The historic event has finally come. We are proud to say that this will be our 50th Production Sale. As time went on we realized there needed to be a realignment of sorts at Brost Land & Cattle Co. The idea of a female reduction was entertained, however with the drought, as well as the thought of selling a lifetime of work and achievement, a different plan was developed.

We are real happy with this year’s offering. The depth of thickness and soundness is exceptional. Those wanting pigment, there should be plenty to choose from. We hope as you browse and analyze the cattle, you will find fresh genetics to move your programs forward during these good times in the industry.

All 2018 calves received Fermicon 7/Somnugen, Pyramid FP 5 + Presponse SQ on April 28th, 2018 and a booster in the fall. All cattle will receive Ivomec prior to the sale. Bred heifers were pregnancy examined safe on October 2nd, 2018.

The 2018 calves received Pfizer One Shot and Vision 7 in the spring as well as a booster in the fall. All sale cattle were treated with Ivomec in the fall. The bred heifers were pregnancy examined on August 24th, 2018.

T E R M S TERMS

Terms are cash or cheque sale day unless prior arrangements have been made. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made. No invoices will be provided for buyers in attendance unless prior arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

PHONE, MAIL, WIRE BIDS

Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, wire or mail their bids to the auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

PEDIGREES

Each purebred animal will carry a registration paper issued by the Canadian Hereford Association. A registration certificate will be duly transferred to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

C O N D I T I O N S

TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP

Proper transfer instructions must be provided at the conclusion of the sale. Extensions will be granted on order bids only. Cost incurred due to incorrect transfer information will be borne by the purchaser. Ownership will not be transferred until full settlement has been made.

GUARANTEE

Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. Females have been pregnancy tested safe and are considered breeders without any further guarantee. Bull calves, if failing to become breeders, will be replaced or credit given for the purchase of a replacement.

LIABILITY

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The owners, their employees, sales staff, representatives and facility owner assume no liability, legal or otherwise, should any accidents occur.

DELIVERY

Delivery will be at cost and the buyer’s risk,

should the buyer choose delivery. Assistance will be provided for arranging delivery of cattle.

Export cattle will have all necessary health testing performed. Other costs (i.e. brokerage, etc.) will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

INSURANCE

Agents will be in attendance to insure your purchases. We strongly recommend that purchases are insured for full value.

ERRATA

All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supersede any written material in the catalogue.

BULL WINTERING

On bull purchases of $4000 or more, we will winter your bull free of charge until April 1, 2019. Onbull purchases less than $4000, cost of wintering will be $400 for bull calves and $500 for yearling bulls, unless 2 or more bulls are purchased. Wintering will be free of charge.

All bulls wintered MUST be insured. Buyers choosing to take their bulls home sale day will receive a $100 discount.
