Dear Berkeley Carroll Community, On behalf of Berkeley Carroll’s Board of Trustees, we write to you with boundless appreciation for the many ways our community strengthens our school.

As we take a moment to reflect on the 2024-25 academic year at year’s end, we are proud to see that Berkeley Carroll is operating from a position of real strength through responsible stewardship, and our community’s response to fundraising efforts. As Board Co-Chairs, we feel deeply fortunate to build on the foundation laid by those who came before us—visionaries whose care and commitment planted the seeds for the community we cherish today—while continuing to pave the path forward for Berkeley Carroll’s bright future.

The 2024-25 financial picture reflects years of strong governance, the expertise of the School’ leadership team and its educators, and the community’s shared belief in investing wisely in our mission. Since 2019, Berkeley Carroll has more than doubled its endowment, positioning the school to remain competitive, sustainable, and futureforward among our peer institutions.

In that same spirit of possibility, we achieved tremendous growth in the 2024–25 Annual Fund, raising $1.45 million, a 25% increase over the previous year, along with a 18% rise in both parent participation and number of donors. We are honored and humbled to thank each of you who donated. Your contributions reflect the collective passion, dedication, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of a Berkeley Carroll education.

We are deeply grateful to our fellow trustees, as well as to Head of School, Dr. Lisa Yvette Waller, and our school leadership, faculty, and staff for bringing Berkeley Carroll’s mission to life each day. A robust and sincere thank you, to our entire community of families, alumni, and friends for your steadfast support.

Dear Berkeley Carroll Families, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Friends, On behalf of my colleagues, I would like to thank you for supporting Berkeley Carroll’s mission to prepare our students to discover their purpose and passions while developing the confidence and capacity to engage meaningfully in the classroom and in the wider world.

As an historian, I am naturally interested in and informed by the various iterations of our school that have been evident over time. In this my 7th year as Berkeley Carroll’s Head of School, I can say with confidence that one constant that defines a BC education is our commitment to providing our students with a learning experience steeped in a foundation of rigor and joy.

Because of your investment of both time and resources in the 2024-25 academic year, our classrooms come alive with inquiry, our educators spark wonder, and our students build an intellectual agility and resilience that deepens as they progress through each grade and division.

I am also proud to add to the list of last year’s remarkable milestones Berkeley Carroll’s successful completion of our decennial New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) accreditation with the NYSAIS Board unanimously voting to extend our accreditation, without stipulations for a full term. The NYSAIS Visiting Committee noted that a highlight of their time on campus was the “intelligent, creative, vibrant, diverse, and talented community of young scholars being thoughtfully and joyfully raised in the Berkeley Carroll environment.” It is because of your myriad contributions that BC is able to shine so brightly. It is because of your unwavering commitment that we are primed to chart BC’s future from a position of such strength.

2024-25 December Matching Challenge Last December, the Berkeley Carroll community came together in support of the Annual Fund!
