"Taking Shape" – A New Exhibition at Bernay Fine Art in Great Barrington, Massachusetts Bernay Fine Art is proud to announce our new art exhibition, "Taking Shape," which promises to be a captivating exploration of contemporary art. Featuring an eclectic blend of mixed media and paintings by five distinguished artists—Karin Schaefer, Deborah Zlotsky, Conny Goelz Schmitt, Gina Occhiogrosso and Jason Middlebrook. Karin and Deborah paint layered canvases exploring both shape and color. The work invites the viewer into the space and surrounds them with a pleasing environment. Each of Karin’s work has a particular geometry, textured surface, and subtle shifts in color that provide for an engrossing atmosphere. Deborah’s pieces are also inviting. Her colors often vibrate and balance one another perfectly. Gina, like Karin and Deborah, uses shapes and colors but also uses textures to create her mixed media pieces. Conny’s unique wall pieces are made of vintage book covers. In her work, she plays with deconstruction, reconstruction and changing dimensionality. Finally, Jason uses unique techniques to create three-dimensional wood constructions that invite his viewers to reflect on nature as a work of art. "Taking Shape" is a feast for the senses, offering visitors an opportunity to engage with contemporary art in a meaningful and immersive way. Bernay Fine Art is excited to share this enriching experience with the Berkshire art community and beyond. "Taking Shape" will be on display from October 28th to December 10th, 2023.
