THE ENROLMENT PROCESS WHEN CAN I ENROL ON TO MY COURSE? Our enrolment process begins on-site from Friday 13 August 2021. If you have accepted a conditional offer with us, you will receive an invitation by email to make an appointment for enrolment between Friday 13 and Thursday 19 August. We are expecting to be busy, so please book early to get a time that is most convenient for you.
WHERE DO I GO TO ENROL? The Bedford Sixth Form is on Bromham Road in Bedford only a short walk from the bus station. The postcode is MK40 2BS. Parking on-site is limited but there are several public car parks close by. When you arrive, please enter via the main reception. You will be directed through to the Grand Hall to meet with an enrolment tutor. When you have finished, you will leave via the student entrance at the opposite end of the building.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? We need to see evidence of your GCSE Results. This can be your certificates, or your result notification slips if you haven’t received your certificates yet.
WHAT HAPPENS AT MY ENROLMENT MEETING? You will meet with an enrolment tutor who will check through your GCSE grades and discuss with you the subjects that you have indicated you would like to study. Once they are happy that you have selected an appropriate programme and confirmed that the subject choices
can be taken as a combination on our timetable, they will complete an enrolment form with you. They will also book you in for an induction session to take place on either Thursday 2 or Friday 3 September 2021. As soon as this is done, you will be free to go. Within 48 hours of your enrolment meeting, you will receive a link to upload your proof of ID and photograph. Your proof of ID should be one of the following: • UK passport or ID card • A full birth certificate • Driver’s licence • Non-UK passport • National Insurance Card/Letter • Debit/Credit card The photograph you provide will be used for you Student ID badge for the year. HOW LONG DOES ENROLMENT TAKE?
DO I NEED TO PAY FOR MY COURSE?
Please allow up to an hour, although we will aim to complete most meetings in about 15 minutes.
If you are aged 16-18 on 31 August 2021 and a British Citizen your course is fully funded which means you don’t have to pay any tuition fees or exam registration fees. If you’re aged 19 or above and you are paying your own fees and are not eligible for a fee remission, our specialist Registry and Recoveries Team will call you to arrange payment.
PROBLEMS WITH ENROLLING? WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN’T UPLOAD MY PHOTO OR QUALIFICATIONS? If you are struggling with accessing the system or have problems with any of the steps involved, please contact our Customer Contact Centre via Live Chat on our website or email info@bedfordcollegegroup. ac.uk and we will help you complete your enrolment.
WHAT IF I DON’T GET THE RESULTS I EXPECTED? So long as you have met the standard entry requirements to be a student at The Bedford Sixth Form, we will give you advice during your enrolment meeting to help you enrol on to a programme that is suitable for you. Our standard entry requirements can be found here: www.bedfordsixthform.ac.uk/ courses/your-options-and-entryrequirements If you have missed out on our standard entry requirements, our GCSE Foundation programme may be suitable for you and we will happily discuss this with you at your enrolment meeting.
