This classic comedy opens on a friendly card game in the untidy apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Ungar, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together. The action unfolds with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.
“The Odd Couple” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com

Welcome to The Odd Couple! Bringing this production to life has been both a challenge and a joy as I took on my first opportunity to direct our high school students. Throughout this journey, these talented young actors have not only grown as performers but have also encouraged me to grow as a director. Their dedication, resilience, and willingness to step beyond their comfort zones as actors, designers, crew members, and parts of the production team have created magic in a bottle for this Fall Mainstage play.
The Odd Couple is a play that, on the surface, is about two mismatched friends sharing an apartment, but it’s much more at its core. This production reveals the strength of friendship, the importance of compassion, and the transformative power of kindness—all values deeply aligned with our Catholic Jesuit principles. Here, there is no grand spectacle or musical interludes; instead, the focus is on relationships, human connection, and how we lift each other up through life’s challenges.
In keeping with the Belen Jesuit formation of men for others, the characters in The Odd Couple demonstrate the courage to love and support one another despite their differences. They remind us of the importance of seeing beyond our own perspectives, extending grace, and choosing empathy. I am profoundly grateful for the way our cast and crew have embodied these values, creating a supportive and collaborative environment that has brought depth and authenticity to this production.
Thank you to our incredible cast, crew, and all those who have supported this journey. I invite you to join us in witnessing not just a comedy, but a story of friendship, resilience, and the beautiful ways in which we grow through caring for one another. Enjoy the show.

Starting his acting debut in Archimedean Middle Conservatory in 6th grade, Jose has adjusted well to Belen. When he's not in school, Jose loves playing rock music on his guitar and playing video games. He wants to give a special thanks to his mom for always supporting his dreams and ambitions!
(Cecily Pigeon): Chloe is very excited to participate in Belen's production of The Odd Couple. She is a student at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and an active member of its theater program. Chloe has been part of numerous productions, with her favorite being The House of Bernarda Alba at Stagedoor Manor, where she played Martirio. She would like to thank her parents for always supporting her passions and Mrs. Ordonez and Arnau Alvarez for all they have taught her.
Audrey Dominguez (Gwendolyn Pigeon): Audrey Dominguez is one of the newest additions to the Belen Theatre. She is very grateful and excited to play Gwendolyn Pidgeon on stage in front of everyone. She hopes people enjoy her attempt at a British accent.
Maximo Garcia-Tunon (Oscar Madison): Maximo is a dynamic 17-year-old senior at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, renowned for his work as both an actor and a media entrepreneur. A passionate performer since age two, Maximo has acted in over 30 productions spanning theater, television, and film over the past decade. His dedication to the craft has earned him recognition both locally and internationally. Whether on stage, in front of the lens, or behind the scenes, Maximo is an emerging force in the entertainment industry with a bright future ahead.
Maximo Granados (Speed): Maximo Granados is very happy to call The Odd Couple the tenth show he has performed in. Working with the Miami Children’s Theater during the summer and Belen Jesuit during the school year, Maximo has been acting since the 4th Grade and shows no signs of stopping.
Gonzalo Lacayo (Vinnie): Gonzalo Lacayo is a 9th grader at Belen Jesuit. Gonzalo started in theater as Ponyboy in The Outsiders in 7th grade, then Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing, Henry in The Fantasticks, in the middle school plays All The Ways The World Will End But Not You, and in The Extremely Important Greenvale High Student Body Election as Larry Langston.
