Celebrating her Journey and her Legacy
Judymae Nesbitt (nee Munroe) was born in the quaint settlement of Stafford Creek Andros, on October 24th 1950, to the late Spellman Munroe and Arimentha Wallace (nee Bauld).
Judymae attended Our Lady’s Catholic School in Nassau, Bahamas where she spent her early tender childhood years before migrating to Grand Bahama Island, where she completed Junior High School.
Judymae was an ambitious woman, who believed in the scripture Genesis 3:19, “By the sweat of your brow, you will eat bread.” She sought employment at the Atlantic Beach Hotel as a waitress doing what she loved best, offering her “Servitude” to others. She later sought employment at the famous Jack Tar Hotel as a sales clerk, where she developed many lifelong friendships, including Mrs. Charlotte Ferguson, who taught her the ins and outs of being the best in the waitress industry. Judymae’s capacity to create and maintain deep, loving connections with others was a testament to her beautiful yet stern spirit.
Judy met and fell in love with the late Randolph Nesbitt from Old Bight, Cat Island and the couple was united in Holy Matrimony on June 30th, 1976. Their union was filled with love, respect and mutual admiration. From this bond of love they produced six children. She was a wonderful wife, a godly woman, an amazing chef, a hat designer and dressmaker wearing her creations gracefully. She was a strong woman of God, a powerful intercessor, but most of all a fighter and the true definition of a warrior.
A Woman of Character
Proverbs 31:30 describes her in it’s entirety, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Judymae’s love for the Lord was strong, profound and unwavering. She consistently praised God’s goodness and proclaimed His greatness throughout her life. Her life is a testament to God’s unwavering love, marked by her unwavering faith, boundless love and enduring strength. Throughout her life, she was a pillar of faith and source of light to her children and her church. Her compassion and kindness were a reflection of her relationship with Jesus Christ. Even during her illness, she exhibited remarkable grace and fortitude. She faced her trials, with a faith that never wavered, always trusting Gods plan. Her resilience and positive spirit was an inspiration to all that crossed her path.

Special Tributes to Our Beloved

My dearest mother, who was an inspiring soul to all who came into contact with her. Her home was open to all and her hospitality made them feel important. She was the most kindhearted, humble, loving, compassionate, understanding, familyoriented woman of God, and a mighty intercessor. I am going to miss you. You were my most precious gift from God, with so much beauty, grace, and love. A true woman of virtue and honor, so deserving of Praise. Your life touched me even on dark days, your strength and smile made me realize that I had an angel by my side. There's no goodbye for you and I, for I’ll carry you forever in my heart. Take your rest until we meet again.

To my mother, a strong warrior, a no-nonsense kind of a woman; one who was always there to be a shoulder to lean on. To the world you were one person, but to me you were my world. You taught me love patience and endurance, but most of all to keep God first and center of everything. Mommy, you were the truest and rarest amongst them all. I could not have asked God for a better fitting mother than you. Facing life after today is going to be very unmanageable, not seeing or even hearing your voice. I do know one thing though, that you are resting sweetly in the arms of your Savior, whom you shared and talked about daily. So rest on mummy until we meet again. I love you always.

I truly never learned what the words “I miss you” were until I reached for your hand, and it was not there. The days are long, but the months move fast. Missing you every second, how long does that last? Sometimes in life there are losses, losses that can never really be replaced. Losing you has been the hardest thing I've ever had to live

with. I was not ready to say goodbye and I am still not ready to let you go. I would give anything for just one more day with you, but I have learned to trust in unconditional love, because the one profound thing about death is that love never dies. Some bonds cannot be broken, because even though you are not physically here, your heart is, it lives within me. I carry your heart inside mine; I carry it on days when I discover something new. I carry it on days when beauty unfolds in the most unexpected places. I will find comfort in knowing that you are still with me. My dearest Mother, you left so soon, leaving behind a heartache that makes me swoon. Your absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, and a pain that will never be stilled. I remember the way you used to smile; it could light up the darkest of miles. I remember the way you used to care; it was something that we could always share. A Tribute to My Beloved Grandmother
Ma, you were the heart of the family, your warmth and kindness enveloped everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. Your home was a haven of comfort and joy, where the aroma of your delicious cooking always welcomed us; and your stories brightened even the darkest day. Even in the face of your illness, your strength and grace were unyielding. You faced each day with a courage that was nothing short of inspiring, your unwavering faith in God, even during the toughest times was a testament to your incredible spirit. You showed me what it means to be truly resilient, to hold onto hope, and to trust in God.


Your warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love shaped me in countless ways. Every memory we shared is a treasure I will hold onto forever. One of my most cherished memories is how we would always end our phone calls. No matter what, as we said, "talk later” you’d always follow up with “I love you” and I would respond,” too much Grammy” too much love”. It was “our thing” and those words will stay with me and be a constant reminder of the incredible bond we shared.
Grammy, your absence leaves a void that can never be filled. But I take comfort in knowing that you are now at peace, free from pain, and in the loving arms of the Lord. My Grammy
In this life you were so many things: A wife, mommy, sister, aunty, cousin, but to me you were Grammy. Your legacy will live on because you kept our family together and ensured that we formed relationships and bonds, which you prayed we kept and stayed together. Most of all, you emphasized to us the importance of forming a relationship with Christ. The warm smile that lit your face when I visited and the caring conversations we shared will definitely be missed. In all your pain, when you could barely speak some days, you would always ask how your Grammy and mother is. You knew my concern for you on my face, but you always held my hand and assured me that you would be alright. As I watched you fight with your health, I couldn't think of anyone with greater strength than you. Your faith and ability to smile through the pain always amazed me. Grammy, now the battle is over, you can now take your rest. Your memories will live on in us. I wish that I had more time but that will be selfish of me. Thank you for your daily prayers, love and concern. Grammy, I hope I made you proud. I pray that your soul rests in eternal peace.

My Auntie
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered “come to me.” With a tearful heart I saw you slipping away, and although I love you dearly, I could not make you stay. Your memories will forever be in my heart, your last few words to me, “Live for God; serve Him with all your heart Trena He is coming. You know just what to do.” Aunty Judy, your words will not fall on deaf ears, I love you forever.

You were the one who held his hand, when his life had just begun, the one who taught him everything, who raised such a loving son.
You were the Mother he turned to, with his questions and his fears, the person who was always there, to guide him through the years. I am the one who took his hand, to walk with him in life, the one you lovingly embraced, and welcomed as his wife.
I am the one who is grateful now, for the job that you have done, blessed with a wonderful husband, the man that you call “Your Son”. Rest in peace.

Your absence has left an emptiness that can never be filled. We long for your warm hugs, your soothing voice, and the way you made us feel cherished and safe. Your words of wisdom were like a compass, always guiding us in the right direction. Even though our hearts ache, we hold tight to the lessons you taught us and the incredible love you bestowed upon us.
But you know what, Ma? Even though we can't see you or hear your voice, we can still feel your spirit all around us. We see traces of you in the vibrant colors of nature, in the gentle breeze that brushes our cheeks, and in the stars that twinkle above us at night. It's in these signs that we find solace, knowing that you watch over us from up above.
