Bernay Fine Art is pleased to present The Birds and the Bs, our spring show that will open on Saturday April 1st, 2023.
The work on display by the five talented artists provides an unprecedented depiction of nature; birds, bees and other creatures come to life before our eyes.
Stephanie Anderson’s graphite drawings are hyper realistic, crisp representations of animals and flora. Her scenes are so detailed and elaborate that it often takes several examinations to reveal all the hidden creatures within the drawings.
Mike Glier’s landscapes reflect his love for paint and abstraction. Glier enjoys plein air painting but takes his work to another level by introducing abstraction into the work, complete with fresh color combinations and rhythmic arrangements.
Sabrina Marques uses storytelling to explore memory, place, and politics. Her work reflects her personal history employing magical realism and anthropomorphized creatures within surreal, invented landscapes.
In Phil Knoll’s new owl series, the artist gives each bird a distinct personality. These large drawings are black and white, realistic, and attached onto panel.
Hunt Slonem’s Neo-Expressionist paintings and prints are of bunnies, butterflies, and tropical birds. The artist describes his life and work as “exotica”, with paintings jarring in color with a repetitive mantra.
