Welcome to the BCS Gala! This evening, we celebrate our 50th annual auction, a community event where families and friends have come together for half of a century to support Bellevue Christian School. Tonight’s Gala is a testament to the beauty of the BCS community, a community that lives out this year’s theme verse where Paul encourages us to be “encouraged in heart and united in love” (Col. 2:2). It also supports our vital work of shaping future generations through a Christcentered education where students learn to evaluate, understand, and transform their world from God’s unchanging values.
With reverence and deep hope, we honor the past and look to the future. We are profoundly grateful for God’s unwavering blessings and faithfulness to Bellevue Christian School, and we are dedicated to boldly carry out our Christian mission, grounded in discipleship, relationship, and scholarship.
Thank you for your love and support for Bellevue Christian School. Proceeds from tonight’s Raise the Paddle event will support the Teacher Endowment Fund which allows BCS to recruit and retain exemplary teachers who are focused on nurturing the next generation of Christian leaders and scholars. Supporting the Teacher Endowment Fund shows that we value our dedicated Christian educators by equipping and empowering them to carry out our mission.
We are grateful for your continued support of Bellevue Christian School and for your partnership in shaping young lives for Christ.
Sincerely,
ERIC RASMUSSEN Head of School

This year’s Raise the Paddle will again benefit our Teacher Endowment Fund - a long-term investment fund to recruit and retain excellent teachers. The endowment will strengthen and sustain our commitment to bolster teacher compensation and support.
Bellevue Christian School believes that the ultimate goal of Christian education is Discipleship. For transformational discipleship to occur, students must be surrounded by adults who model BCS’ mission and vision, caring deeply for them, inspiring them to discover the unique gifts that God has given them. This connection between teachers (and coaches, buss drivers, support staff, and many others) has always been at the foundation of BCS education.
Endowed funds are carefully invested in a portfolio, managed per Board policy by the school’s Trust and Investment Committee. The income earned from the investment is available for its intended use, while the corpus—the investment itself—is never spent and continues to grow based on additional contributions and income.
Creating an additional revenue stream via the Teacher Endowment to supplement teacher compensation will decrease our reliance on tuition as the sole channel of addressing this critical area.
The funds will be allocated and added to our teacher pay grid to increase contracted teachers’ salaries. Going forward, the amount we add to the pay grid will be calculated annually based on 5% of the fiveyear average of prior balances.
We hope you join us in raising your paddle high!
1. Upon entry, guests will be given a check-in bracelet with their table and bidder numbers. Your bid card will be placed in an envelope in the middle of your table. Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only. The top bid amount for an auction item will not be split among bidders who have agreed to pay a portion of the top bid amount. A purchaser who wishes to split the payment for an auction item must collect the individual payments from the other bidder(s). Present payments to the auction cashier at the time of purchase by the top bidder or accept those payments as a partial reimbursement to the top bidder. We gladly accept your payment by cash, personal check, or major credit card.
• Credit cards on file will be charged the week following the auction and an itemized receipt will be emailed to you.
• All other forms of payment are due to the cashier on the night of the event. Please make your check payable to Bellevue Christian School.
• To arrange alternate payment, such as DonorAdvised Fund or the like, please contact Linda Shelby, Donor Gift Coordinator, by Monday, March 24th: Linda.Shelby@bellevuechristian.org
• All raffle and live items must be removed from The Hyatt Bellevue by 10:30 pm the evening of the auction.
• Purchasers may claim any items or gift certificates valid for pick-up at the check-out table.
Bellevue Christian School is a designated 501(c)3 charitable organization by the IRS. The portion of your payments above the stated fair market value is deductible as a charitable contribution to the extent allowed by law. That portion may also be eligible for corporate matching through your employer.
Please direct any questions to your tax advisor.
