At BDMS, we stand for more than just educational excellence – we embody a philosophy that shapes every aspect of our educational journey with our beloved Bendemeerians. Our acronym BDMS represents our guiding principles: we are (Be) Anchored in Values where we prioritise character development as the foundation of who we are as human beings; we Dare to Aspire by nurturing hope and high aspirations in every student; we Motivate One Another through positive friendships and strong rapport that create a supportive learning environment; and we Strengthen Our Strengths through embracing strength and talent-based development that allows each individual to flourish.

Our mission thus remains steadfast: Nurturing a community of youths who are anchored in values, dare to aspire, motivate one another, and strengthen their strengths to lead and serve with purpose. This shared mission drives everything we do, from our innovative curriculum design – consisting of our signature programmes such as Let’s BDMS!, CLAPS!, the Applied Learning Programme and the Learning for Life Programme with a key focus on developing Community Youth Leaders – to our holistic student development programmes and our continuous enhancement of conducive learning spaces. Our refreshed learning and working spaces such as the AnchorEdge, the School Library of the Future, the parade square, the Integrated Student Services Hub (iSSH) and our H.O.M.E (Haven of Motivation & Engagement) have contributed in celebrating students’ diverse strengths and bringing out the best in each individual.

Our achievements in recent years speak volumes about our upward momentum. From outstanding academic results to remarkable co-curricular accomplishments, our students have consistently demonstrated that when given the right environment and support, they can achieve extraordinary things. Our C Division Football boys’ third placing in League 1, our performing arts CCAs, Band, Choir and Indian Dance, clinching the Distinction Award and all of our Uniformed Groups achieving the Gold Award for the Unit Assessment Award are testament of our students’ capabilities. These successes are not merely statistics – they represent the collective dedication of our staff in actualising our refreshed school vision of nurturing Critical Thinkers, Courageous Leaders, and Caring Contributors who will make meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond.

Critical thinkers

Our vision for our students as Critical Thinkers extends beyond academic achievement. We aspire to develop our beloved Bendemeerians who engage deeply with ideas, question assumptions and draw thoughtful conclusions. Our students exhibit intellectual rigour, examining complex issues from various angles and developing well-founded judgements. They are prepared to handle uncertainty, approach problems with creativity, and make well-informed decisions. In the various Science Olympiad Competitions and the 2025 Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO), our students secured an impressive array of medals, including 3 Golds in the Upper Secondary category for the latter. Our school has continued to produce Value-Added results for the national examinations with almost all students progressing to higher educational institutions.

Courageous Leaders

Courageous Leaders are characterised by their willingness to act with authenticity and conviction. They tackle difficult subjects, voice unpopular opinions when necessary, and share vulnerable experiences that inspire others. Our vision encompasses moral courage, standing up for what is right as well as the courage to innovate, take risks, and learn from mistakes. With Student Leadership as a key priority for every Bendemeerian, our students demonstrate resilience and inspire others through their actions, leading with empathy and integrity to create positive change. Our monthly STAR Bendemeerian Awards across all four levels acknowledge students who exhibit the school’s C.A.R.E. values and lead as positive role models. The Leaders Council (LEADS) consisting of the top tier of student leaders are empowered to Lead, Elevate, Adapt, Direct and Serve the school and community through various platforms such as Student Forums and the Youth Day Celebration. The LEADS serves as the directional leadership of the student leadership group by thinking strategically to enhance the student experience.

Caring Contributors

Caring Contributors represent the heart of our school community. Our students recognise that their talents exist not merely for personal advancement, but to serve others and strengthen our communities. They act to create connections, heal, and build bridges of understanding. Our youths demonstrate compassion in action, attuned to others’ needs, contributing meaningfully to collective endeavours, and using their gifts to uplift those around them. Be it going out to homes in the vicinity to give out festive goodies for Chinese New Year and Hari Raya or commemorating our nation’s 60th year of independence by handing out SG60 mementos to the community, our students contribute to the community meaningfully.

The values of C.a.r.e – Courage, adaptability, respect, and excellence – are not merely displayed but actively embodied in our daily interactions and decisions. These values equip our students to navigate an increasingly complex world with confidence and integrity. They demonstrate courage, integrity and resilience in their leadership. They think critically and embrace change through adaptability. They value themselves and others, fostering a positive and inclusive community. And they pursue excellence in everything they do, as a community. The various levels’ Values In Action (VIA) Programme, which is embedded in our Learning for Life Programme, ensures our students have a progressive, four-year approach to community engagement and social responsibility. Beyond the school and nation, our students have embarked on cross cultural connections to Tianjin, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Suzhou to learn and serve beyond borders.

aCadeMiC aChieVeMents

2024 GCE 0-Level Examination 2024

The GCE N-Level results were released on 16 December 2024, while the GCE O-Level results for 2024 were released on 10 January 2025. Our school has continued to deliver value-added results, with many students able to progress to post-secondary institutions. Our Sec 4 Normal (Academic) and Sec 4 Normal (Technical) students have achieved a high level of N-Level passes. As for our O-Level cohort, we are heartened to note that many of our students have managed to qualify for post-secondary education in junior colleges or polytechnics. We also acknowledge the students who have done well while overcoming different forms of adversity.

We were so proud of Muhammad Qu’syairie Abdullah of 4R8 2024, for getting his amazing story of overcoming adversity featured on the news! Our humble and inspiring Bendemeerian did well for his N-Level examinations, with much support and motivation from his classmates and teachers, even though he had faced different types of challenges due to his past medical condition.

2025 Mother Tongue GCE O-Level Examination

On 21 August, our Secondary 4 students received their O-Level results for their Mother Tongue languages! We celebrated with cheers and applause, and many students appreciated the efforts of their teachers. We also acknowledge the students who have done well while overcoming different forms of adversity. We would like to thank all the teachers and non-teaching staff for helping our N-Level and O-Level students over the past four to five years. This support has been crucial to helping them achieve credible results and be able to progress to the next stage of their education.

48th sPeeCh & awards day

On 17 April, Bendemeer Secondary School celebrated our 48th Speech & Awards Day, with Guests of Honour Mr Vincent Ling, Chairperson of BDMS School Advisory Committee (SAC), and Mr Lee Chuan Too, Chairperson of Whampoa Secondary School Alumni.

On this special occasion, the school honoured the various achievements of past and present Bendemeerians, focusing not just on academic excellence but also CCA accolades. This year, we also started recognising students who have displayed excellence in the different aspects of the broad-based, holistic education that BDMS provides, be it in sports, arts and culture or community service.

Besides the encouraging words from our Principal Ms Foo and GOH Mr Ling, the audience also applauded the inspiring speeches from our Valedictorian Josh Tekani, Class of 2024, as well as our Model Bendemeerians Rui of Adaptability 2, Hafsa of Respect 6, Jayden of Excellence 3 and Ethan, Class of 2024.

At the same time, we also celebrated our staff and partners, thankful for our teachers’ exemplary commitment to their craft, our non-teaching staff’s dedication to the various roles they play in school, and the precious support provided by parents, alumni, stakeholders and partners of our school community.

Another highlight was the official opening of Our H.O.M.E. - Haven Of Motivation and Engagement. This unique and vibrant space has been home to many students who seek a space to re-charge and connect with others, and our Guests-of-Honour and other distinguished guests gave numerous positive comments and compliments.

The morning ended with a cosy reception at the school library, where our guests, staff and Speech Day awardees were treated to enchanting performances by our talented singers and musicians, and connected with one another over food, music, conversation and celebratory and joyous laughter.

In Bendemeer Secondary School, the Talent Development Programme (TDP) aims to stretch the potential of Bendemeerians who exhibit exceptional aptitude for their academic subjects. With all departments on board, this means that many individuals are provided different opportunities to strengthen their strengths through curated programmes. These Bendemeerians get to participate in different competitions throughout the year and are recognised for their dedication and efforts. Moreover there are various platforms providing them with exclusive internships, learning journeys and workshops that focus on providing exposure and enhancing their capabilities.

PrOGraMMe (aLP)

Our school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Sustainability nurtures students to become critical thinkers, courageous leaders, and caring contributors through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Anchored in national priorities such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the programme connects classroom learning to real-world sustainability challenges, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and make a positive difference to the school and wider community.

At Secondary 1, students begin their ALP journey by exploring Zero Food Waste. Through data collection, analysis, and hands-on experiences in sustainable farming and vegetable cultivation, students think critically about the impact of food waste. Working in teams, they build empathy, responsibility, and collaboration skills, developing early habits of care as caring contributors to the school community. In Secondary 2, the focus shifts to Zero Carbon Footprint, where students deepen their understanding of energy conservation and carbon emissions. Learning journeys, upcycling workshops, and outreach to pre-schoolers provide opportunities for students to step up as courageous leaders, advocating sustainable practices while strengthening their communication and leadership skills. The journey continues in Secondary 3 with STEM for a Sustainable Future. Through visits to the Sustainable Singapore Gallery and alternative protein farms, students gain valuable insights into Singapore’s sustainability efforts. They apply scientific knowledge and creative problem-solving in STEM challenges using recyclable materials, reinforcing the importance of STEM in building a sustainable future and sharpening their skills as critical thinkers.

Beyond the classroom, selected students further deepen their learning through the Ecostewards Programme, where mentorship and real-world problem-solving empower them to design, prototype, and implement innovative sustainability solutions.

