Programs that we have found to be effective

• Welcome Back to School - An event before thenew school year begins. Establish a presence, along with PTA to informparents, build momentum and collect Family and Family Figure contact information.

• Dads Walk Your Child to School - Beginningof theSchool Year, a state wide event that is well publicized. Great opportunity to promote the Pizza Nightand begin encouraging Dads to be Present!

• Dads & Kids Pizza Night - After theschool year has started,a fun kick-off eventdesignedto get Fathers and Father figures engaged with their children.

• Princess Tea - After theschool year has started, a fun kick-off event designed to getMoms engaged with their children.

• Read2Win - An award-winning program, started in Dallas/Fort Worth by a coalition of churches and supported by volunteers from their congregations. Theprimary emphasis is on ensuring that all 1st grade students arereading at gradelevel by theend of 1st grade.

• Parent University - Support in design, promotion and delivery of workshops and classesin topics of interest to parents.

• Dads Club - A family and community engagement model, the purpose of which is to highlight theimportanceto schools of Men and Women of being present and being involved. Regularly occurring breakfasts offer theopportunity for men and women to be present on campus with their children in a programdesigned to reinforce that connection. Recognizing that how a dad,mom or parent figure makes that connection differs as children getolder, theprogramis different for EarlyLearning, Elementary, Middle and High School environments. Although the method may vary, the importance of a strongrelationship isnoless importantin High School than in Elementary School.

• Donuts with Dad - Generally a January event, Donuts with Dad is a fun event designed to reestablish themomentum for theDads Club program.

• Dads Reading Team - Dads volunteering to read in theclassroom to students. Typically a weekly or monthly commitment for about 45 minutes.

• Climate and Culture - Typically programs thatfocus attention on positive outcomes around attendanceand behavior. Includes opportunities to bepresenton campus as monitors.

• Lunch Pals - A simple yet powerful programthat allows young scholars to spend quality timewith a caring adult. Our goal is to provide qualified volunteers who are willingto make a difference in the life of a young person.

• Learning Academy - Through collaboration with qualified before and after school centers, provide qualified and vetted volunteers to assist in theeducation of students in attendance.

• Millionaire’s Club - A Middle School programto work with Principal-designated rising 6th graders. By using principles of money and finance, the Millionaire’s Club canreplace negative influences with positive, life changing attitudes, behaviors and knowledge.

Volunteers for these programs come from our schools themselves, from churches, businesses and the local community. As needed, we come alongside strategic partners to equip, engage and encourage volunteers.
