ABOUT PRINCEOFCAMBRIDGE

Princeofcambridge is a lightly raced soon to be 4yo gelding. A winner over 1300m and placed over 1550m in 5 starts. Like Texas Tea this gelding has been very typically managed in New Zealand where they seem to run from anywhere and they love to put head gear on them! Carrying a double cross to major staying influence ZABEEL Princeofcambridge 2nd dam is by European major staying influence Montjeu sire of Camelot.

His 1st race start 23/12/21 in a Matamata 1400m Maiden he was held up for the majority of the final straight. So you can put a line through that run. Gear carried: Ear Covers Pre-Race, Approved Plates, Lugging Bit, Tongue Tie Taken to Te Rapa 19/1/22 for his next start also over 1400m Princeofcambridge jumped well but worked hard to lead and after being taken on a few times he dropped out to run 5th beaten 2.5L after this hard run. Jumping from barrier 16 the gelding raced three wide without cover throughout.

Again the gelding jumped well but commenced to race ungenerously for a distance passing the 1200m when being restrained. Settling down soon after he was placed in a stalking position behind the leaders. Given rein on straightening he levelled out running away an easy winner. Gear carried Covers Pre-Race, Approved Plates, Lugging Bit, Blinkers (1st time), Tongue Tie At his last start at Cambridge 27/7/22 in the MARTIN COLLINS NEW ZEALAND 1550 worth 40k NZD Princeofcambridge was slow away and settled handy. After being pushed back beyond midfield the gelding was held up until switching over heals and I really like his last 100m as it was strong and determined with him really levelling out to the line. Gear carried: Ear Covers Pre-Race, Approved Plates, Lugging Bit, Blinkers, Tongue Tie Princeofcambridge is a nice horse on the way up. As mentioned earlier he has had so much head gear thrown at him from his first start. Experience tells us he needs re-educating like Texas Tea before we will see this geldings real potential.