Together, these experiences form a meaningful ALP that integrates knowledge, skills, and values-driven action. By engaging with authentic sustainability issues and taking on leadership roles, our students are inspired to learn, lead, and care—preparing them to contribute confidently and responsibly towards a more sustainable future.

Beijing and Tianjin, China (29 May - 2 June)

What an unforgettable adventure it was! In late May, selected Secondary 3 Bendemeerians journeyed to Beijing and Tianjin, China as part of their Cross Cultural Connections International Trip. They stood in awe of China’s rich culture and history, especially when experiencing the Great Wall of China, and felt a deep sense of Singaporean pride visiting the Singapore-Tianjin Eco-City, where our nation plays a key role in shaping a greener future. Both staff and students gained multiple global perspectives and this trip was truly a testament to how learning can come to life beyond the classroom and even across borders!

Hong Kong (29 May - 2 June)

In May, selected Secondary 3 students went on a Cross Cultural Connections International Trip to Hong Kong! From visiting and learning from educational institutions to navigating the busy streets famous for iconic food choices and shopping sprees, our Bendemeerians had an enriching time soaking in the unique culture of Hong Kong. It was indeed a fruitful time spent with fellow peers, teachers and Vice-Principal Mr Azman, especially when we were so warmly welcomed by our kind hosts. These special connections made would definitely be cherished as we continue to embark on exciting journeys and broaden our horizons, enhancing our global perspectives and deepening our understanding of different cultures!

Bendemeer Secondary School

Johor Bahru, Malaysia (16 & 22 October)

Over two days in October, our students from Adaptability 1 to Adaptability 8 embarked on the BDMS Secondary 2 cohort trip to Johor Bahru. Through authentic experiences like planting Bok Choy, making traditional kueh and batik painting, our young Bendemeerians immersed themselves in the rich tapestry of Malaysia’s unique culture and traditions. It was indeed an eye-opening experience for our students and a delightful opportunity for them to bond with one another!

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam (22 - 26 October)

In October, selected Secondary 3 students were engaged in an overseas immersion programme at Ho Chi Minh, exploring Vietnam’s rich heritage and engaging in meaningful cultural exchanges. Over the few days, they had various experiences such as hands-on coffee making at Roaster Coffee Company, an enchanting Water Puppet Show at the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre and toured advanced farming zones at Agricultural Hi-Tech Park. They also attended lessons with their Vietnamese peers and engaged in meaningful cultural and educational exchanges at Vo Truong Toan Secondary School. In addition, they were fully engaged in a culinary experience at Ho Chi Minh Cooking Class, starting with a guided farm tour to learn how fresh produce is grown. Students harvested organic vegetables and herbs before transforming them into delicious Vietnamese dishes - truly farm-to-table! All in all, it was a truly enriching and holistic adventure!

Shanghai and Suzhou, China (13 - 18 November)

In November, six Secondary 3 Bendemeerians, accompanied by Mr Chin Jie, embarked on an overseas immersion trip to Shanghai and Suzhou in China, together with students from two other S5 cluster schools, St. Joseph’s Institution and St. Andrew’s Secondary School.

They experienced what life was like in two schools, and visited various places of interest in Shanghai and Suzhou. It has indeed been a rewarding experience for all participants involved in this immersion trip, as they got to be engaged in different programmes and activities that exposed them to the education system in Suzhou. At the same time, they gained critical insights on sustainability and innovation. More importantly, they have made meaningful connections with other youths, be it with the students from fellow cluster schools or with students from schools they visited. Indeed, we look forward to even more golden opportunities for internationalisation in the future!

St Margaret’s Co-Educational English Primary and Secondary School (Hong Kong)

On 15 April, we were thrilled to host students and teachers from St Margaret’s Co-Educational English Primary and Secondary School (Hong Kong) as part of their STEAM Study Tour to Singapore! Our guests got a firsthand look at what life is like at Bendemeer — from exploring our campus and facilities to getting involved in some fun, hands-on activities. Staff and students from both schools had the chance to connect, chat, and learn from one another. There were lots of smiles, stories exchanged, and even a few new friendships formed!

Tianjin No.1 Middle School

On 16 January, Bendemeer Secondary School welcomed staff and students from Tianjin No.1 Middle School. In their few hours with us, our guests went through several hands-on activities and interactive sessions that gave them snippets of school life in Singapore, as well as a deeper insight of the multicultural fabric of our little red dot. More importantly, the students of Tianjin No.1 Middle School had many opportunities to interact with our Bendemeerians, breaking down barriers and fostering a stronger connection with the global community. We were indeed privileged to have had such a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with them!

Term 1

Term 2

It was indeed a wonderful privilege to have then Minister for Education, Mr Chan Chun Sing, visit and address the entire school on the very first day of school to start 2025 right! He spoke candidly about how the BDMS culture has cultivated numerous youths who help take care of one another, as well as how the teachers and staff in the school are recognised for the tremendous efforts put in to nurture young minds. Many Bendemeerians took the opportunity to take selfies and wefies with him when he walked around the school premises, and he was indeed very amiable as he engaged in multiple interactions with students and staff.

In Term 2, for our Let’s BDMS! programme on the first day of school , Ms Achaiya led a conversation on stage with two alumni members, Ms Nicole Tham and Mr Anoop Leonardo Felix. They shared how their years in Bendemeer Secondary School had helped shape their mindsets and beliefs, allowing them to Dare to Aspire to achieve greater heights. Later in the session, we were also presented with a video prepared by a third alumni member Mr Yao Ka Hao, who also shared with the school his inspiring story from years in Bendemeer Secondary School as a Normal (Technical) student and a Tchoukball player, to his current pursuit of a Nursing degree in the National University of Singapore (NUS). After the assembly programme, students had time to connect with their classmates and Class Mentors, sharing snacks and playing interactive games that got them to know one another better. What an excellent way to start our new term!

Term 3

Our ever supportive parents from the BDMS Parent Support Group (PSG) played an essential role on the very first school day of Term 3, pooling their skills and resources to create the electrifying atmosphere for our Youth Day celebrations! Staff and students were treated to an array of food and beverages, and were even presented with adorable balloon creations. In addition, the photo booths run by the PSG were an immense success, with numerous students and staff taking the opportunity to take multiple shots with their peers. We are indeed grateful for the generosity of our PSG members and would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in welcoming us back to school in style!

Apart from the sports competitions occurring throughout the levels, parents and staff were also running game stations that saw participants engage in fun activities like Chapteh, Five Stones and flipping bottles. Before the assembly ended with the prize presentations for the Sports Carnival, we were treated to song performances by Kaelyn and Joy, as well as our LEADs members, who also led the school in our mass dance. Ms Nurlily and Mrs Raditia then raised the bar with their creative rendition of the classic ‘Mamma Mia’, and the hall went wild when seventeen teachers took to the stage to rock to the ever-infectious APT against an amazingly creative background video that featured many other staff members bobbing their heads along! It was indeed an unforgettable first day of school and a wonderful way to celebrate Youth Day!

CLaPs!

(CLAPS! is an end-of-semester programme aimed at strengthening students’ awareness and competencies in the domains of Cognitive, Leadership, Aesthetics and Cultural, Physical, and Socio-emotional and Mental Well-being. The programme seeks to conclude the semester positively by providing opportunities for students to acquire new skills, develop constructive habits, and celebrate the efforts of both staff and students over the course of the term. Through participation in varied activities and exposure to new experiences, students are encouraged to begin the holiday period with positive emotions, enhanced skillsets, enduring habits, and purposeful engagement during the break. )

As part of CLAPS!, Bendemeerians were treated to a tantalising array of learning opportunities and acquired a variety of skills through a myriad of experiences. In the Aesthetics and Cultural domain, students visited sites across Singapore that are of historical, aesthetic and cultural significance, reinforcing their appreciation of the nation’s rich history and diverse culture. There were also opportunities for us to witness our students’ holistic development firsthand as they showcased their talents through performances on stage. Beyond the performing arts, students were introduced to the intricacies of puppetry, digital manga art, ceramic painting and other forms of artistic expression.

On the last day of school at the end of each semester, Bendemeerians rocked the stage with beautiful Angklung performances, energetic K-pop and urban hip-hop dances that had the audience cheering and tapping along to every beat, and soaring vocals and expressive guitar melodies. From precision and teamwork to confidence and stage presence, Bendemeerians demonstrated their talent, dedication and passion after their exposure to these carefully curated experiences prepared by the Total Curriculum committee.

CLaPs!

After their Term 2 Weighted Assessments and End-of-Year (EOY) examinations, our students participated in a range of CLAPS! programmes. This suite of activities was carefully curated to reinforce the Cognitive, Leadership, Aesthetics and Cultural, Physical, and Social-Emotional and Mental Well-being domains. For the Physical and Social-Emotional domains, students engaged in a variety of activities that often took them outdoors and provided opportunities for meaningful interaction and connection.

Our Secondary 1 students enhanced their abilities in teamwork by picking up Goalball and Kinball, while our Secondary 2 students embarked on outdoor orienteering and bowling sessions. The Secondary 3 students also had their fair share of fun, be it cycling around the central areas of our sunny island or building their resilience by tackling high element challenges! We are always delighted when Bendemeerians get to let their hair down and participate in such interesting and engaging activities, while interacting and connecting with their teachers and peers!

asseMBLy PrOGraMMes

Throughout the year, the weekly assembly programmes continued to provide extensive informative knowledge and joyful learning experiences. Many students also had the opportunity to take the lead during hall presentations, and participated actively in the various programmes prepared for them. Whether carried out by external vendors or organised by the Total Curriculum committee, these assembly sessions in the school hall come alive on Monday mornings, a great way to start the week by engaging the entire school population.These lively sessions have also been reinforced by several activities organised by different departments throughout the year and displays of students’ works at the school foyer. On many Friday mornings, we take the opportunity to celebrate our students’ successes and motivate one another during competition seasons for our various CCA groups. We also make it a point to end each semester together as a school in the hall, revelling in the joyous atmosphere and cheering one another on!

