COOMO BY BENE COOMO is a modular sofa system distinguished by its thoughtful design: every single component can be replaced if needed. In a time when many things are short-lived, COOMO deliberately focuses on longevity. The covers can be removed and replaced with new fabrics in different colours or textures whenever desired. Upholstery and frame can also be renewed, as the individual parts are not glued together. Thanks to its material purity, all compo-

nents can be easily separated and recycled. With three different modules – corner element, single element and pouf – a wide range of configurations can be created. These can be adapted or expanded at any time thanks to the modular concept, allowing for maximum flexibility tailored to space and use. COOMO Outdoor is the weather-resistant version and can be used in outdoor areas.

Backrest and seat element: The substructure made of EPP (expanded polypropylene) and a plywood plate. EPP is 100% recyclable and free from harmful substances. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, EPP is lightweight, shock-absorbing, and dimensionally stable. Cover and upholstery: All upholstered elements are made of dimensionally stable polyurethane foam (PUR foam, 60 kg). In the outdoor version, an additional protective layer made of textile fibres prevents moisture from penetrating and thus contributes to the material’s weather resistance. An optional flame-retardant version is available in accordance with BS 5852 Part 2, Ignition Source 5 Crib 5 (PUR foam, 60 kg). The covers are designed to be removable and are available in various fabric, imitation leather or leather collections. Colour configuration options: single colour or with optionally different seat and base upholstery 3 .

OPTIONS USB-C CHARGING PORT SET If required, the COOMO base can be equipped with a USB-C charging port set. The necessary preparation is integrated as standard in the base of all modules. The USB-C charging port set is optional and must be ordered separately. Only suitable for COOMO modules used indoors. The cabling system is designed so that multiple modules can be powered from a single electrical connection.

A recess in the lower part of each COOMO module allows for easy and clean cable routing between several modules.

The protective cover for the modular sofa COOMO Outdoor provides optimal protection against weather conditions, dust, and dirt. It is precisely tailored to each module element – pouf, single element, or corner element. The durable, water-repellent material ensures long-lasting protection and shields the upholstery from UV radiation and moisture. The cover is easy to attach and remove, making it ideal for long-term outdoor use.

SUSTAINABILITY From the specifications stage through to series production, ecological requirements are always an important factor in the development process. This includes selecting environmentally compatible materials, such as CoC-certified timbers from sustainably managed forests, using recycled materials and increasing the use of renewable raw materials. In order to guarantee a high recyclability standard for our products, we avoid composites as much as possible and develop furniture that allows for disassembly. Labelling of materials, their ability to be repaired, and a long service life for the components used, are other important requirements for product design. But the ability to disassemble and recycle the products at the end of their lives are also important criteria.

SUSTAINABLE RAW-MATERIALS At Bene, the following materials are used as a matter of course: · chipboards low in formaldehyde · glues low in formaldehyde · water-based varnish systems · recyclable materials · materials with a high recycling share · PVC-free synthetics

CONTRIBUTION TO BUILDING CERTIFICATIONS In the context of ecological building certification, design systems such as furniture and dividing walls help to achieve a good result and a higher score. Bene's products make a contribution towards the LEED, WELL Building Standard, DGNB, BREEAM, etc. certifications. Criteria include, for example, environmental product declarations, indoor air quality, acoustics and convertibility.
