INTRODUCING NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) 2019 COLT SHALAA X NIGHT SERENADE (GOLAN) WELL RATED BRILLIANT WINNER OF THE 2022 TOULOUSE DERBY DE LANGDUEDOC LISTED (2400M)

NIGHT ENDEAVOUR (FR) Exciting French 3yo colt NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) has been taken through his grades very wisely. In an 8 start career he was a smart debut winner over 2000m at Marseille AW in October last year. His next start at Gagnes-Sur-Mer AW in January 2022 over 2000m he missed the start hopelessly but flashed along the rails to grab 2 nd on the line. After an unplaced effort again at Gagnes-Sur-Mer AW, NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) appeared again in March at Marseille AW. Away ok the colt was afforded a 3 wide journey for the race but kept finding and was strongest on the line to grab 3 rd beaten only 3/4L. The colt’s first try on turf was when he first came under our notice.

Racing over 2000m at Marseille he jumped well and worked outside the leader before taking over on straightening. Loved the way he stuck his neck out down the straight holding off the 2nd horse by a length.

The colt reeled off some super sectionals that day Last 400m in 22.07 and last 600m in 34.29.

Taken to the metropolitan track of Saint Cloud Turf for his next start NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) was stretched out to 2100m this time.

Jumping okay then settled in 2nd outside the leader the jockey then elected to place him 3 to 4 wide for the rest of the race. Turning for home the jockey made a bee line to the outside rail losing 15 lens ! The way he knuckled down to only go under by 4 len was astonishing really.

NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) last run was in the Listed Derby De Langduedoc 2400m at Toulouse. The colt raced behind the leader took over on straightening and careered away to win by 3 len in record time of 2:24.50. The colt once again showed a great Turn Of Foot which we believe will hold him in good stead in Australia.

A tall rangy colt NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) has been taken along in his grades well. He races left and right handed, he has won on turf and synthetic and races although greenly with a lot of determination.

He is a colt we feel is on the way up learning his craft.

Nathan’s thoughts on NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) "The colt has shown he can reel off some super sectionals and run fast times which suits the Aussie Conditions. He can also hold very good splits during the race which shows his a genuine stayer with a lot of upside.

His a really good stayer in the making who is still maturing, his listed win rated very highly and I am confident he can replicate this form. VERY GOOD TIMEFORM RATING 106. Would love to land this colt as I believe he could keep raising the bar and shows great fight. He's unlucky not to have 5 wins to his name."

Leading European Bloodstock agent Stuart Bowman ( responsible for the purchase of Zaaki to come to Australia) said this about NIGHT ENDEAVOR (FR) "NIGHT ENDEAVOR is a lightly raced progressive three-year-old middle distance horse who posted a career best performance when running away to a three length victory in the Derby du Languedoc (Listed, 2400m) at Toulouse in race record time of 2:24.50 some 4.5 secs quicker than the previous race run over the same distance.

NIGHT ENDEAVOR has won three races and placed four times from eight starts. He has been steadily progressed by his trainer Jerome Reynier and really relished the step up in trip and firm ground at his most recent start. He is a good looking well made colt who has plenty of size and substance and looks open to further natural improvement especially over a staying trip and on firmer ground.

His pedigree is an interesting blend of speed and stamina being a son of Group One winning two-year-old sprinter Shalaa whose best progeny in Australia by Seven Veils (Gr 2 winner) and Shaquero (Gr 3 winner).

While, there is a lot of stamina on his dam side with his first dam being a stakes winner up to 2700m and his half-brother being a high class hurdler winning up to 3100m. He is from a deep German family which has plenty of top class performers including champions Nightflower, Nymphea and Navaro Girl."

A very successful staying sire Golan amongst other sired Champion Hong Kong galloper Beauty Flash, Gr1 Victoria Derby winner Kibbutz.

Night Serenade hails from an outstanding German family noted for producing Group winners over a distance.

She is a ½ sister to the dam of Champion French Gr1 winner Intellogent winner of the Gr1 Deauville Prix Jean Prat etc.
