Belen. Silent echoes of the making of men.

Coming echoes of a step forward in the road of achievement? making ourselves more competent for service.

Belen. The small gate to a future of light.

Past this gate, listen to the echoes of Belen.

All inen count on you.

Each of us has a portion of the Light. In isolation from the others, we see only ourselves. If all the fragments of the one Light were brought together we would see one another. "Echoes" says farewell to the graduating class of '68 with the hope that they understand and live the message of Light and brotherhood of Vatican II.

"Echoes" is life surprised in shapshots. Still, motionless, but life, your life.

Each picture will suggest a whole act in the film of school life at Belen, just as if your friends, your teachers, would come out of the paper and talk and laugh with you again. An echo comes back after a certain time. "Echoes" will come back too, after months, after years, with the gesture of a teacher, the laughter of a friend, the voice of God calling you at Mass, through your friends "Echoes" will revive the presence of your educators and friends, who strived to make Christ's image meaningful to you.

This is the gift that the editors of "Echoes" present to you.

Scouting is not an appendix of Belen's educational work. It is that education in action. This effort could not have succeeded without a decided cooperation on the part of the parents. We are proud of our group of parents and of the constancy they have shown in attending our acts, contributing their interest and their support.

Camping is as essential to Scouting as practice is to any sport. It is here that men are forged, working together, learning to help one another, developing a sense of responsibility, enjoying together the wonderful world of nature.

On second thought, I am not hungry, thanks!

A hard working team under the direction of Eugenio Ferreiro and Jorge Ardura won for Belen the second place in the Southern Division of the Catholic Basketball League.

Lack of facilities for practice was a handicap for our baseball team. In spite of this, our boys played with enthusiasm and gave hopes of a more successful season next year.

It is part of the family tradition at Belen. Mass gathers us around the altar to start the day. An atmosphere of fun, of -companionship, was made even more enjoyable by an animated schedule of events prepared by Fr Maza. As trophies were presented to the winners, Fr. Rector expressed the wish that days like this would help to bring faculty and students closer in a spirit of true friendship.

Varsity Coach Loret de Mola said at the beginning of the year that he could do something with the team he had. He was not wrong. Our team posted the highest number of victories (14) for any Belen team, captured two trophies: District 16C Champions and Region 4C Runners-up, and was recognized as one of the most aggressive squads in their category. Our congratulations.