Our wonderful partnership with CARE Singapore has been reaping myriad rewards since January 2024, and the refreshed space, Our H.O.M.E. - Haven Of Motivation and Engagement, for our ASE programme, has been officially launched. Many students have since flocked to the H.O.M.E. during recess and after curriculum hours to connect with one another! Here, they get to relax through playing board and card games, foosball and carom, as well as interacting through meaningful conversations with the CARE mentors. We look forward to welcoming more students to make use of this refreshed BDMS space! Thank you, CARE mentors, for helping to take such great care of our students!

Bendemeer Secondary School’s Leaders Council (LEADS) consists of the top tier student leaders from the four leadership groups, which comprises Class Chairpersons, Peer Support Leaders, Student Councillors and CCA Leaders. Our LEADS are empowered to Lead, Elevate, Adapt, Direct and Serve the school and community through various platforms.

In Term 2, our newly minted LEADS members, who are at the pinnacle of the student leadership body, attended the 2025 Signing Ceremony together with their parents and guardians. This significant milestone has established their commitment to the BDMS - CARE SG Mentoring Programme, specially created to develop our youth leaders. With this partnership with CARE Singapore and its industry partners, Bendemeer Secondary School’s vision of nurturing critical thinkers, courageous leaders and caring contributors is elevated and we are indeed excited to see how our dear BDMS Student Leaders will grow and glow from here.

In October and November, our LEADS members, Student Councillors and CCA student leaders played an essential role in the school’s outreach and Open House efforts, engaging primary school students and their parents confidently and sharing more about the Bendemeerian Journey and what they could look forward to in Bendemeer Secondary School. At the same time, they showcased many key programmes, CCAs and school activities, and provided a clearer picture of the numerous initiatives we have embarked on. We are indeed proud of our student leaders for holding their heads high and making our school proud!

stUdent Leaders’ inVestitUre

The Student Leaders’ Investiture held on 21 April was a proud moment for our school as we inaugurated our new team of leaders comprising BDMS Class Chairpersons, Peer Support Leaders, CCA Leaders, Student Councillors and the Leaders Council (LEADS). The student population also witnessed the results of the Student Council Presidential election, as we welcomed Hafsa of Respect 6 as our newly appointed Student Council President, while Amelia of Respect 7 and Faustine of Respect 6 were appointed as Vice-Presidents.

As the different appointed representatives thanked and acknowledged their seniors for the hard work and dedication they had put in, it was encouraging for us to witness the young individuals showing their confidence and commitment as they promised to fulfill their promises and objectives in their upcoming terms as leaders. It was a solemn ceremony that was filled with symbolic gestures, heartwarming exchanges and warm applause, as we were filled with utmost pride watching our Bendemeerians who have dared to aspire to embark on their leadership journey pledge their dedication and readiness to serve the school and community.

Secondary 4 Work Experience Programme (January)

In 2025, the CCE department once again expanded the various Education and Career Guidance (ECG) programmes across all levels throughout the year. In addition to learning journeys and attending Open Houses at educational institutions, Bendemeerians have also been exposed to informative talks and workshops carried out by esteemed partners.

In January, a group of our Secondary 4 students participated in a work attachment programme for two weeks. During that time, they were attached to different industries and gained valuable experiences while they explored their interests and learnt the value of discipline and hard work.

2 Applied Learning Module (ApLM) (May)

and hot lattes! Our Secondary 2 students were now also well-versed in simple gamification and coding, planning sports engagement activities, organising fashion shows and planning games and activities suitable for the pre-school sector.

Secondary 2 & 3 Institute of Technical Education Experience (April & May)

Embedded within our Semester 1 CLAPS structure was the Secondary 2 Applied Learning Module (ApLM) - our students went through various modules and developed sufficient skills and confidence to showcase what they had learnt proudly to the rest of the school. The electrifying atmosphere in the school hall marked the amazing support and acknowledgment given by staff and students alike, with many queuing for their turns at the stations catering to manicure and facial services, as well as the F&B station serving mocktails

Secondary 3 Work Experience Programme

(October & November)

In late October and mid November, over 60 Secondary 3 students took part in the school’s Work Experience Programme, an initiative designed to expose students to real-world working environments and help them gain insights into various career paths.

On 20 May, Bendemeer Secondary School held our Annual Mass Run at Ang Mo Kio-Bishan Park! With fair weather and an unquenchable zest, Bendemeerians took to their heels once the signal was given, with many competing to attain glory for their class and CCA. It was a great morning to spend outdoors in the company of likeminded peers, and there was much cheer, applause and laughter among both staff and students as we cherished the time we had to enjoy physical activity together.

The prize presentation for the event was held on 29 May when the school gathered in the hall for the end-of-semester assembly. We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to all students who achieved the top positions, as well as the winner of each level and CCA group!

Secondary 1

With the unrestrained cheers of our Secondary 1 students even after a three day-two night camp echoing throughout the school premises this morning, we were simply amazed by the high level of energy displayed! Our fun-loving Secondary 1 students enjoyed their cohort camp immensely, be it their dragonboating experience at Kallang River, pitching tents in the school field or finding their way around the school premises blindfolded. From the get-go, our youngest Bendemeerians were demonstrating that they possessed lots of teamwork and great team spirit! It was evident that our Secondary 1 students became much more integrated in the dynamic culture of BDMS, and were prepared to continue their secondary school journey with motivation and zest!

Secondary 3

Our Secondary 3 students underwent a cohort camp for three days in January, and in that time, they were able to forge stronger bonds with their classmates. Although it might be intimidating starting upper secondary school life with less familiar faces, this camp provided multiple varied opportunities for our Bendemeerians to interact and connect with their peers. It was also gratifying to be able to spend some time outdoors; even though there were times when there was inclement weather, the classes still spent their time meaningfully engaged in indoor interactive games and preparing for their campfire item. All in all, our students from Respect 1 to Respect 7, together with their Class Mentors, Year Head, subject teachers and camp facilitators, definitely created great memories that they would cherish for a long time to come!

In the true spirit of motivating one another and strengthening our strengths, our Class Mentors and fellow Bendemeerians affirmed one another with our newly launched pro-social Star Bendemeerian Commendations! With our refreshed VMVM, we are delighted to be able to highlight students who have exemplified the school’s vision of becoming Critical Thinkers, Courageous Leaders and Caring Contributors. Throughout the year, we showed appreciation for the Star Bendemeerians of each level and their Class Mentors, with the Year Heads explaining how our students have demonstrated various values and competencies that their peers could learn from. PassinG OUt Parade

Bendemeer Secondary School’s Passing Out Parade (POP) for Uniformed Groups (UGs) took place on 24 April. Our Girl Guides, National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) and Red Cross Youth (RCY) took part in the symbolic ceremony that saw our Secondary 4 cadets pass the baton over to the Secondary 3 UG leaders. The camaraderie among the four Uniformed Groups was acknowledged and celebrated, and our HOD of PE and CCA, Mr Lee Chen Siang, presented awards and certificates of appreciation to welldeserving individuals. With this symbolic POP, it is clear that our young cadets and guides will continue to rise to the occasion and place their commitment and dedication towards achieving greater heights!

Infocomm Technology (Media Production)

The Infocomm Club offers students opportunities to explore technology, media, and innovation through hands-on learning in areas such as LEGO robotics, digital media production, content creation, and supporting key school events.

Students participated in the National Youth Tech Competition (NYTC) organised by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in collaboration with Google Cloud and other industry partners. NYTC exposed students to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and cloudbased solutions.

In Infocomm Club, I learned how to create a simple game using Construct 3. With the help of a kind and patient tutor, I discovered new aspects of game development and thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. Although it took time, it was worth it. I am grateful to the school for offering this fun, meaningful opportunity. Being in Infocomm Club is fun!

Braeden Oh (Adaptability 2)

I learned to create a LEGO robot using the LEGO Spike platform in Infocomm Club. Customising the robot and finding the best code helped unlock my creativity in a fun yet educational way. With my instructor’s guidance, I discovered new things about robotics. It took time to complete the robot, but it was worthwhile. I appreciate this enjoyable opportunity to learn coding and robotics!

Students also acquired valuable skills in drone operation, teamwork, and strategic gameplay in a specialised Drone Soccer training organised by the Association of Drone Soccer (Singapore).

Through the Singapore National Digital Explorer (NDE) programme, students applied digital literacy skills to solve real-world problems relating to productivity and the harnessing of emerging technologies for positive societal change.

A key highlight was the club’s learning journey to the AI Robotics Workshop and Competition. During the visit, students observed innovative demonstrations, participated in hands-on workshops, and gained insight into how AI-powered robots are designed and programmed to solve complex challenges.

Looking back on 2025, the year has provided meaningful opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of emerging technologies and develop both creative and critical thinking skills crucial for thriving in an increasingly digital world.

