A Busy time for Beresfords
Spring 2021 has been a busy time for Beresfords!
With the Essex property market showing vibrant activity, more people are looking to move within the county than in more than a decade. And venders choosing to sell their property through Beresfords are getting great value, with the leading Essex estate agent achieving a remarkable 100% asking price for clients throughout the month of April.
But at Beresfords it's about much more than just buying and selling or letting and renting. The Beresford Foundation was set up by the award-winning estate agents in 2015 and is managed by the independent charitable trust Essex Community Foundation (ECF). Grants are awarded annually from the foundation to support local charities and voluntary groups in the county.
Among the recent beneficiaries from the fund are Billericay Baby Basics, a charity which supports mothers and families who are struggling to cope with the financial pressures of looking after a new baby. Based in the Revival Church in Billericay, Baby Basics also covers the Basildon and Wickford areas. A grant of £800 will help them to buy essential items including shelving, storage boxes and bags as well as enabling them to produce leaflets and a banner to help publicise their work.
Beresfords has also supported pupils at Anglo European School in Ingatestone with a donation towards new laptops, after the school found itself with a shortfall in equipment needed to maintain education during periods of home-schooling.
As well as investing in the local community, Beresfords recognises the importance of investing in its own people. Most recently, two new senior Land Directors, Richard Bray and Ross Morley, have joined the team to help strengthen the firm’s commitment to identifying opportunities to build new homes which will benefit present and future residents of Essex, as well as the environment. Richard started his career training as a Chartered Surveyor and Valuer in 1997 before, in 2015, he switched career paths and began working in land acquisition and project management for PLC housebuilders and niche developers (specialising in the conversion of listed buildings). Meanwhile, Ross joins Beresfords Group as Land Director and will use his experience to identify development opportunities, both with and without planning permission, to then work closely with housebuilders and developers to secure them.
In addition to these high-profile external appointments, Beresfords Group has continued its policy of promoting talent within the business. Joe Waller has moved up from New Homes Consultant to Assistant New Homes Manager at Beresfords Group after six years with the firm, while Ben Kohler has also joined the team as New Homes Apprentice.
And all the staff at Beresfords are set to benefit from the recently launched Room 68 at the company’s Chelmsford HQ, an innovative and creative hub aimed at inspiring greater opportunities for training, learning, networking and inspiration. This fantastic space will give colleagues the best opportunity to fulfil their potential and enjoy more from their career at Beresfords.
