- each attentive, focused, and clearly in sync. I was brought into my room and asked what I’d like to watch on Netflix… and naturally chose the newest season of Bridgerton and promptly disappeared into Shonda Rhimes’ fabulous abyss while the machine hummed in the background.

The technician checked in a few times with brief instructions and reassurances, letting me know I could press the button in my hand if I needed anything…but mostly, they let me relax. I’d been warned in advance that some people feel claustrophobic and was even offered a prescription to help ease anxiety - which I declined. And I’m glad I did. The modern equipment, spacious room, and well-placed screen made the experience surprisingly easy and comfortable.

This year, as part of my own health and wellness journey, I decided to do something I’d been thinking about for a long time: I booked an out-of-pocket full-body MRI body and brain scan…

I didn’t feel I was getting the level of proactive screening I wanted, and I kept coming back to the same thought: If I want a clearer picture of my health, I need to take matters into my own hands!

So I started researching full-body screening options, looking for something comprehensive, streamlined, and easy to navigate. After comparing what was available locally and regionally, Prenuvo stood out as the most thorough and efficient option. While I would have loved to find something hyper-local at this level and price point, I couldn’t…so I headed into Manhattan.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was refreshingly calm. The space was clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed. Everything ran like a well-oiled machine. I was ushered into a private suite outfitted with clean scrubs (yes, even a no-wire sports bra), along with a plush chair, books, snacks, and a mini-fridge…to help pass the time. Before I could take my first bite of a healthy treat, there was a gentle knock at the door, and a friendly staff member brought me in for a quick weigh-in.

From there, I was guided into the MRI area. A central control room looked out over four or five individual MRI suites, buzzing quietly with experienced technicians

…Less than two weeks later, I received an email letting me know all my results were ready, along with the option to schedule a call with one of Prenuvo’s physicians to review everything.

The doctor began with the words everyone hopes to hear: ‘Overall, everything looks good’. There were no major findings of concern…but there were a few minor things - exactly the kind of things I’m grateful to know about early. We talked through specific markers to monitor over time, questions to raise with my General Practitioner and specialists, and both natural and medical ways to address them. One example: two years ago I tore my ACL skiing - and after having completed extensive physical therapy, and doing lots of other strength work, I thought I was back to normal. But the Prenuvo doctor was able to see on my scans that my muscle mass on that leg and hip were still lagging behind the other side - and warned me about the risk of injury, and shared some other things I can be doing to avoid damage.

Of course, not every call like that is easy or reassuring.

As a leukemia survivor, I know that firsthand; but what I found most valuable was the peace of mind - and the knowledge to advocate for myself more confidently in the years ahead.

For me, this wasn’t about fear or overtesting. It was about clarity. And that, in itself, felt like a powerful step forward. …I cannot recommend considering a Prenuvo scan for yourself or a loved one more highly this year!

I started to focus on lacrosse and got pretty good pretty fast. …The three of us were able to see the direct correlation of hard work and success and that propelled us forward. …Then when I was in 9th grade and Ashley was in 8th grade, the Assistant Coach of the University of North Carolina Women’s Lacrosse Team, Phil Barnes, came to watch us play. He told us that if we were serious about our lacrosse we should transfer to our hometown public school in Darien which we did…and by the end of that year I committed to UNC and Ashley committed to Standford!”

THE HUMPHREY SISTERS “It’s not all butterflies and roses,” Chloe decries. “ I hurt my back in high school and had a titanium screw put into my Pelvic bone, and I’ve had a couple of hip surgeries. Nicole recently had five screws removed from her foot which she had put in after being injured at USC. Ashley broke a few bones along the way, and has always had to deal with pain. …And the routine at UNC under Coach Jenny Levy is demanding!

Everyone on the team is expected to excel in academics as well. We have full-field practice five to six days a week during the Spring and Fall seasons - and let’s just say there’s a lot of sprints and interval training during practice. Then there’s lifting three mornings a week and long runs at least twice a week. And I’m really focused on diet… and trying to get the right amount of rest and recovery. …I don’t really go out that much. …But, you know, I think when it comes down to it we’re all really motivated by winning! I know that one of the reasons to participate in organized sports as a kid is to learn all the lessons of a hard-fought loss, but the truth is lacrosse has been almost all about victory for the three of us!

Tony’s roots are in Pennsylvania where he grew up on a small gentleman’s farm raising sheep and Hereford beef cattle, and he still refers to Pennsylvania as ‘home’ - even after making Westchester his residence for most of the past 40 years. …And his most important connection with his hometown is his wife, Cate, whom he met and married there 41 years ago.

After Tony graduated from Hobart College, and then graduate school at Syracuse University, Cate and Tony moved to Bedford, and later to Waccabuc - where they raised two daughters and a son. Along the way they had some brief corporate relocations to Pittsburgh and Chicago, as Tony advanced his career as a marketer and general manager at Unilever, Pepsi, Kraft, and ultimately as the Chief Operating Officer of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. He left corporate life some time ago and is now involved in various entrepreneurial ventures.