Joining the Infocomm Club has been an enriching experience. I learned to build and code LEGO robots and competed in friendly matches, which taught me patience and creativity. Beyond robotics, I also helped teachers backstage to smoothly run important school events. These experiences gave me valuable technical knowledge, teamwork skills, and a sense of achievement, and I’m grateful for the opportunities.

In Infocomm Club, I gained firsthand experience with LEGO robotics. Although I missed some sessions due to leadership duties, the tutor helped my friends and me catch up. Through his guidance, I learned coding while enjoying LEGO building, which is my favourite childhood toy. I’m grateful to enjoy fun, engaging learning experiences by being part of Infocomm.

2025 began with a vibrant performance at the Secondary One Orientation Showcase, followed by our honour of singing for 800 residents at the Kolam Ayer Chinese New Year Celebrations at Singapore Expo, where we also distributed handcrafted greeting cards and festive treats.

During the March break, we joined the Choral Exchange at Xinmin Secondary School with six other choirs, performing our Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) repertoire and receiving valuable feedback. In April, our dedication culminated in a Distinction Award at the SYF Arts Presentation. We are also deeply grateful to our parents, who not only perfected our stage looks through make-up and hairdo but also cheered us on during our performance. Semester 1 ended with a two-day outdoor camp at West Coast Park, where participating in kite flying and zip-lining strengthened our bonds.

In Term 3, we participated in the Singapore International Choral Festival (SICF) and proudly earned the Silver Award in the Under-19 Mixed Voices Category. We were also privileged to witness inspiring performances by talented international and local choirs. During the September break, we kept our voices active performing popular pieces such as Never Enough from the Greatest Showman in the 10th run of the Voices of Singapore festival. We also had great fun leading and participating in team bonding games during the choral exchange segment.

We are proud of how much we have learned and grown in 2025. May our 2026 journey continue to be as rich as our harmonies!

Hearing that we won “Distinction” at SYF was unforgettable. I felt proud of our teamwork and grateful for our conductors, Mr Yong and Ms Angila, whose guidance motivated us, along with the support from Ms Foo and other teachers. The post-SYF choir camp organised by Mrs Wong, Mdm Wang, and Mrs Poon was fantastic! Having fun together was the perfect way to celebrate and strengthen our bond. SYF gave us more than a trophy—it united us and gave us great confidence.

Being in choir taught me far more than music theory. I learned leadership, values, and gained confidence in speaking to others and addressing large groups—something I once struggled with. When I first joined in Secondary One, I was apprehensive, but the passion of the teachers, conductors, and choir members quickly changed that. Our CCas Concert Band

The Concert Band has had a vibrant and fulfilling year, marked by a range of performances that showcased both musical excellence and school pride. The year began on a high note with the Secondary One CCA Orientation, where our band welcomed new Secondary One students with an energetic performance, sparking interest and inspiring many to join our musical family. Throughout the year, the Concert Band continued to play an integral role in significant school events. During the Annual Speech and Awards Day, our band provided a dignified and uplifting musical backdrop to celebrate the achievements of our students and staff.

One of the key highlights of the year was our participation in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation. After months of rigorous rehearsals, our band delivered a polished and heartfelt performance that truly showcased the dedication, discipline, and unity of every member. What made the experience especially memorable was being awarded the Certificate of Distinction - a proud achievement that reflects the hard work and passion poured into every note.

Beyond school grounds, we engaged the wider community through our School Outreach programme, where we shared and inspired our love for music with the young audiences in several primary schools. The Concert Band remains a cornerstone of our school culture, proudly representing our values of excellence, perseverance, and harmony. Being in band has been a fun and unforgettable experience, even though the practices may be overwhelming at times. SYF was intense but rewarding. It was my first time on stage, and I’m proud I played well. I’m thankful for my senior Maya’s ehlp, and I now enjoy guiding my juniors, Felicia and Suhail, to improve too.

Band is like a family to me, with supportive teachers and conductors who believe in us. Performing in school and SYF gave us valuable exposure. I’ve grown as a double bass player, learning from my seniors and instructors. Our seniors inspire us, and every milestone– no matter how small– brings us closer as one united band.

This year marked a meaningful milestone as our Dance CCA grew to include Indian Dance, uniting both genres as one family. Our dancers brought colour and vibrancy to school life through various performances. The year began with an energetic “Welcome Back to School” showcase by Modern Dance, setting an upbeat tone.

During Speech Day, both Indian and Modern dancers delivered an inspiring performance that elevated the celebration. A key highlight was the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), where Modern Dance earned the Certificate of Accomplishment, while Indian Dance proudly achieved the Certificate of Distinction.

A standout moment was the National Day celebration, where both teams performed a heartfelt collaborative tribute, symbolising unity and pride.

These meaningful experiences gave students opportunities to express their creativity, build strong friendships, and grow as leaders and team players. 2025 has been a truly fulfilling year of growth, expression, and togetherness for all involved.

My dance experience has been both challenging and fun. There were many obstacles along the way, especially during the preparation for SYF. It wasn’t easy at first, but the dancers and I gave our best effort. Our seniors were incredibly supportive and were always willing to guide the juniors, which made a big difference.

Despite the challenges, our practices were filled with smiles and laughter. Training with the whole dance team under our instructor, Mr Jay, was truly enjoyable. The bond we share makes every session meaningful and fun.

My CCA experience has been fun and fulfilling. I enjoyed learning new dance styles like the down bounce and LA walk. We could also bond with members from different levels through various activities. Despite some ups and downs, it has been a meaningful and enjoyable journey with my dance team.

Fun memories, our instructor’s support, and the seniors’ farewell made SYF unforgettable. I’ve grown more resilient and bonded with my peers. I will always cherish this meaningful experience.

Our CCas English Drama

This year, English Drama received a bumper crop of 17 gung-ho Secondary Ones. They performed for the seniors during the Secondary Four farewell party in June, impressing all who watched their act.

As part of our inclusive philosophy, all Secondary Two to Four members were involved in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Art Presentation. Besides the main cast, our stage mangers were unsung heroes who worked tirelessly backstage handling props, lighting, sound, costumes, and make-up. Our performance – The Story of a Girl – was awarded the Certificate of Commendation. We performed a short excerpt of it for Speech Day.

Theatre Experience was the final activity everyone took part in. The play, Animal Farm, exposed us to the fascinating world of puppetry.

Our final performance for the year during Staff Appreciation Day gave us the opportunity to thank all teachers and non-teaching staff who have made school life such a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Indeed, we have all enjoyed this year’s journey. May 2026 be even more enriching!

Our CCas Girl Guides

2025 was a remarkable year for the Girl Guides of Bendemeer Secondary School as the unit demonstrated its spirit of teamwork and excellence through a range of impactful events and competitions. For World Thinking Day at Singapore Expo, our Guides set up a booth to advocate for mental health awareness, engaging Guides and Brownies with interactive and educational content. Bendemeer Secondary School also proudly hosted the South Division Fest, welcoming nearly 1,000 Guides and Brownies in the South Division. Our Guides showcased their talents, with Keisha, Clover, Aalia, and Narumuhai winning 2nd place in the Choral Reading competition. Meanwhile, Navya, Sarisha, Salina and Minisha earned 3rd place in the Snack Making Competition. These achievements reflect the dedication, teamwork, and leadership of our Guides as they continue to serve and inspire others. We look forward to another year of learning, leadership and making a positive impact. Once a Guide, always a Guide!

My experience as the Company Leader in Girl Guides has been fun, and it taught me more about leadership. It helps me in my personal development in aspects such as time management. Leading the Girl Guides has also given me the opportunity to better educate others in various aspects of our CCA, such as mental health and gender equality.

As the Assistant Company Leader, I am constantly inspired by our Guides’ growth. Witnessing our Guides tackle difficulties and overcome obstacles during our CCA sessions is incredibly rewarding. In addition, I have learnt that prior planning for the training sessions is crucial as it ensures engaging activities that nurture our potential. Guiding is more than just carrying out activities. Being a part of Girls’ Guide is a great experience. I had fun joining the snack competition at the South Division Fest with my friends. We were happy to win third place! I also enjoyed the 3-day-2night camp, where we spent time together outdoors and learned many valuable life-skills.

Our CCas National Cadet Corps

2025 has been a rewarding year for the Bendemeer NCC (Land) unit. We obtained Distinction for our annual Unit Recognition in 2024. This is testament to the hard work and commitment put in by our teacher officers, cadet officers, specialists and cadets.

We continued to expose our cadets to a wide range of activities which challenges them both mentally and physically. Our Sec 2 and Sec 1 cadets attended Camp STEEL and Camp FORGE at NCC HQ in March and July to instil discipline and resilience in them. Cadets were also given opportunities to hone their marksmanship skills with the Sec 2 cadets attending an air rifle shoot while our Sec 3 cadets got to fire live rounds from the SAR 21 rifle. To develop teamwork and leadership in our cadets, they were exposed to a bouldering experiential programme, where the cadets mustered the courage to overcome their fear of heights and adapted to challenges. Our Freestyle Drills team also gave an impressive performance at the Annual Freestyle Drills Competition at NCC HQ and showcased their performance during the school’s Speech Day.

Changing my CCA to NCC has really changed my attitude about going for CCA. It has helped me to gain many friends and learn about teamwork and leadership through drills and activities. 2025 was a dynamic and fulfilling year for our cadets, filled with opportunities for growth and camaraderie. Our Sec 3 cadets took the lead in organising a memorable unit camp for the incoming Sec 1s, which included a thrilling air pistol experience. The Sec 2s, on the other hand, tested their resilience and teamwork at the Adventure Training Camp at Pulau Ubin.

