See Your Success - Measure C Saves City Services
What is measure C and why should I be congratulated?
You have probably noticed all the signs around town about Measure C and you may have seen other messages on social media and other places. And you may have wondered exactly what Measure C is and what does it have to do with you? The signs, ads and other media are a message to the people of Benicia congratulating the citizens on their foresight to vote for measure C back in 2014.

On November 4, 2014, Benicia voters passed "Measure C": a one-cent-onthe-dollar sales tax that went into effect on April 1, 2015. Measure C, also known as "Benicia’s Quality of Life Measure," creates funding that allows the City of Benicia to continue offering essential community services and address public safety, parks and infrastructure needs.
Benicia is a full-service city and what that means is that we have our own Cityrun police, fire, park and water services. Without the revenue that Measure C provides, the City would likely have to cut back on locally controlled services that help maintain our community’s quality of life.

April 2022 marked the seventh anniversary of Measure C. Since April 1, 2015, Measure C has generated $45,441,007, which the City of Benicia has invested right back into our community. To see what all has been accomplished please take a look at www.ci.benicia.ca.us/measurec, where you can "see your success" and "measure your accomplishments" that have been made possible through revenue from Measure C.
So while you are out enjoying your city parks, your marina, beaches, trails, bike paths, baseball fields and the many wonderful events that we all enjoy so much, remember that it was your vote that made it happen. Congratulations!
