BGYB - EPISODE 37

Page 1

Yachting in Style with Peace of Mind

The Yacht Market Overview

As BGYB enters the summer season, we look back on a successful winter 2025/26. Our fleet, team, and presence at key events continue to expand, and we are pleased to welcome 3 new partners: Jean-Marie Vidal for Switzerland, Xavier Bouin for Dubai, and George Kontovassilis for Greece. All support BGYB in reinforcing our international presence, making a successful 2026 possible. We look forward with confidence to the opportunities that the remainder of 2026 will bring.

Sales

Our Sales Team looks back on 2025 as a particularly successful year, highlighted by the exhibition of eight impressive yachts at the Palma Yacht Show 2025. One of the most notable transactions was the sale of the 35m carbon racing ketch SOJANA, built by Green Marine & Fast Cruising Ltd., renowned for its outstanding track record in world-class regattas. Another key sale was the Gunboat 78 catamaran MY CAT, recognised for her distinctive inverted bows and impressive performance capabilities.

The sales fleet has continued to expand significantly. Among the many motor yachts listed this year, five stood out in particular: the CRN Navetta 43 PALATIAL, the Benetti Delfino 93 SEA BEAR, the 85ft classic gentleman’s yacht EMERALD, the Couach 2200 MOUNIE IV, and the Windy SR44 Blackhawk ETOILE DES BERGERS.

However, our activity was not limited to motor yachts. Notable sailing yacht listings included the 147ft iconic composite ketch MARI CHA III, the 120ft Ed Dubois sloop THANDEKA, the Swan 108 FANCY, the Swan 90 YCH2, and the Swan 78 yacht VALKYRIE and Swan 76

LA LOÉVIE. The fleet also welcomed several remarkable catamarans, including the Alibi 67 SURPRISE, the Lagoon 620 LADY M, and the Explora 52 AQUA TERRA I

If 2025 is any to go by, 2026 promises to be another strong year for BGYB sales.

Charter

BGYB’s charter department also continues to go from strength to strength, seeing just as many reservations this year as our previous record season. Many contracts have already been signed for the Summer 2026 and Winter 2026/27 seasons, with some yachts even taking bookings for Summer 2027 already. The ever-changing geopolitical climate can bring, at times, a sense of anxiety and instability. However, BGYB continues to adapt by responding enthusiastically and proactively to the incline towards last minute bookings.

This year saw the addition of two exceptional sailing yachts to our fleet: the historic 160 ft Schooner TRINAKRIA and the Swan 90 YCH2, as well as the return of the stunning 94ft Custom Line FREE AT LAST. In addition, BGYB welcomed an extensive fleet of brand-new catamarans, including the Alegria 67 BLUESATION, the Sunreef 80 Power Eco TESNI, the

Sunreef 80 A-PLAN and the Lagoon 65 LADY ROSÉ. In other news, the 65m Schooner ATLANTIC and the 32m Alloy Yachts sailing yacht ABUNDANCE continue to make progress on their respective world tours, heading to a variety of unique destinations including Costa Rica and French Polynesia. With such an impressive fleet on offer, 2026 promises to be another highly successful year for the Charter Team.

Marketing and Development:

BGYB’s marketing software tools are ever developing. The introduction of a new CRM allows for better client tracking and contact organisation, while our updated Intranet facilitates an even stronger online presence. Offline, success was found at the Antigua Yacht Show in December 2025, where BGYB was proud to exhibit a record 4 yachts. The end of April 2026 brings two exciting events. The first is the MYBA Charter Show: an exciting networking opportunity for our charter brokers. Shortly after is the renowned Palma International Boat show, where BGYB has the pleasure of exhibiting 8 of our finest yachts (147ft MARI-CHA III, 121ft THANDEKA, Swan 108 FANCY, Wallycento 107 SPIRIT OF MALOUEN X, Sunreef Eco 80 APOLLO 99, JFA/Vitters 82 IKIGAI, Swan 77 TUGELA I & Alibi 65 SURPRISE).

Corsica

The French Island of Corsica is a yachting destination must in the Mediterranean. You don’t have to travel to the other side of the planet to find turquoise waters surrounded by awe-inspiring countryside and with the added bonus of pristine beaches, the cruising area around Corsica offers you it all.

Suggested Itinerary

Palma International Boat Show 2025

Date: 29 April - 02 May 2025 - Location: Palma, Spain

The kicking off the Mediterranean boating season

This major event will bring together a wide range of novelties, from new boats to nautical equipment, as well as various services and port infrastructures. To meet the high demand from companies wishing to exhibit, the show will be spread over two separate exhibition areas linked by sea, with the addition of a new 5,000 square metre area at the Club de Mar. This extension will accommodate yachts from 35 to 80 metres, mainly from single shipyards. With its idyllic setting in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, every year the show attracts visitors from all over the world, ranging from yachting enthusiasts to investors and professionals from the maritime sector.
