INTRODUCING HIGH QUALITY 3YO COLT ARDAKAN (GB) 2019 COLT RELIABLE MAN X ALASKAKONIGIN TIMEFORM RATING 115 WINNER GROUP 2 ITALIAN DERBY WINNER 2021 ITALIAN PREMIO GUIDO BERARDELLI GROUP 3 2yo 1800m 2022 GROUP 1 PLACED GROSSER PREIS VON BERLIN GROUP 1

Lightly raced in Germany, France and Italy this German trained colt has won or placed in 4 of his 5 starts at Group or Listed level. ARDAKAN (GB) started his racing career 21/9/21 at Munchen Germany with good 3rd over 1400m Next time out on 15/10/21 and this time over 2000m at Baden Baden ARDAKAN (GB) was a good 2nd carrying 58kg on good ground. Thrown in at the deep end for his 3rd start and taken to Rome 7/11/21 ARDAKAN (GB) smashed a good field of colts in the Italian Premio Guido Berardelli (Group 3) (2yo) 1mile 1 furlong 1800m . Always in a stalking position the colt left no doubt he was a horse of the future careering away to win by 6 lens. The colt was given a let up and resumed on the 1/5/22 in France for the Prix de l'Avre (Listed Race) (3yo 2400m ) In an unfamiliar role ARDAKAN (GB) was sent to the lead and made all the running. Remembering the colt was 1st up after 6 months and out to the 2400m distance for the 1st time ARDAKAN (GB) came under pressure at the 300m mark but in his customary fashion he rallied strongly to be beaten only a neck.

ABOUT ARDAKAN (GB)

ARDAKAN (GB) last start, his 7th career, 14/8/22 Gr1 Grosser Preis von Berlin 2400m against all ages saw the colt always prominent, well ridden and to be beaten only 2 Len at his first attempt at Gr1 level against Gr1 performers was very good Winner smart Godolphin horse Rebels Romance already a Group winner.

We are thrilled to offer you the opportunity to race at the highest level with a proven Group class colt. Due to the owners not nominating for the 2022 Melbourne & Caulfield Cups this outstanding colt is offered at a realistic price with his proven performances!

ARDAKAN (GB) is a lightly raced 3yo colt bred in England but comes from a top class stamina orientated German family. A beautifully made and built correct colt he carries the same grey coat colour as his sire the top class Gr1 galloper Reilable Man. ARDAKAN (GB) owns a lovely fluent way of going with a great length of stride which is possibly why he is effective on good to slow ground In racing he shows such determination and races close up near the lead which is a pattern that suits Australia well With outstanding form from 1800m to 2400m at Group level ARDAKAN (GB) presents an outstanding opportunity to race on in Europe this season then come to Australia and in the Autumn be set for the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stks a race his own sire won in record time!

This set ARDAKAN (GB) up well for his 5th race start 22/5/22 in the Gr2 Derby Italiano 2200m. The colt jumped well as always but this time settled in midfield and took closer order 600m out. With 200m to go ARDAKAN (GB) again showed his determination , outpointing the eventual 2nd place after it had the better of him. Back to Germany for the colt’s 6th start 3/7/22 Gr1 German Derby ARDAKAN (GB) settled well back but made good from 300m to be beaten only 2 3/4 Len over the 2400m.

ITALIAN DERBY WINNERS

Two runners stood out in the €640,200 Group II Premio Derby Italiano (2200m), Reliable Man’s ARDAKAN, and Tempesti a son of the Deep Impact stallion Albert Dock (JPN). And that’s the order they finished. Making their runs together down the centre of the track, Tempesti clearly headed ARDAKAN and looked set for a comfortable win. However, Tempesti began to shorten stride while Clement Lecoeuvre never gave up on the rallying ARDAKAN.

"The is a high quality Group 1 performed colt that has shown he can reel off some super sectionals, He's Derby win last 400 splits 400 200 11.6 then 200 to post in 11.8, his last 400 23.4. He can reel off super sectionals which makes a top class stayer, and he can also sustain a long run. He is a really good stayer in the making who is still maturing, his 2yo 1800m Group 3 win was exceptional and he made a good field look 2nd rate. The Italian Derby win he just showed how tough he is when he looked beaten and really dug deep and showed great fight which all good horses do.

Rennen Nathan’s thoughts on ARDAKAN (GB)

RACE RECORD: STARTS 2-2-2 - €302,390 Won Rome Derby Italiano, Gr 2 (2200m), Premio Guido Berardelli, Gr 3 (1800m), 2nd ParisLongchamp Prix de l'Avre, L, Baden Baden Preis des Champion First Season Sire Isfahan, 3rd Hoppegarten Grosser Preis von Berlin, Gr 1, Munich Herzlich Willkommen zum Genesis Wies'n Renntag

VERY GOOD TIMEFORM RATING 115. Top class colt with a great pedigree and unlucky in the Group 1 German Derby. In the Group 1 Grosser Preis he beat home some quality horses including Grosser Preis der Badischen Wirtschaft (Group 2) Winner Adler Alder and Group 3 Prix du Lys Longines winner Northern Ruler. He looks a future Group 1 winner to me and would love to have him running in the Bennett Racing Silks. Another quality this colt has is his never beaten far which is a key to a top rated horse. "

ARDAKAN Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed. Timeform rated 115. "A very genuine horse who always puts in and stays particularly well.

Impressive winner of a Group Three over 1800m at the end of last season before returning with a close second in Prix de l’Avre (Listed, 2400m) first time out this season. He defeated Hafit on that occasion who at his next start finished a close third in the Queen’s Vase (Gr 2, 1m6f) behind Elder Eldarov and Zechariah. He then posted a courageous victory in the Italian Derby (Gr 2, 2200m) staying on strongly back on the inside. He posted a narrow victory only but the first two drew well clear of the rest of the field. He backed this up with a luckless eighth in the German Derby experiencing a torrid run.

He has been invited to the US$1m Caesar Jockey Club Invitational Derby (Gr 3, 2400m) at Belmont Park in USA on 17 September. He could be an ideal candidate to campaign internationally before targeting next years Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m)."

At his most recent start he posted a new Timeform peak rating of 115 when finishing third a weight for age in the Grosser Preis von Berlin (Gr 1, 2400m) against the older horses. He defeated proven Group 1 performers and stayed on well once again displaying his genuine attitude. He is bred to get 3200m but has the speed for 1800m+. He is tactically versatile and should only improve with age and more distance.

A lightly raced three year old who has won two races from seven starts and has only been out of the placings on one occasion when finishing eighth in the German Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) beaten only two and three quarter lengths (came from near last and widest on the home turn to stay on very well).

Leading European Bloodstock agent Stuart Bowman ( responsible for the purchase of Zaaki to come to Australia and also our very own Sibaaq) said this about ARDAKAN (GB)

This is the female line of top stallions Miswaki and Green Dancer.
