1:00 - 1:45 pm: Texas A&M Beefmaster Herd Update Speaker: Dr. Jason J. Cleere, Texas A&M University Dr. Cleere is an Associate Professor at Texas A&M University and a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Beef Cattle Specialist. He works to coordinate statewide beef cattle extension education efforts, as well as conducting regional education programs. This seminar will update the membership on the status of the Beefmaster herd that was established at Texas A&M. 2:00 - 2:45 pm: Utilizing EPDs for Genetic Improvement Speaker: Andy Herring, Ph.D., Texas A&M University Dr. Andy Herring is professor and holder of the John K. Riggs ’41 beef cattle professorship in the Department of Animal Science. He also is a member of the TAMU intercollegiate faculty of genetics. Join us for this seminar to learn more about genetically improving your cattle herd through the use of EPDs and genomics. 3:00 - 4:00 pm: Overview of New RFI EPD & $FE Index Speaker: Kari White, Genetic Evaluation Scientist Neogen GeneSeek Kari White has been working as a genetic evaluation scientist for Neogen since February 2018. Her primary responsibilities include performing routine evaluations for Neogen genetic evaluation customers, as well as doing exploratory research in novel traits for selection in beef cattle. Kari will review, discuss and answer questions on the RFI EPD and $FE Index!

9:00 - 10:00 am: Importance of Carcass Data Speaker: Dr. Joe C. Paschal, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Dr. Joe C. Paschal is the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Livestock Specialist stationed at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Corpus Christi, serving 37 counties. This seminar will review how to correctly use carcass data to make breeding decisions. Ask questions! 10:00 - 11:00 am: Beefmasters and Feed Efficiency Speaker: Bryce Schumann, Vytelle Seedstock Sales Director Bryce Schumann started working for Vytelle in July 2019 as the director of seedstock sales in North America. This seminar will review the value of feed efficiency in beef cattle and how Beefmaster cattle play a role.
