ABOUT VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE)
Excited to be able to offer the extremely talented 3yo gelding VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE) . This young gelding has shown some serious talent between 1400m to 1600m. Versatile too can lead or stalk ‘loves a fight and is tough. He gets his head down and out and tries and now as a gelding has returned to racing very focused. A good sized gelding and still has more to come as quite bum high. Has that real long loose Lope de Vega walk and typical of the breed “they just continue to improve”.

VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE) shows all the good attributes of his sire’s best runners. He has the talent, the movement and heaps of untapped potential. Make no mistake Down Under this could be a serious horse! In a five start race career he is a winner and 3 times placed. His Timeform Rating is a very impressive 99 ( same as Sibaaq was when purchased last year) 3rd on debut at the good track YORK 2yo 1400m 20/8/21 RACING POST UK thoughts “In rear, pushed along 3f out, switched right and ridden up the centre 2f out, headway from over 1f out, went third final 110yds, kept on”
Next time out a month later he stalked the leaders and ran them down to get up strongly on the line for an impressive well rated win at REDCAR 2yo 1400m 22/9/21 1st RACING POST UK thoughts “Pressed leader, disputed lead from over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, led final strides “ On this day the horse showed he has a super turn of foot reeling off 32.83 for his last 600m.
Given a break he resumed with another strong effort at WOLVERHAMPTON (aw) 1400M 19/4/22 after getting a little worked up and leading at a very solid gallop that effort told in the end although he still fought it out to the line. 2ND RACING POST UK thoughts “Sweating, led at steady pace, pushed along and increased tempo over 2f out, ridden and faced challenge from over 1f out, headed “
A disappointing effort at HAYDOCK 3YO 28/5/22 when everything went wrong the colt was Gelded. 1st up at the good track HAYDOCK 3YO+ 1600M 23/9/22 and against all ages, he raced very trackable and got into a very good rhythm. Although run down at the line he was 1st up and still fought all the way. 2nd RACING POST UK thoughts “Prominent on inner, shaken up to lead 2f out, headed inside final furlong, kept on well,”
VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE) looks an ideal type for our racing style and his stride length would be seen at its best at some of our bigger tracks.

Nathan’s thoughts on VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE)
"This talented gelding sits on speed and has a super turn of foot breaking his maiden he broke 33, reeling off 32.83 for his last 600m. He is a really good middle distance horse in the making who is still maturing and untapped. He as some decent form lines infact very similar to Sibaaq last year running against the older handicappers and fighting it out with them, also worth noting he generally skips clear from most the field which is signs of a good horse. Vintage Choice has the Big Dance & 5 Diamonds written all over him."

Annabel Neashams thoughts on VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE)
"VINTAGE CHOICE looks to be a very progressive middle distance horse that has the same tough attributes as Sibaaq. I love the way he’s fights it out with his rivals every start and his got the right physical attributes to adapt to Australia. Above all else I trust Stuart Boman’s eye, he seems to buy horses that suit our system, as highlighted by Zaaki, Top Ranked, My Oberon and Sibaaq. He’ll arrive as a Class 1 horse and is a very exciting horse to take through the grades to head towards a five diamonds."
Leading European Bloodstock agent Stuart Bowman ( responsible for the purchase of Zaaki to come to Australia and also our very own Sibaaq) said this about VINTAGE CHOICE (IRE)
VINTAGE CHOICE Timeform rating 99.
"Lightly raced expensive yearling who has shown a good level of ability. Gelded over the winter after breaking his maiden at his last start at two.. I spoke with William Haggas and have a good working relationship with him. He told me that he was very a untapped horse that he had not got to the bottom off. He actually asked me if he could train he after the purchase not knowing he was heading down under. William is such a good trainer, I respect his operation and have confidence buying from him."
"Put in a career best effort last start in a first time hood finishing second in a good Haydock handicap & looks to be another value purchase from the team."
"He has a plenty of ability, travels up on speed his races which suits Australia and has similar form lines to Sibaaq against the older horses. Exciting prospect for Australia and looks an ideal Big Dance or Five Diamonds horse."
