Welcome from your Professional
Dear Ladies Member-Guest Participants,
Welcome to the 2022 Ladies Member-Guest Tournament. On behalf of the Professional Staff, we are pleased to have you join us for this special Club Event. It is my hope, along with our Golf Staff, that you thoroughly enjoy your tournament experience as well as the camaraderie of your fellow Members and their Guests.
As you will find in the Schedule of Events, we have an optional "Divas & Diamonds" Par 3 Contest
kicking off the festivities.
Although the main focus will be on golf, you will also be treated to culinary delights as well as warm hospitality and service from the Food and Beverage Team.
Again, on behalf of the entire Belfair Staff, we wish you the best of luck throughout the competition, but most importantly, an enjoyable and memorable Member-Guest experience.
Sincerely,
John Ogden
John Ogden, PGA Director of Golf

Tournament Information
Flights Two-Person teams will be pre-flighted based on the combined USGA Handicap Index of the partners.
Format The competition
will consist of four (4) nine hole formats played
within their respective flight. Teams will compete against each other in four different partners formats. The team with the lowest score total after the four formats will be deemed the flight winner.
Handicap All players are required to have an attested USGA Handicap Index. All competitors will receive their respective course handicap based off the different formats. If a player has more than one registered index, the lowest will be used. A maximum playing handicap of 36 is allowed and the maximum handicap spread between partners will be ten strokes. If higher than ten, the teams high handicap will be adjusted by 10%. Those adjusted will be marked with a (*) on the flight reports. Handicap Indexes were taken from March 25th.
Ties In the event of a tie within each flight, the tie will be broken by the USGA last nine hole score in a scorecard playoff.
Prizes Belfair Golf Shop credit will be awarded to first, second and third place in each flight. All prizes, including daily Special Events, will be presented at the Closing Luncheon.

East Course Local Rules OUT OF BOUNDS:
Defined by white stakes, white lines and the
inside edge of perimeter fence posts at ground level.
HOLES #9, AND 10 PENALTY AREA:
If there is doubt whether a ball
is in or is lost in the penalty area on holes #9 and 10, the player may play another ball provisionally under any of the applicable options in Rule 17.1.
If the original ball is found outside the penalty
area, the player must continue play with it.
If the original ball is
found in the penalty area, the player may either play the original ball as it lies or continue with the ball played provisionally under Rule 17.1. If the original ball is not found or identified within the three-minute search period, the player must continue with the ball played provisionally.
WASTE AREAS:
The East Course was designed with waste areas.
These sanded areas contain grass or ornamental shrubs and may also be defined by off-white colored sand. These areas are considered general area(s) and there is no penalty for grounding a club in these sanded areas. For consideration of fellow golfers, players may rake their footprints or smooth the surface with a club or rake.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS:
If a ball
lies in the “General Area”, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction (including sprinkler heads) is on the line of play, and is:
within two club-lengths of the putting
green, and within two club-lengths of the ball.
(Model Local Rule
F-5)
GROUND UNDER REPAIR:
Ground under repair is defined by any
area encircled by a white line. (Rule 16.1) Ground under repair may include areas of unusual damage, including construction damage or areas where traffic has combined with wet conditions to alter the ground surface materially, but only when so declared by an authorized member of the Rules Committee.
EMBEDDED BALL:
Relief is allowed when your ball is embedded in
the General Area as described under Rule 16.3.
Exceptions include
when your ball is embedded in sand (including pine straw covering sand) in a part of the general area that is not cut to fairway height or less, or when interference by anything other than your ball being embedded makes your stroke clearly unreasonable.
SUSPENSION OF PLAY DUE TO A DANGEROUS SITUATION:
When
play is suspended for a dangerous situation, you must stop play at once and must not make another stroke until the Committee resumes play.
A suspension of play will be signaled by one
prolonged siren.
The Committee will be responsible for
rescheduling, reducing, eliminating, or any other action deemed necessary, to complete the tournament.
Resumption of play will be
signaled by three short notes of siren. (Rule 5.7b)

(Rule 16.1) Ground under repair may include areas of unusual damage, including construction damage or areas where traffic has combined with wet conditions to alter the ground surface materially, but only when so declared by an authorized member of the Rules Committee.
SAND CART PATH (HOLE #17 WEST): The sand cart path in front of the green is deemed a cart path and thus an immovable obstruction. A player may select to take relief at their nearest point of relief within one club-length. The player may also play from the sand path if desired.
EMBEDDED BALL:
Relief is allowed when your ball is embedded in the
General Area as described under Rule 16.3. Exceptions include when your ball is embedded in sand (including pine straw covering sand) in a part of the general area that is not cut to fairway height or less, or when interference by anything other than your ball being embedded makes your stroke clearly unreasonable.