Beyond camps, the unit embarked on a scenic hike from school to Marina Bay Sands, fostering both fitness and unity. Our cadets also rose to the challenge in various competitions — Sec 3 cadets demonstrated focus and precision in the .22 Revolver competition, while Sec 2 cadets applied critical thinking in the Crime Scene Investigation competition.

Through these varied experiences, our cadets developed not only practical skills, but also a deeper sense of responsibility, teamwork and confidence. The friendships forged and lessons learnt this year will stay with them for years to come, both in and out of the Corps.

My experience in NPCC has been truly amazing! Our CCas Red Cross Youth

In 2025, Red Cross Youth cadets participated in many fruitful and enriching activities. Starting the year with the annual Red Cross Championship, our junior and senior teams spent many hours practising life-saving skills in preparation for emergencies. Their hard work paid off with the junior and senior teams attaining the Silver award in their respective categories. Cadets also took part in Values in Action projects where they spent time befriending the elderly at Kwong Wai Shiu Cares. They prepared art and craft activities and the elderly and cadets enjoyed the time spent making the craft together. Giving back to the community and serving the school have always been part of the Red Cross humanitarian mission, and the cadets are ever willing to support school events like the Mass Run and Sports Carnival, rendering basic first aid to casualties whenever needed. Moving forward, Red Cross Youth looks forward to embracing challenges and more exciting opportunities for the rest of the year, and will continue to strive for excellence. Humanity In Our Hands!

I enjoyed taking part in the Senior First Aid Competition. I have learnt that teamwork is key in striving for excellence. Another activity I enjoyed doing is the Smoke-Free project. Since I was the only Sec 3 in the group, I needed to assign tasks to my juniors. Through this project, I learnt to step up as a leader and ensure that they complete the tasks by the deadline. The last activity I enjoyed was the Unit Leader Programme which was for incoming Presidents. From the programme, I learnt how to communicate with cadets kindly but firmly and also solve problems which we might not have anticipated.

I have enjoyed the Unit Specialist Programme as I refreshed my knowledge of how to use a stretcher and learnt how to teach the younger cadets to do that. I also learnt the harmful effects of smoking during the Smoke-Free campaign learnt the effective ways to decline offers to vape. Lastly, I learnt the importance of teamwork and communication from taking part in the First Aid Competition. During the competition, my teammates and I worked together to bandage 3 casualties and transport them. From these exciting events, I was able to learn and grow as a cadet. They allowed me to become a good leader as I learnt how to better myself as a person.

The combined UG hike every year is different which makes it fun and allows me to explore places I have not been to and I have learnt from the UG hikes that it is more fun hiking with others than by myself as we get to enjoy fun moments and bond with our CCA mates. The Unit Specialist Program has taught me how to teach my juniors to the best of my ability. I will treasure every moment in Red Cross Youth as this will be one of my last years in the school and the CCA.

Joining Red Cross Youth has been an unforgettable experience for me. Throughout my CCA journey, I participated in many activities such as the Unit Specialist Programme (USP), First Aid Championship (FAC) and the Smoke-Free VIA Campaign. I really enjoyed USP as it allowed me to develop leadership skills and gain deeper knowledge about Red Cross. FAC was exciting because it challenged my teamwork and first aid skills in a fun and competitive way. The Smoke-Free Campaign helped me spread awareness about the disadvantages of vaping. Red Cross Youth programmes have taught me discipline, compassion, and the importance of helping others.

This year, the school’s Cross Country team has the privilege to have Mr Faris as our coach. The team also received many new members from the Sec 1 cohort. Under Coach Faris’s tutelage, many members learned a lot about running and improved in their skills. Despite the gruelling weekly training sessions, the team also enjoyed several opportunities to bond and have fun together through various running games Coach Faris conducted.

Cross Country has helped me become more resilient by pushing me past my limits. Through every challenge, I learned the value of courage to show up, push through, and keep growing. One memorable moment was during the NSG relay. It was my first. I gave it my all, didn’t qualify, but had fun and did my best.

Cross Country has helped me with my discipline as I would try to find time every weekend to train while keeping up with my studies. I have become more aware of how I spend my time now!

The team has participated in the WINGS-ActiveSG Cross Country Championships, the National School Games Cross Country and Track and Field Championships, and the Olympic Day Run. Most members have participated in at least one event, which inspired them to train hard for their individual and team goals. Though the competition faced this year was tough, each participating member was able to achieve their personal best performance. The team thanks Coach Faris for his guidance and continues to strive forward next year.

Cross country is more than just a CCA to me, it is a purpose in life and a key to discipline. Though I only joined this CCA in Sec 2, I was able to make memories that will never fade.

Being part of Cross Country has helped me become more disciplined and resilient. The tough training and long-distance runs taught me to keep going even when I feel tired. One memorable moment was finishing my first NSG race this year. I was really exhausted and even one round behind everyone else, but I felt proud that I didn’t give up. That experience taught me perseverance, which I now try to apply in my schoolwork too. I also learned to respect and encourage my teammates. Cross Country has made me stronger both physically and mentally, and I’m thankful for everything I’ve learned.

Our CCas Football

2025 marked a truly remarkable chapter in our football journey.

Our C Division Boys attained 3rd in League 1, an outstanding achievement never before accomplished by Bendemeer Secondary School. The entire school rallied behind the team, with students and staff heading to the National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub to cheer them on during this unforgettable moment. Their performance stands as a powerful reminder of what passion, perseverance, and unity can achieve. The C Boys Football Team has also achieved Colours Award.

Our B Division Boys also did us proud in their debut season in League 1. Displaying admirable determination and resilience, they secured their place in League 1 for 2026—an accomplishment that positions them among the top 16 football schools in Singapore. Their journey reflects the team’s grit and commitment to excellence at the highest level of school football.

Together, these milestones highlight the rapid growth and strengthening of our football programme under the SFA initiative, powered by the dedication of our players and coaches. Adding to the excitement, our Girls’ Football Team will be participating in the NSG for the very first time next year—an inspiring step forward as we continue to expand opportunities for student-athletes across the school.

It has been an incredible journey this year for Football, filled with challenges, growth, and unforgettable moments. Playing at the National Stadium was unforgettable. Hearing the school cheer for us made me feel proud to be part of the team. Standing on the pitch at the Sports Hub gave me goosebumps. It showed me how far our team has come. I am so proud to be the captain of the C Division Boys team. The lessons of resilience, teamwork, and confidence will stay with me long after the season ends.

Competing in the National School Games has taught me to handle setbacks positively and stay resilient under pressure. When the whole school came to support us at the National Stadium, it made me want to give my best on the field. It was a dream come true. My parents and I will never forget that experience. This year, I got to participate in the National School Games, an experience I’ll never forget. Representing the school in League 1 for the first time was a big challenge, but the coaches and seniors helped me stay confident. Throughout the year, our coaches always motivated me to do my best. They created an environment where I felt comfortable learning and improving my skills. The teachers-in-charge were also really supportive, whether it was cheering for us during games or encouraging us when we felt down after a tough match. The team spirit is amazing. No matter win or lose, we would support each other all the way.

We feel honored to be the first batch of girls in Football CCA and also one of the only few school in Singapore that offered Girls Football as CCA. I’ve learned so much from our coaches, not just about football but also about discipline, teamwork, and resilience. We also participated in our first tournament during October Super 7 SFA tournament. It was an incredible experience and we cannot wait to play our first NSG next year.

Our Taekwondo CCA delivered an outstanding performance at the National School Games (NSG) 2025, securing an impressive haul of 4 Silver and 4 Bronze medals across both Poomsae and Kyorugi events. Demonstrating skill, resilience, and sportsmanship, Chin Wenn Yoke (Respect 2), Juno Alexander Pope (Respect 7), Wang Jiahong (Adaptability 3), and Isaac Tan Jun Quan (Excellence 7) each brought home Silver in their respective Kyorugi divisions.

In the Bronze category, we celebrate the achievements of Koh Yu Yang (Excellence 8), Tay Trinh Anh Huan (Respect 1), Palaniappan Monish (Excellence 8) in Poomsae, as well as Amelia Ng Yu Xin (Respect 7), Jasmine Soong SuAn (Excellence 1), and Tay Trinh Anh Huan (Respect 1) again in Kyorugi, who showcased grit and determination on the mat.

Tchoukball

2025 has been fulfilling for the Tchoukball team. Our players have once again proven that determination, discipline, and dedication pave the way to success.

Training diligently twice a week, the boys and girls gave it their best during the 3rd Active SG-TBAS Inter-Schools Championships. The boys fought hard from start to end and emerged 2nd runner up.

The girls gave a strong showing and narrowly missed out on a top-4 finish, embodying our motto, “Respect All, Fear None”.

We are immensely proud of our athletes and we congratulate all of them for their incredible efforts. Each trophy and medal won is not just a mark of success, but a symbol of the spirit, unity, and hard work that define Bendemeer Secondary’s sporting culture. On 4 September, the vibrant Bendemeer spirit illuminated our Staff Appreciation Day! We celebrated and honoured every teaching and non-teaching staff member of our BDMS Familyfrom our youngest Beginning Teachers to our oldest Security Uncles, and everyone in between. Apart from the delightful class parties organised by the students to commemorate this special day, this year, all teaching and non-teaching staff also received Gratitude Cards that contained heartfelt messages submitted by students and fellow staff members. In addition, the concert included many performances that touched everyone’s hearts with the love and sincerity expressed by students, parents and CCA groups.

