WIND ROSE From this wind analysis it is clear that the strongest and most common winds come from the south west.

Depending on the orientation of the community centre windows should be placed on the south and north facades to ensure maximum efficiency for cross ventilation.

ORIENTATION OF THE COMMUNITY CENTRE The Community Centre should be planned in such a way that benefits from shaded indoor and outdoor living areas when the weather is hot and sunny indoor and outdoor areas with wind protection when the weather is cold.

Both the sun path and the wind rose as well as the flooding habits of the Community were taking into consideration when designing the Community Centre The Community Centre orientation governs the passive technologies implementation within the design. It also governs the window sizing and locations, which will affect both lighting space conditioning within a building.

Proper orientation can lead to significant reduction in lighting technologies.

The high angle of the sun in the sky in summer makes it easy to shadewindows using only a generous roof overhang and metal screen. The longer north/south sides of the building benefits from the low angle sun in winter.

The canopies and metal screens on the equator side should allow the sun to shine into the building when its warmth is required in winter, and provide adequate protection from high-angle sun in summer.

The Community space should be located to gain maximum benefit from the north west cooling breezes in hot weather and shelter from undesirable winds in winter.
