legos and video games. He plays baseball, football and CYO basketball for St. Anastasia.
Their son Daniel (Danny) is a friendly five-year-old who loves hugs. Born with a rare genetic disorder called Tetrasomy 18P, Daniel attends a full-day special education program at Russell Elementary where he receives occupational, speech and physical therapy. Kelly said the resources Daniel receives have been great and he’s had a fantastic year so far.
Next up in the family is 3-year-old Mary Jane. Mary Jane attends daycare and loves to sing, dance and play with her Barbies.
As their older kids are now starting to play local sports, the Tremontes are spending a lot more time at the local fields. John especially loves watching sports and taking the boys to sports events and gardening. Kelly spends her free time crafting and baking.

The Tremont Family
During the pandemic Kelly began making and selling hot chocolate bombs, chocolate spheres filled with cocoa and marshmallows that seemed to be all the rage last year.
Eventually Kelly created a separate Facebook page called “Hot Chocolate Bombs By Kelly” and was selling about 60 a week. This fall she added new “make your own Halloween chocolate bomb kits,” which were a big hit.
Kelly has already started taking orders for hot chocolate bombs for the upcoming holiday season. Aside from filling these orders, Kelly said she will also be busy getting ready to entertain this Christmas. “We are planning on hosting everything this year!” she said. Considering all that they’ve been through this past year and a half, there will be nothing sweeter for this family than to be home for the holidays!
