IIC Wellness Grant Program

In 2022, the IIC Board of Directors started a wellness grant program for its members. Highmark has generously allocated a total of $40,000 to fund wellness grants for the 2022 and 2023 plan years. We are pleased to have 12 IIC groups currently participating in the initial year of this new wellness grant program. Additionally, a total of $28,000 is available for the 2023 wellness grants. These grants will be distributed by the IIC Board at the end of this year. An ongoing wellness program can encourage employees to make healthy lifestyle choices that promote better health and potentially reduce overall health claims for a group. Wellness grant funds must be used for activities or items that will have a positive impact on employees’ overall wellness, and ideas that promote this positive impact are encouraged. Here are some examples of how members have used their 2022 wellness grant funds: • Gym memberships • Lunch and Learn programs • Water bottles • Registration fees for races • New gym equipment • Standing desks • Biometric multiphasic blood screenings • Healthy snacks for meetings • Reimbursement of fitness classes We encourage you to take advantage of available wellness grants for 2023.
