We do not prorate We accept VISA, MasterCard, AmEx and Discover Checks should be made payable to the Town of Bedford. There is a $25 penalty fee for returned checks. Those requiring special assistance, please contact the Recreation Director. Transportation, when provided, will be by Bedford Charter unless otherwise noted.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

In order to continue offering quality programs at affordable costs, please consider donating to our scholarship fund Bedford Recreation's goal is never to turn away an interested participant due to economic hardship. With your help of $5, $10, $25 (or more!), we will be able to continue this practice

Notice must be given 5 business days’ prior to program start for refund If the required notice is given refunds will be issued less 10% of the cost of the program. Medical refunds given after a program has begun will be prorated and the 10% fee will be charged Other exceptions are noted in program descriptions.

Participants in Bedford Recreation sponsored activities permit the taking of photos and videos of themselves and their children for publication and use. Instructions to the contrary must be made in writing to the Recreation Director.

WINTER LIGHTS CONTEST

This contest is an opportunity for you to show off your home and winter light display! Only displays visible from the roadway will be considered as part of the display. The contest is free and open to all Bedford Residents.

The entries will be posted on our Facebook Page and the display that receives the most “likes” will be the winner! By entering, all homes grant permission for their address to be included on a list to be published for the community to visit the light displays.

Little Farmers (Ages 2.5-5)

Join our farmers to help care for the baby goats, cows, and miniature horse Clyde at Chip-in Farm! The Little Farmers will learn what it takes to be a farmer through stories, games, crafts, and real farm work. When our chores are done, we will have fun playing outside on the farm together and in the surrounding fields and forest The farm offers a full sensory experience for your Little Farmer This program is for children ages 2.5-5. The ponies at Chip in Farm are looking for some friends to play with this Fall! Come learn about horse safety while you groom and ride the ponies at Chip in Farm. Soccer Shots Classic Hybrid program utilizes creative and imaginative games to focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation. We use a progression for the scrimmages at the end of each session.

Toddler Tumblers (with adult participation): This class is the perfect combination of fun and learning There will be a different theme each week involving different equipment Participants will roll down the mat, walk across the beam, swing like monkeys, and jump like frogs. Parachutes and stamps complete this magical gymnastics class Children must be walking to participate (max 15)

Preschool Gymnastics (without adult participation): This class teaches beginning skills that will be useful for any sport Focus is placed on strength and flexibility while building balance and body awareness Gymnastics equipment is used in this class to reinforce gymnastics skills. (Max 15)

Location: First Church Lower Fellowship Hall (25 Great Road, Bedford). Please park in the Town Hall Lot behind the church. Fee: $295

Explore the Bedford Science Center at Lane School (Ages3-5 with Caregiver)

Welcome to the Bedford Science Center, where science comes to life! In this hands-on program, young explorers will embark on an exciting adventure through the Science Center From hens and curious guinea pigs to slithering snakes and playful geckos, the center is home to a variety of animals that spark curiosity and a love for science Students will help care for these creatures feeding them, learning about their habitats, and discovering how the Science Center keeps them healthy and happy all while gaining a deeper understanding of the natural world in a fun, interactive way

Music Together (Ages 0-5)

Music Together is an early childhood music program that allows children and their parents/caregivers to use their primary instrument, which is their voice, as the foundation for community music making Along our voices, we will add our second most important instrument (our bodies) to tap and clap to the beat of the songs we sing. Each class we dance and we use percussion instruments Full participation from the parents/caregivers is expected and needed to achieve the goals of the class: to help the kids develop tonal and rhythmic competence while experiencing the joy of making music along the people who love them and care for them.

Super Soccer Stars (Ages 2-5)

Instructor: Super Soccer Stars Coaches

At Soccer Stars, we use the soccer ball as the vehicle to help children improve their soccer skills, develop self-confidence and physical literacy, improve gross motor skills, and hone socialization skills. Our dynamic coaches help to develop these skills and teamwork in a fun, nurturing, and educational environment Classes are progressive and each lesson has been developed to teach age appropriate activities. We have programs for all ages and stages!

Ages 2-3 (1:30-2:00 PM)

Coaches take children on a trip through a world of exciting physical activity. Play-based activities & engaging original music are used to develop pre-soccer skills in a fun & nurturing environment

Ages 3-4 (2:05-2:35 PM)

Our youth soccer program offers a fun, positive, non-competitive environment where children will learn the fundamentals of soccer Our coaches use positive reinforcement to teach skills while building confidence These classes will start with a warm-up, continue with skill building, and end with a smallsided scrimmage match.

Get ready for big fun and little athletes! This exciting program is designed just for toddlers (ages 3-5) to explore the basics of sports while having a blast with silly, interactive games. Each week, kids will get moving with activities like soccer, basketball, and kickball, paired with playful favorites like parachute games, obstacle courses, and balloon volleyball. Builders and Racers Club Join our Builders & Racers Club, a fun and engaging recreational activity class where kids explore creativity and problem-solving through hands-on play with LEGO bricks and marble run sets! Davis Art is a drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture class focused on technique and experimentation We will work with traditional media such as charcoal and acrylic paint We will also get messy and creative with paper mache and we will learn simple sewing to investigate different mixed media The class starts with a read-a-loud and ends with the last few minutes supervised outside on the playground (weather permitting). Understanding how software can interact with robots is a key skill for the STEM jobs of tomorrow. Nashoba Snowtubing (Grades 3-5)

Instructor: Parent Volunteers

Bundle up and enjoy this fun winter activity! The Nashoba Tubing Park is large and offers a variety of well-maintained tubing trails as well as a lift to the top of the hill The bus leaves Lane School at dismissal and transports participants and volunteers to Nashoba The bus will return to Lane School at promptly 4:45 PM. Therapeutic Recreation is a process that utilizes recreation and leisure to provide adaptation and support to individuals of all abilities within recreation programs and services. Participating in Therapeutic Recreation programs can promote independence and encourage improvement in social, emotional, cognitive and physical wellbeing

Kid’s Test Kitchen: An Inclusive Experience (Grades 6-8)

Cooking is a life skill, and so is eating! On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! Students engage with food in a way that is both educational and fun Through hands-on experience, kids are taught the value of fresh, healthy ingredients and gain appreciation for the process of transforming those ingredients into a finished product Each class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own This program will have a focus on inclusion and Recreation will provide support for participants registered in the program.
