The 2026 Friendship Walk Social Story
On Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, I am going to participate in the Best
Buddies
Friendship Walk
at Fitzpatrick Stadium!
There will be new and familiar people at Friendship Walk who are all part of different Best Buddies groups.ADJ will be playing music, too. Everyone will be celebrating together!
When I arrive to the Friendship Walk, I will sign in at the registration table.After, I will walk down to the track and look for my school sign. I will wait at my sign until the walk begins
There will be a lot of people having fun at the Friendship Walk. I can be safe by staying with my group and keeping my hands to myself.
While I am waiting for the Opening Ceremonies to start, I will not go up on the stage.This is where the Best Buddies leaders will be presenting!
After Opening Ceremonies, people will clap and cheer. We will walk two loops around the track.
If it gets too loud or if I get overwhelmed, I know that I can go to a quiet space, school team area, or the sensory tent with a trusted friend for some quiet time.
After we finish our walk, there will be other things to do! I can get a snack or drink, go on a bike ride with Portland Wheelers, dance to some music, or even get my face painted!
At 12:00pm, the Friendship Walk will be over. I will safely find my way home with the people I came with.
