INTRODUCING PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE (NZ) 2018 GELDING BY SUPER EASY X DUCHESSOFCAMBRIDGE

HE LOOKS A PROGRESSIVE STAYER VERY SIMILAR TO TEXAS TEA WITH A VERY SIMILAR FORM LINE. We are excited to present to you PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE, a 4yo New Zealand bred gelding who is lightly raced and is learning his trade. He has the breeding and potential to develop into a nice stayer.

ABOUT PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE

Princeofcambridge is a lightly raced 4yo gelding. He is a winner over 1300m, and he is placed over 1550m across his 5 starts to date. Like Texas Tea, this gelding has been typically managed in New Zealand where they seem to run from anywhere and love to put plenty of headgear on.

He carries a double cross to major staying influence Zabeel, and Princeofcambridge’s 2nd dam is by european major staying influence Montjeu, the sire of Camelot.

At his 1st start in Matamata 23/12/21 in a 1400m maiden he was held up for the majority of the final straight, so we put a line through that run. Gear carried: ear covers pre-race, approved plates, lugging bit and tongue tie.

At his 2nd start in Te Rapa 19/1/22 in a 1400m maiden he jumped well but worked hard to lead after being taken on a few times. He dropped out to run 5th, beaten 2.5 lengths after this hard run. Gear carried: ear covers pre-race, approved plates, lugging bit and tongue tie.

At his 3rd start in Waikato 2/2/22 he was stretched out to 1600. Jumping from barrier 16 he raced three wide without cover throughout. Consequently he dropped out after working terribly hard. Gear carried: ear covers pre-race, approved plates, lugging bit and tongue tie, Given a 5 month break between, he next appeared for his 4th start at Cambridge 6/7/22 over 1300m. Again he jumped well but commenced to race ungenerously for a distance passing the 1200m when being restrained. Settling down soon after he was placed in a stalking position behind the leaders. Prior to straightening he was asked for effort and responded, then when given rein on straightening he leveled out and finished strongly for a good 1 length win. Gear carried: ear covers pre-race, approved plates, lugging bit, blinkers (1st time) and tongue tie At his 5th start in Cambridge 27/7/22 over 1550, he raced in the MARTIN COLLINS NEW ZEALAND worth 40k NZD. He was a little slow away from barrier 3 and beaten for early speed, however he settled handily beyond midfield, held a comfortable rail position and rolled along strongly in a workmanlike fashion. As in his previous start, he was asked for effort prior to straightening and responded genuinely. Upon straightening he was slightly inconvenienced until switching over heels and finishing strongly for 3rd, really hitting the line. Gear carried: ear covers pre-race, approved plates, lugging bit, blinkers and tongue tie.

Princeofcambridge is a nice horse on the way up. As mentioned earlier he has had so much head gear thrown at him from his first start. Experience tells us he needs some re-educating like Texas Tea before we will see this geldings real potential.
