Planned gifts are a deeply personal decision, and we are grateful for your consideration. They are a thoughtful way to continue your legacy and philanthropic interests while also providing certain tax benefits to you or your heirs. Please contact Jody Cross if you would like to know more about legacy gifts to Sanford School.

If you are considering a legacy gift, always consult a lawyer or financial advisor about the type of gift that’s right for you and how to set it up. If your present will already meets your needs, you can make a bequest to Sanford by having a codicil added by a professional. We are happy to provide a list of recommended estate attorneys.

Gifts

A bequest in a will or trust (such as a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate, or specific assets)

A charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust

Full, partial, or contingent/alternate beneficiary on a life insurance policy or a retirement account

Beneficiary or successor of a Donor Advised Fund

This information is encouraged but not required and helps the school maintain accurate planned gift records For example, the name of your legal counsel or executor, along with a copy of the pertinent section of your will, trust agreement, or other documents that list said provision(s) to Sanford School, are much appreciated but not required Please contact the Development Office if you want your legacy gift to fund a specific purpose other than the Sanford Endowment.
