Meet the Chamber team Geraldine Holden Sales Consultant

How long have you worked for the Chamber?

I have worked with the Chamber for over 10 years and been part of our small friendly team for five years. We work smartly and closely together and I enjoy the challenges that arise each day as no two days are the same. I work from home but appreciate feeling part of the team, coming to London for the flagship events. It is always good to see Chamber members in the flesh!

What do you do? Describe a ‘typical’ day.

I am responsible for sales and sponsorship for main events at the Chamber, such as the Business Awards, the Golf charity day and of course our two Festivals of Business. I enjoy building rapport with our sponsors and speaking to new companies about the benefits of being part of the Chamber. I also helped promote the recent international trade visit to Morocco and am helping raise private sponsorship for Safer Business Hounslow.

Career path so far?

Prior to joing the Chamber I worked for over 25 years as a sales manager in newspapers. It was a challenging, varied and fast-paced role which prepared me well for my current role.

What has been your proudest moment?

In my newspapers days, it was running a successful sales team and achieving targets. Today, it’s finding a new sponsor for the Chamber.

Do you have a favourite event?

Yes, the Business Awards, which is the largest event and takes a great deal of planning and preparation from the whole team and beyond. It is a huge challenge, but the event has been a great success during my time at the Chamber. It is always enjoyable to be involved in and very satisfying when the event has gone well.

When you are away from the office, what you do enjoy doing?

With eight grandchildren I sometimes rather wish I was back in the office! I am writing this at the end of a busy half term week!
