We kept on walking...

... until under the Corcovado’s gaze

we could go no further,

... to St. Barths

we stopped putting everything on hold until we heard the call of the wild and followed it...

... to the Kalahari the bushmen lead the way,

... to the Skeleton Coast our adventure had only just begun...

and up we went

... to the Serengeti

... we followed the migration tracks

... through the carved passages

... to Petra we wondered how anything could compare.

On we travelled, sailing the Indian Ocean

... to the Maldives

... to Sri Lanka, where we followed the tea trails of Ceylon

but we were still thirsty for adventure...

so we wandered past the Taj Mahal

and floated in a palace of white marble

... to Udaipur.

We lived our dreams as we climbed

... to the Himalayas

... to Bhutan

stopping in Mutianyu,

... to walk the Great Wall.

Inspired by the dancing Apsara we continued

... to Angkor Wat.

Then we followed the limestone cliffs

‌ to Halong Bay.

Through the rainforests of Borneo, where the orang-utans live.

Then over and up...

... to Mount Kinabalu

... to the outback

and back again

... to French Polynesia we found paradise.

... to Provence.

We realised our journey was nearly over.

Content and complete we took our last turn

... to Tuscany and up,

through Europe’s finest cities...

... to Florence... to Venice.

... until finally we found ourselves on a snow dipped mountain under the bluest of skies
