Academics At Bentley there are three main types of classes: the General Education Core, the General Business Core, and lastly, your Major Courses. The general education core of classes puts an emphasis on Bentley students becoming well-rounded, exploring fields such as the sciences where classes take place in our state of the art science labs! The general business core focuses on developing ethical business leaders, and also allows you the opportunity to explore different areas of business, which is beneficial because you do not have to declare your major until the end of your sophomore year. At Bentley there are 25 majors and 36 minors, providing Bentley students with a wide array of subjects to study. 15 of the 25 majors are business majors and the other 10 are arts and sciences majors. Bentley also provides the opportunity to pursue a Liberal Studies Major as a double major and approximately 20% of Bentley students are currently doing this. Bentley is one of few institutions where a double major in business and arts and sciences is designed to be completed in four years!

Class registration happens online through a program called schedule planner. In schedule planner you have the ability to block off times you may want to have class,, and it is really user friendly. To help you prepare, there will be a Falcon Live Chat on July 16. You should register for this webinar in your New Student Portal. Then First Year Student Registration will take place on July 23rd, 2019, so mark your calendar, and do not stress, there is staff to help you throughout the process. When you are done, you can expect your first semester schedule to include a combination of required courses as well as a general education elective(s).

Campus Housing

Flex in Flight!

Starting a new adventure may seem daunting, but it is also exciting! Housing may be one of the larger sources of your anxiety, but it doesn’t have to be. In order to best prepare for move-in in August, make sure to read the information below and complete the Checklist in your New Student Guide!

The 2019–2020 Housing & Meal Plan Contract and First Year Housing Application are now available in your New Student Portal. Please read all of the information in the housing contract before you agree to it. As you finish the housing contract, your confirmation prompt will instruct you to complete the First Year Housing Application. Both the housing/meal-plan contract and the housing application must be submitted by 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019.

The Student Center The Student Center, located in the middle of campus, is the hub of student life. It is a place for students to study, socialize, and share a meal. Inside, you will find various places to grab a quick bite including, our campus dinging hall, the 921. The Student Center also houses various student-focused Bentley Offices and centers utilized by students.

Here are four of the spaces we hope you check out!

The Equity Center “The equity center educators came to talk to our chapter. I was super impressed with how many outlets they have and how available they are to students. I had no idea how many great resources I could get from them and will definitely be stopping by more frequently to learn more!” -Katelyn Petronack, class of 2021

The Spiritual Life Center “The Spiritual Life Center is a great resource for providing spiritual development as well as meeting spiritual needs. It allows me to worship and share my faith in a safe place.

The Bubble “The Bubble is conveniently located in the heart of campus and provides a comfortable and quiet spot for students to study. The Bubble is equipped with several study rooms where students can work collaboratively and study together, it’s the perfect study space”- Ryan Kees, Class of 2021

The Cultural Lounge “The Multicultural Center is a place geared towards enhancing diversity on all levels and creating a safe haven of inclusion for all. For me, I’ve found the MCC to be an amazing resource in keeping me motivated and inspired. The staff is also an amazing support system.” - Aleshia Green, Class of 2019

Bentley Tradition Spring Day with Khalid!

Spring Day is without a doubt the biggest tradition here at Bentley. Every year, the Saturday before finals start the school puts on a day of fun activities ranging from rock climbing walls to inflatables and everything in between (including amazing food trucks). Students wake up as early as 7 am to be able to experience all the activities going on this day.

The day culminates with a concert in the late afternoon, this years headline was Khalid! It was really cool having Khalid this year because his new album “Free Spirit” came out just three short weeks before his Spring Day performance! The whole day was centered around the theme “Livin’ the Good Life” including really cool bucket hats and T-shirts, and Bentley Students had a blast!