Throughout the year, the BDMS family has had many different opportunities to be involved in staffbonding activities and professional development. The Staff Well-being Committee has put in place monthly birthday celebrations and organised various fun games and activities for staff members to interact and connect with one another. Apart from regular professional learning sessions in school, staff members also participate actively during staff engagement sessions in November.

On 13 November, the BDMS teaching and non-teaching staff celebrated the end of the school year in style, coming together for a sumptuous lunch and entertaining one another with highly energetic performances! With the theme of ‘Alternative Careers and Professions’, the different departments put up skits and dances that brought the house down! From sumo wrestlers and Baywatch lifeguards, to Demon Hunters and international and local celebrities, the BDMS staff unleashed their talents and displayed their astonishing camaraderie.

Our youthful emcees, Mr Jon Lim and Ms Ng En Qi, performed their roles well with their natural confidence and charismatic presence, and we are deeply appreciative of the amazing efforts put in by the Staff Well-Being committee to organise the event. All in all, it was indeed a wonderful way for the BDMS family to end the academic year!

Bendemeer Secondary School has been blessed with an extremely strong and supportive PSG, with many PSG members participating actively in school activities and playing a significant role in enhancing the educational experience and overall well-being of our students. Apart from taking part in our annual Mass Run and Speech Day and attending parenting engagement workshops, the PSG also contributed greatly to our BDMS Youth Day celebrations, in conjunction with our Term 3 Let’s BDMS! programme. The PSG brought in yummy treats and sponsored a photobooth with really fun and unique props, delighting many staff and students who took the opportunity to capture numerous memorable shots, elevating the joyous atmosphere of our first day of school. They were also present during our SG60 Community Outreach efforts, as well as at our C Division Football boys’ historic win at the National Stadium in August! Thank you, esteemed members of the PSG! We are really grateful for such thoughtful and magnanimous gestures!

Parent teaCher MeetinGs

BDMS held our face-to-face Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on the last day of each semester. We are indeed grateful for the opportunity to connect, as we are sincere in strengthening this valued partnership with all parents and guardians. During these sessions, our teachers shared the students’ strengths and areas for improvement. At the same time, our Bendemeerians practised self-leadership by sharing their reflections on how the semester had gone for them, as well as how they were going to make good use of their vacation time to close certain gaps while continuing to strive for excellence. We really cherish this chance to spend some quality time with our valued partners, and look forward to engaging all parents and guardians fruitfully again.

Secondary 1 VIA

On 22 October, our Secondary 1 students celebrated the dedication and hard work of our nonteaching staff, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the school running smoothly each day. Students put in much effort to prepare performances, food, and interactive booths as expressions of gratitude. Prior to Appreciation Day, students interviewed these unsung heroes and shared their findings with their classmates. This helped them gain a deeper understanding of the staff’s job scopes and daily challenges, fostering awareness and empathy. Building on these interactions, students prepared appreciation packs and handwritten cards to express their heartfelt thanks. The programme culminated in a meaningful Appreciation Day, celebrating the contributions of our non-teaching staff.

Our school partnered with St Andrew’s Nursing Home and Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital to provide opportunities for Secondary 2 students to engage with the elderly. The Secondary 2 VIA was designed using the Design Thinking process. Students were guided through lessons involving case studies and experiential learning, including the use of props to help them empathise with the challenges faced by the elderly. They also interviewed elderly residents or eldercare staff to better understand their needs. Through this process, students developed a deeper appreciation of the physical, emotional, and dietary needs and constraints of the elderly.

Secondary 3 VIA

Our Secondary 3 VIA projects are grounded in social issues explored during Social Studies lessons, using inquiry-based learning to design authentic and practical projects that contribute to the community. Students explored two themes — Keeping Singapore Safe and Healthy Living — sharing ways to stay safe and promoting healthy habits. In collaboration with Big Hearts Student Care Centre, students designed interactive presentations, quizzes, and activities, and spent an afternoon engaging the children to raise awareness of these issues.

Secondary 4 VIA

The Secondary 4 students used what they have learnt in Social Studies to think about the climate change issues via Inquiry-Based Learning for their VIA project. This also broadens their perspectives on issues faced by the world. Students then spent time to plan out an Earth Hour Graphic Design to raise awareness on the severity of climate change and advocate every individual’s responsibility to do his part. The culmination of the VIA efforts saw students participating in the Earth Hour challenge and reflecting on their experiences.

seCOndary 1 OrientatiOn

The first few days of school in the year were filled with lots of fun and laughter, thanks to the amazing efforts of our student leaders and staff running the Secondary 1 Orientation programme! Indeed, the youngest members of our ever growing family entered with initial jitters that were all quickly dispelled within such a short period of time! It’s been heartening to witness the camaraderie among students within their classes, as well as among the entire cohort! We are indeed so proud of all our Secondary 1 students, for overcoming their own jitters and fears of embarking on their secondary school journey.

We were also thankful to all Secondary 1 students and their parents who made their way to Bendemeer Secondary School for our CCA showcase andParent-Teacher Meeting session on a HBL day, even though it was raining almost the whole day on 10 January! It was a substantially big turnout despite the inclement weather, and we were sincerely grateful for the opportunity to connect with them. And indeed, many connections were made today! From Secondary 1 students and parents exploring the CCA booths and attending the sessions in the hall, to meeting the Class Mentors and clarifying doubts and queries with teachers, the precious few hours in the evening were really well-spent.

Chinese new year CeLeBratiOn

On the eve of Chinese New Year, we celebrated the ushering of the Year of the Snake with joyous songs and celebratory dances. Our enthusiastic and talented performers overwhelmed the audience with both nostalgic and contemporary pieces, and staff and students responded with equally passionate cheers and applause. The Gods of Prosperity brought in the highest level of excitement with their appearances, and it was indeed a great way of starting the CNY festivities for the year!

On 7 February, we held our annual Staff Lo Hei after a fun and engaging Professional Development session. This year, teaching and non-teaching staff were grouped according to their Chinese Zodiac signs, and tossed their Lo Hei together with colleagues of similar traits and personalities. It was indeed a joyous way to partake in this tradition with everyone. May all be blessed with abundance, prosperity and good health in the Year of the Snake! Huat ah!

tOtaL defenCe day

On 10 February, we commemorated Total Defence Day with an assembly talk by our invited guest speaker ME1 Sarbjeet Singh, an Air Force Engineer from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). We were enthralled by the interesting facts and information about military defence, and Bendemeerians were eager to share their own understanding of the six pillars of Total Defence as well. Following that, Mr Lawrence Ng and Nithish of Respect 4 engaged the school in recalling what we went through last year, before introducing this year’s focus on taking part in a power disruption exercise.

After the assembly session, staff and students went through an hour of lessons with all lights and fans switched off. The staffrooms also had the lights and air-conditioning turned off for an hour. This simulated exercise played an important role in raising our awareness and encouraging everyone to plan for potential disruptions, strengthen continuity plans for power disruptions or phishing attacks, and to prepare to respond effectively. It was indeed a meaningful way to commemorate Total Defence Day and be part of Exercise SG Ready 2025!

internatiOnaL friendshiP day & hari raya CeLeBratiOns

On 7 April, different groups of Bendemeerians rallied together to lead the morning assembly programme. Several students came up on stage to share heartwarming stories about forming connections with one another in spite of the different nationalities they hailed from, reinforcing the notion of international friendship. In addition, our Muslim staff and students also took the lead in performing a few tunes in celebration of Hari Raya, in addition to different students sharing how the festival is celebrated in different parts of the world. Indeed, the morning was an opportune time to gain knowledge and deepen understanding about various cultural aspects, and bask in the warmth of the deep friendships shared amongst the BDMS family.

On 11 April, after an enriching Staff Professional Development (PD) session, the BDMS staff celebrated Hari Raya as a family, enjoying huge plates of Nasi Ambeng together in groups, and learning more about this delicious tradition from our Muslim colleagues. The hearty meal brought generous smiles and cheery laughter to every group, as we ate and chatted together with colleagues from different departments.

raCiaL harMOny day

On 21 July, Bendemeer Secondary School commemorated Racial Harmony Day by having our staff in the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) committee put up an engaging and interactive skit. Though the audience members - with many decked in ethnic wear - enjoyed the lively performances put up by Mrs Eileen Ho, Mr Lawrence Ng, Ms Shamini, Mr Hakim and Mdm Karamjit Kaur, the messages about the need to avoid casual racism and the importance of maintaining our social fabric were indeed heartfelt and inspiring. Mr Timothy Ong and Mr Roger Lim contributed to the process by getting students to select different options in order to see how the skit would continue, and it was really impressive to see how our gung ho staff reacted accordingly while still delivering the messages effectively. Kudos to the team!

