Agricultural and large recreational buildings desirable for solar panels

Virginia Tech is its own entity, should work with Blacksburg to maximize solar energy potential

Goal: Locate

Cannot place solar panels inside airplane zone 1, cannot have wide use solar panels in airplane zone 2

solar panel usage important as solar panel

urban downtown encompases historic and cutliral also within airplane zone 3

Recommendation of placing solar panels in Downtown despite containing historic buildings and being in airplane zone 3. A majority of these buildings have flat roofs, ideal for solar panels and therefore won’t interfere with facades. Additionally of interested for being the area of highest density and using the most energy. Airplane zone 3 will allow solar panels. Will require approval by historic and aviation experts.

Urban downtown is expanding along highways, monitor solar panel usage in future development

Other non residential buildings should also install panels for energy production while residential property should highly consider installation for personal use.