While in high school, Tony lusted after the Ford and Mopar muscle cars. Then, when he lived in Southern California at the start of his career and attended the 1979 Long Beach Grand Prix, his passion for vintage cars was solidified.

In 1999, when his company

was acquired by Kraft Foods, he received a small stock buyout and used it to acquire his first vintage car, a 1970 Regency red Series 2 E-Type Jaguar.

“I didn’t think too much

about it, I just bought it because I loved the look,” Tony recounts. Although it was a quick

purchase, he ended up keeping the Jag for almost 20 years. At the same time, he dove in deeper and impulsively acquired a bright yellow 1976 International Harvester Scout… and, much to his wife’s surprise, displaced her spot in the garage with that Scout. It was a connection back to his childhood Jeep. “I never gave much thought to what I really wanted, I just bought what I thought was cool and affordable.” …And, as a result, neither the Series 2 E-Type nor the Scout ever fully scratched the itch.

I must say though that my wife, Cate, has generally been accepting if not enthusiastic about my passion for cars and my constantly

Marie grew up in Scarsdale, went to Scarsdale High School, the University of Pennsylvania for undergraduate, and the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern to earn a Masters in Marketing and Finance. Her early career was in financial consulting with Price Waterhouse and then in brand management at Pepsi and IBM. When she and her husband, Ray Scanlan, settled in Bedford to raise their three daughters, Marie transferred her professional skills to volunteer efforts in the community, including the public schools, Northern Westchester Hospital, and several local nonprofits. We even run an Urban Youth Film Festival, inviting local high school students to showcase their extraordinary work.

On December 7, 2025 - after a year-long renovation and revival - the Teeth Of The Dog golf course at Casa de Campo in LaRomana, Dominican Republic, was re-opened for play… almost 55 years to the day after the renowned course opened.

Immediately hailed ‘The Jewel of the Caribbean’ when it opened, ‘Teeth’ - as the Teeth Of The Dog is commonly called - has maintained a position as one of the 100 Best Golf Courses in the World ever since. It was the first of the five courses at Casa de Campo designed by the legendary golf course architect and designer Pete Dye, and it then set the standard for what a beachfront Caribbean golf course could be. Twelve of the holes have ocean views… and seven of those holes - ‘The Heaven Seven’ - are perched dramatically on the rocky shore of the beach! Dye loved the course - and the place - so much, he built a home alongside the 7th Fairway…and his ashes were interred near the 8th Green when he passed in 2020.

During the course of the renovation, the entire golf course was stripped and replanted with a new grass designed for top performance in warm climates, called ‘Pure Dynasty Paspalla’. Every one of the 70 Tee Boxes was dug-up, leveled, and rebuilt - utilizing 679 cubic meters of sand.

Every Green was reconstructed, with subtle changes to size, shape, and undulation, and to make most of the Greens more approachable for the average golfer. Every one of the 127 Bunkers on the course was redone in order to flatten the sand surface, provide an easy point of access on foot, and generally improve playability.

All 14 Fairways were sand-capped before seeding - utilizing 4,487 cubic meters of sand. New cart paths on all 18 holes required 4,487 cubic meters of concrete, and 5 new stone retaining walls were constructed to keep the course from the ocean - and visa versa.

And the course was extended to 7,312 yards from the Back Tees. All-in-all, it took more than a half-million manhours of work for Pate’s team to bring the project to fruition.

“But I’d be remiss to laud all this attention on Teeth Of The Dog - however deserved - without also mentioning all the other superlative golf Casa de Campo has to offer,” Robert adds. “We have three unbelievably good ‘nines’ at Dye Fore, on the eastern end of the property! …The first, called Chavon, sits high atop the banks of the Chavon River - where Jewel of the Nile was filmed - with half of the holes practically hanging on the cliff! It’s like golfing in Jurassic Park. And the long Par Threes, undulating fairways, and tight greens make this ‘nine’ a challenging favorite. The second ‘nine’, called the Marina for its views of the yachtfilled harbor and the open ocean, is probably equally as challenging - but stands-out as a pure and pleasurable play. Elevated Tee Boxes and wide Fairways give the player the feeling that par is possible on every hole - even if the reality is really quite different. And the third and newest ‘nine’, called Lagos for the many lakes interspersed around this links-styled course, just may be the toughest ‘nine’ on the property. It’s long and lanky, and difficult and demanding. …And then there’s The Links, which meanders up and down the hills inland of the beach. It has several great dog-legs, a couple of Greens surrounded by Bunkers like an island surrounded by water, and a couple of Greens set just behind large water features, and quite a few incredibly dramatic elevated Greens complexes. While many golfers feel The Links may be the easiest course on the property for anyone looking for more pleasure than predicament, Pete Dye used to say that The Link’s Greens were some of the best he ever created, and players who lack a sharp short-game may experience some of their highest scores on this exceptional layout.