Our very own Bendemeerians played the role of caring contributors well, participating actively in two community events that were organised as part of our nation’s SG60 celebrations! On 2 August, students of Bendemeer Secondary School helped out at the Kolam Ayer National Day Fiesta, graced by Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Wan Rizal. Similarly on 3 August, Bendemeerians made themselves seen and heard at the SG60 celebration organised by Geylang West Community Centre, with Minister for Digital Development and Information of Singapore Mrs Josephine Teo gracing the occasion. We are indeed proud of our students for practising so much responsibility, respect and self-leadership as they carried out their duties, and are indeed heartened that on both occasions, Dr Rizal and Mrs Teo praised them for growing up to become fine individuals and for contributing to the community.

natiOnaL day CeLeBratiOns

On 8 August, before our celebrations in the school hall, staff and students went through a meaningful classroom activity prepared by the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) department! Through four different stations, we got to understand our nation’s history and economic development better, with Bendemeerians collaborating actively in their groups to accomplish the tasks. It was indeed a meaningful way to commemorate Singapore’s growth for the past 60 years while looking forward and charting our continued successes ahead!

As part of our SG60 celebrations, our Uniformed Groups (UGs) comprising of our cadets from Girl Guides, National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) and Red Cross Youth put in tremendous effort in order to make the parade segment a grand occasion. There were a lot of careful coordination and dedicated practices behind the scenes as the four UGs worked together to create the momentous formation for our SG60 commemoration.

The school hall was filled with cheer, applause and much appreciation as the BDMS family reveled in the unadulterated joy of our nation’s 60th birthday. The atmosphere was electrifying while the items flowed along, with our entertaining emcees conducting the highly anticipated SG60 quiz amidst excited squeals and lively laughter. In addition, our hearts were stolen by our special guests from PCF Sparkle Tots, as the BDMS family once again played host to the adorable toddlers in this annual collaboration. Indeed, they brought much sparkle and cheer to our SG60 celebrations, not only with their very wellrehearsed song and dance performances, but also with their genuine joy and excitement while participating actively in our SG60 quiz.

The memorable occasion closed with the community singing segment, and our spirited staff and students sang and grooved along to the beloved National Day songs that we have all grown up with and cherish up till this very day!

LUnCh tiMe COnCerts

(14 MarCh & 22 aUGUst)

Our first lunchtime concert in 2025 was held on 14 March, when Bendemeerians flocked to the school library after school for the end-of-term lunchtime concert! Our talented musicians sang their hearts out and played various instruments, impressing their fans and supporters. It was a wonderful way to end Term 1, as our aspiring performers showcased their musical abilities to an appreciative audience!

After the Term 3 weighted assessments were finally over, it was time to celebrate with our second lunchtime concert on 22 August! It was indeed a cosy time, with our talented performers serenading their supportive friends with their crisp vocals or showing their deftness with the guitar or keyboard. Ms Lu Yueh Ru also demonstrated her vocal prowess with the finale item, captivating the enraptured crowd with her skill and passion. Our budding performers delighted and motivated fellow Bendemeerians with their musical talents!

PUrPLe Parade

On 23 October, Bendemeerians participated in thought-provoking activities, from navigating obstacles in wheelchairs to experiencing challenges when faced with visibility issues, providing a powerful glimpse into the daily challenges faced by others with disabilities. They also made personal pledges, wrote heartfelt messages on the Purple Parade Board, and captured these meaningful moments at the photo booth! We continue to Get INclusive with the @purpleparade movement! Inclusivity is not just a value, it’s an action we embrace every day!

deePaVaLi CeLeBratiOn

On 23 October, we celebrated Deepavali as a school - honouring heritage, spreading warmth, and embracing the rich traditions that make our community so special. We began the celebration with a meaningful presentation of Garland and the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and the start of our festive celebrations. The event continued with a stunning performance by our Indian Dance group! Students also had an exciting opportunity to learn about different Indian instruments and even try them out on stage. It was truly a day filled with colours, culture, and community spirit!

GradUatiOn CereMOny

On 26 September, our Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025 was a celebration of cherished memories and heartfelt gratitude. Each graduand’s growth journey was nurtured by our devoted BDMS family - our dedicated teachers, administrative and support staff, parents and partnerswho guided them with care every step of the way. Our graduands were heartened to receive the BDMS school jacket and graduation bears as their gifts, on top of the graduation hats, balloons and soft toys they had already received from their Class Mentors. Many parents who came that day to witness their children’s graduation also got to enjoy a sumptuous lunch and took the opportunity to capture memories of this milestone at the photobooth!

OUtreaCh tO PriMary sChOOLs

Over a few weeks in October and November, the Communications and Engagement Committee had the privilege of visiting more than ten primary schools as part of our outreach efforts! We are indeed thankful to these primary schools for allowing our school leaders, staff and students to share a slice of the BDMS journey, and are delighted to have received really positive feedback with regard to our outreach efforts. Whether the primary school students were engaging in conversations with our staff and students at exhibition booths, participating actively in our quizzes, paying attention to our presentations or cheering and applauding our student performers, we have indeed gained meaningful connections and learnt from all these experiences!

OPen hOUse

On 15 November, Bendemeer Secondary School held our annual Open House. The Saturday morning saw hundreds of visitors flock to our school premises, and staff and students welcomed all of them with open arms! During our Principal’s Address, there were energetic performances by the Dance and Taekwondo CCA members, as well as informative segments provided by staff, students and our PSG representative. In addition, there were plenty of hands-on activities at the various booths for our visitors to get a taste of the BDMS Journey, and our Concert Band amped up the celebratory atmosphere with multiple melodious pieces. Many meaningful and delightful connections were made with P6 students and their parents, and all our students present played their roles as ambassadors of the school well.

On 27 November, we carried out our E Open House 2025, and we could not be more thankful for the positive response! Our Principal, Ms Foo, shared important nuggets of information about the BDMS journey and what potential students and parents can look forward to in terms of enjoying a holistic education in Bendemeer Secondary School. At the same time, it was gratifying to note our participants’ genuine interest in learning more about our school premises and culture, and we were delighted to have been able to answer many of the queries posed!

Among all my school memories, one stands out clearly — Staff Appreciation Day. The whole school was buzzing with activity as students prepared surprises for their Class Mentors. Watching my classmates work together naturally made me realise that unity and kindness can turn an ordinary event into something truly unforgettable.

One of my most unforgettable experiences this year was Sports Carnival. Although I’m not very sporty, it was meaningful because my class cheered loudly and supported one another. Even when our games were paused by the rain, we enjoyed the tasty snacks provided by the Parents Support Group and grew closer as a class. Winning third and first place for different events strengthened our bond.

The Secondary 1 Camp was an unforgettable experience for me. I had a lot of fun getting to know my new classmates, especially while taking part in activities together. If I had the chance to go on another camp with the same class, I would gladly take it!

During the CLAPS programme, the school planned many fun activities to try new things, like kinball. I don’t think I would have experienced these without the school’s support. Doing everything with my friends made it even more enjoyable!

Football is my comfort zone because it helps me clear my mind and take a break from stress. It also brought me closer to my friends. One of the most unforgettable experiences this year was the trip to the Science Centre during the post-examination CLAPS! We learnt how to make pizza from scratch. Being able to eat the pizza we made by ourselves made the pizza taste even better.

A positive experience this year was joining the BDMS community that felt warm and welcoming from the start. Seniors showed me the ropes, teachers guided me, and peers helped me feel a sense of belonging. Their encouragement and support eased my transition and gave me courage, making my first year in secondary school a reassuring and memorable beginning.

One of my most positive experiences in BDMS was the Secondary 1 Cohort Camp. My classmates and I supported one another, laughed a lot, and grew closer as we participated in many fun activities like dragon boating. This experience, which enabled me to make new friends, made me more confident and made school feel like a second home.

Goalball was one of the most enjoyable school activities this year. Through the game, I learnt to coordinate better with my classmates and support one another by guiding our players to locate the ball. Even blindfolded, teamwork and clear communication helped us play effectively, making the experience both fun and meaningful.

The Secondary 2 Cohort Trip to Johor Bahru was an unforgettable experience. I learnt that although Malaysia is geographically close to Singapore, its culture is remarkably different. My friends and I had a great time tasting and learning how to make local delicacies such as ondeh-ondeh. Another highlight of the trip was the visit to Zenxin Organic Farm, where we learnt about agriculture and how scented packets are made from farm-grown plants.

One of the most unforgettable experiences I had was the trip to Johor Bahru that was thoughtfully planned for us by the school. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend meaningful time with my classmates, enjoy delicious food, and explore new places. I am also grateful for the chance to bond with our teachers, who have always guided and supported us with kindness throughout the year. This year, my exams taught me a powerful lesson about adaptability. A few papers were far more challenging than I had expected. However, instead of panicking, I took a deep breath, stayed focused, and adjusted my approach. I realised that adaptability isn’t just about handling change, but about turning obstacles into opportunities to grow stronger and in confidence.

The Secondary 1 Camp last year is a special experience that I will always cherish. Through engaging activities and team challenges, we learned valuable new skills such as cooking, and formed strong bonds with one another. The camp helped me become a more confident and responsible team player.

The time I spent with my friends during the Secondary Two Cohort Johor Bahru trip strengthened our bonds. I will never forget the time spent at the Superfruits Farm. I successfully extracted honey from a beehive and also got to see unfamiliar animals such as exotic geckos and porcupines. I also enjoyed Batik painting, which allowed me to expand my creativity.

This year, BDMS took us bowling at SAFRA Toa Payoh for CLAPS! At first, the pins seemed out of reach. No matter how hard I tried, my throws kept disappearing into the gutter like missed opportunities. Instead of giving up, I studied my own movements and made small adjustments. When I finally rolled a strike, I realised that progress begins not with perfection, but focus and perseverance.

