Unbranded Official UK, are a massive part of my fashion journey to date. When I was 17, the owners of the now brand reached out to me to create some size inclusive gym wear for her husband. Her husband at the time, was around a size 4XL (bodybuilder) who struggled to find gym wear in his size... Also being a plus size woman, I also found it difficult to find gym wear that fit me correctly, that didn't move, was not see through or transparent when I was working out, especially when I was squatting.

After doing around 30/40 designs for her husband, they decided to set up a meeting with me, where they asked me to create enough designs to start a gym wear brand… this was the start of Unbranded official UK. We spent months, searching around to suppliers in the UK to find the best factory and manufacturer to do our designs. I said from the begin that we must have our clothing made in the UK, as it's very important that we can keep an eye on the production, workers and factory that we associate are self’s with, as it’s imperative that we ensure fair trade, UN quality standards were being met. We even had our material handcrafted in the UK for us and spun in a Nottingham factory, that used to create the material for Burberry, when they were made in the UK. we had the material reengineered to ensure that we had, four-way stretch, sweat resistant properties, UV protection and would be as non-transparent as possible just to name a few things.

After months of trials with different samples and garment construction, our basic collection launched, with our moto being “ALL sizes are Gym wear Sizes”. Once we had got all the garments back, we then set up a photo shoot to start shooting the first collection, one year down the line, we are now just launching our second collection of shapewear built in leggings and sports bras garments, for our clients who, love, live and shop the brand.
