2023 Time Capsule

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

The Centenary Project Redevelopment presented a great opportunity for our Members to contribute to a Club focused time capsule, giving the next generation of Belmont 16s Sailing Club Members insights, fond chuckles and “I remember that!” moments.

We received many pieces of advice, insights and item suggestions for inclusion in our time capsule along with a date our Members felt would be best to open this slice of 2023 Belmont 16s Club life and we are excited to share these details with you.

ITEMS INCLUDED IN THE TIME CAPSULE AS VOTED BY OUR MEMBERS:

• Belmont 16s 100 Year Centenary Celebration Booklet

• Belmont 16s Sailing Presentation Program for The 2022/2023 Season

• Belmont 16s 2023 Membership Card and the story behind it’s featured artwork

• A current 2023 newspaper

• Renovation before and after images

• Images from the Club over the past 10 decades

It was voted by Members to re-open the time capsule in 25 years. See you in 2048!

The site selected for the time capsule is under the model skiff crafted by long time Club Member Scott Sherry, in 2005 which is now located in the Boat Shed Bar.