2025 has taught me the importance of adaptability and courage. As a foreign student, entering school was not easy at first. I have learnt to take failure in my stride and keep trying to improve. I have also become braver by making new friends despite my shyness and have grown more confident through the process.

During the memorable Secondary Two Cohort Johor Bahru trip, I learnt to be adaptable when it rained during our farm visit. I learnt to find joy in teamwork despite unexpected changes in plans.

Bendemeer Secondary has guiding principles and motto that have helped shape my life in a positive way so far in my school journey. The JB cohort trip has “strengthened my strengths” by exposing me to crucial life skills and positive life experiences that will lend me strength in future.

2025 showed me the importance of teamwork. During an Infocomm competition, we faced many challenges, but my teammates and I managed to persevere. We may not have won, but we all managed to make a learning opportunity out of the experience.

One unforgettable moment was Sports Carnival. The energy, teamwork, and cheers created such a strong sense of unity. It reminded me how privileged I am to belong to a supportive BDMS community.

Representing the school in the Track & Field NSG was unforgettable. When I struggled to finish the race, the support from teachers, coach, seniors, and spectators pushed me forward. This experience taught me the true meaning of sportsmanship. I will be resilient, persevere, and always give my best.

I went on a school trip to Beijing and Tianjin, China. At first I didn’t know anyone going on the trip, so I was nervous about how things would turn out. But along the way, I started talking to others and slowly made new friends. The teachers who went with us were also very kind and open, which made everyone feel comfortable. I didn’t expect to feel so connected to people I barely knew before the trip. This experience was special to me because it showed me how quickly friendships can form when everyone is kind and open. One of the best memories I have of 2025 is the camp at the start of the year. It has allowed everyone in the newly formed class to make more friends. I miss the camp so much and wish I could go back to the same place with my classmates again! One place in school where I also have a lot of fond memories is the study area outside the library where I would study with my friends and also chit chat and spend time with them. I have learnt a lot this year in school from my friends, classmates and teachers and hope to continue learning more and graduate with my classmates next year.

Having participated in all of the Literary Walks organised by the EL Department, I have learnt more about Singapore in ways I have never expected. One such walk was to Kampung Lorong Buangkok, where I have learnt more about kampungs in Singapore, enriching myself in the history of these forms of housing in Singapore. This allows me to become more aware of how Singapore came to be, thus helping me feel more connected to Singapore as a citizen.

I’m deeply thankful for my friends who filled 2025 with joy and strength. Their laughter has brightened up tough days and their support kept me going. From shared secrets to endless jokes, every moment reminded me how friendship brings comfort, courage, and unforgettable memories that make school truly special.

This year I had the opportunity to sign up for different programs the school had offered. I enjoy being with my new classmates and the teachers have been very encouraging. I’ve made many new friends. The most exciting event is the Secondary 3 Camp as it was how I’ve made more friends. Another enjoyable school event this year was the CLAPS! program where I learned many new skills and abilities. There was also a work experience program where I signed up to learn about the jobs I’m interested in. Overall, it has been an enriching year.

The most unforgettable school event this year for me was the trip to China that the school organised for some of us Secondary 3 students. I had loads of fun, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for me in Secondary 3. 2025 is also a year in which I have learnt the value of Responsibility. I learned to take responsibility for my own actions and work. Whether it was completing assignments on time or helping with the class duties, I realised that being responsible earns me the trust and respect from others. It also made me more disciplined and proud of what I achieved through my own effort.

2025 has been awesome as I have a new class, new classmates, teachers and new subjects. As the End-of-Year exams were getting nearer, I felt stressed out as there were more subjects to revise but because my best friend and my teachers motivated me to not give up, all of us managed to brave through this together and support each other. I am happy that it has helped strengthen my class bond.

During the Secondary 3 Camp, we went rock climbing. It was really scary, especially since it was my first time. When I reached the top, I was terrified to come down. However, I faced my fears thanks to my classmates’ encouragement. The experience not only helped me bond with my friends, but also taught me to persevere and be more daring to try new things.

I really enjoyed both the Semester 1 and 2 CLAPS! programmes this year, especially the Secondary 3 Camp. It allowed me to bond with my new classmates and get to know them better. This was truly an unforgettable experience for me.

This year has been a tough journey filled with challenges. Through perseverance and resilience, I’ve learnt valuable lessons about adaptability and self-discovery. One unforgettable event was the Secondary 3 Camp at the start of the year, where I had fun bonding with my classmates through outdoor cooking and rafting. I’m grateful for this rare opportunity—not only did I get to connect with others, but I also had the privilege of trying something new.

Our class emerged champions in both the Volleyball and Dodgeball Inter-class Games during the school’s Youth Day Sports Carnival. Honestly, it was a very tough fight amongst the Secondary 4 classes. But all our classmates were cheering and supporting one another, and our efforts paid off. To me and my class, it wasn’t just about winning, rather it was about teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance and making great memories together as a class.

This year’s NSG was the highlight of my school year as it is my final year in this school. Even though we didn’t get into the quarter final, we still managed to put up a good fight and won a lot of matches. I was very happy with my performance against Pasir Ris Secondary School as I managed to score a brace and helped my school win the match.

I am very grateful to be part of this school. When I joined in Secondary 2, Semester 2, my classmates were very friendly and made me feel welcome right away. The teachers have also been kind and supportive, always willing to give consultations to help us improve. I especially want to thank Mrs. Yap, my Mathematics teacher, for holding extra classes during the June holidays, which helped me improve my results from a C to an A. I truly appreciate all my teachers for their effort and kindness, and I will never forget what they have done for me.

My most memorable experience at Bendemeer was definitely the combined school cluster overseas trip to Suzhou. Not only was it eyeopening to work with students from SJI and SAS(S), but I also managed to make wonderful friends and create unforgettable memories in a completely new environment.

My classroom feels like my second home. From laughing with friends to taking tests, the classroom has been with me through my highs and lows. The four walls hold a journey of my secondary school life and how I have managed to make it through – a place I truly treasure within my heart.

The classroom is my favourite place in the school because of the warm feeling i get from my classmates who feel like family now. The decorations put up by our class feel welcoming and heartfelt as they show the hard work and dedication of everyone in the class.

Over the years of being a Bendemeerian, I have grown to be a more courageous leader. Before joining BDMS, I rarely took the initiative to lead or improve. However, through learning and living out our school values, I have become more confident and daring to seize new opportunities.

The Secondary 3 Camp was the most memorable thing that happened to me. There was a lot of laughter, late-night talks, and fun things to do that made us step outside of our comfort zone. It allowed my friends and I to get closer and gave me memories that will last a lifetime.

One nice moment this year was when I talked to Ms Charlott during CCA break. It felt special to chat about simple things like the instrument she plays and where she is from. Mr Tan is an inspiring teacher who shows care through patient guidance and meaningful support. The canteen is a space I truly enjoy – it is lively and welcoming, allowing me to relax from lessons, bond with friends, and appreciate the friendliness of the stall vendors. Being the emcee at Speech Day was unforgettable; it challenged me but also taught me resilience.

My first year in Bendemeer was filled with many memorable experiences which shaped me to be a better person. The Secondary 1 Camp helped me overcome my shyness and face my fear of water during dragon boating. Supportive and meticulous teachers like Mdm Tang guided me patiently to grasp fundamental concepts. As I prepare for Secondary 3, having supportive friends, family, and teachers is very important to me. Miss Shamini, my History teacher since Secondary 1, has always been caring and patient, making lessons easier to understand. I truly appreciate the dedication and effort she puts into teaching us.

My Math teacher, Mdm Tang, truly inspires me. She taught me since Secondary 1 and has been giving me extra classes every Wednesday. Her support enabled me to never give up and believe in myself. Her caring words, “You can do it,’’ have guided me over the past two years.

Mdm Tang is a caring teacher because she always looks out for students who need help in class. Even when we don’t understand the work, she explains concepts to us clearly and ensures we are doing okay. I feel comfortable asking her questions.

Mdm Noor, my art teacher, has been a constant source of patience, warmth, and encouragement. Through her guidance, I began to uncover artistic abilities I never knew I had. She showed me that art is more than technique; it’s a way to express the world through my own unique lens. Her belief in me gave me the confidence to create boldly, and I’m deeply grateful for her unwavering support.

Mr Lawrence Ng is the most inspiring and caring teacher to me. As a new student, I needed help in many areas. Mr Ng was always patient in answering my questions and guiding me. I will continue to ask questions and face challenges in my new school environment with courage and confidence.

This year, I was deeply inspired by my English teacher, Mr Andrew, who always encouraged us to think boldly and express ourselves confidently. His guidance helped me grow both academically and personally. I am grateful for his patience and belief in us.

An inspiring or caring teacher I would like to thank this year is Mr Chin. I was going through a lot and decided to open up and tell him about it. He gave me the support I needed and ever since, he and a few other teachers who know about my issue have been checking in on me to see how I’ve been doing. He truly inspires me to do better and to persevere when faced with challenges.

A caring teacher from our school would be my Math teacher, Mr Gan. During our End-of-Year exams, before our Math paper, he took the initiative to give us extra Math practice papers. Moreover, he did not have a designated space on the teachers’ shelf. Therefore, poor Mr Gan had to look for students personally after school to give them the extra practice paper. This shows how committed he is to make sure that the students would do well for their Math papers.

Despite his jokes, he always pushes us to do our best and aim for Excellence. Due to this, he has made Chemistry one of my favourite subjects and has made learning fun and meaningful.
