T levels are a brand new qualification designed to give you a head start towards the future you want. They follow on from GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A-Levels. The two-year qualification brings classroom and work placement together on a course designed with employers and businesses.

reasons to choose T Levels
1. Backed by Businesses 4. Gain UCAS points All T Levels have been designed in collaboration with leading businesses and employers to allow you to meet the needs of the industry and get a head start after College.
2. Industry experience When studying a T Level, you will learn what a real career is like in your chosen field through an industry placement.
3. A qualification that counts
When you pass your T Level, you will gain a nationally recognised certificate that shows the overall grade you achieved. Details of what you learned on the course will be included so that you can move into skilled employment or a higher apprenticeship.

If you wish to move on to higher education, UCAS points will be awarded to T levels and will be recognised by universities and other education providers.
5. Learn and gain experience at the same time
T Levels offer more classroom time as well as experience within and industry; this is what makes it different to an apprenticeship. In the classroom, you’ll learn all the skills that employers look for and during your industry placement, you’ll put these skills into action.
Construction Design, Surveying & Planning Locations – BC
Duration and Entry Requirements 2 years 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language and maths
What will I study?
The core component of this course provides a broad understanding of the construction industry and involves some of the following topics: design, measurement, construction and the built environment, digital technology and building technology. The occupational specialism of this course involves analysing and designing the built environment, verifying the delivery of the built environment and measuring the built environment.
Work Placement
During this course you will undertake a work placement directly relevant to an element of the occupational specialism listed above.
What could I do next?
Achieving this Technical Qualification will give you an advantage when applying for a job in the construction industry; in your chosen specialism. You could also go on to further study such as a degree or a higher apprenticeship.

What will I study?
This T Level will help you gain an understanding of on-site industry and the sector. You will cover topics such as Building technology, digital technologies and sustainability in the construction industry. As part of this T Level you will choose one occupational specialism from Carpentry & Joinery, Bricklaying or Painting & Decorating.
Work Placement
During this course you will undertake a work placement directly relevant to an element of the occupational specialism listed above.

What could I do next?
This T Level develops the skills and knowledge needed to work in the construction industry; which will prepare you to enter the industry through employment or as an apprentice. This course can also give you the opportunity to progress on to higher education.

Duration and Entry Requirements 2 years 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language and maths
What will I study?
What could I do next?
After completing this T Level you can go on to work in the Building Services Engineering industry; either through employment or an apprenticeship. You will also have the opportunity to go onto higher education or further training.
During this T Level you will gain an understanding of the Building Services Engineering industry and the sector. You will cover topics such as sustainability in the construction industry, building services engineering systems and construction science principles. Whilst studying this course, you have the choice of two occupational specialisms: Electrotechnical engineering and Plumbing & Heating Engineering.

During this course you will undertake a work placement directly relevant to an element of the occupational specialism listed above.

Digital
Digital Business Services Locations – BC

Duration and Entry Requirements 2 years 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language and maths A strong desire to undertake work placement in a digital field
What will I study?
This T Level combines three key elements: Core knowledge delivery, work place training and an employer-led project. You will learn the essentials of all digital roles by understanding data and digital systems, how software and business interact, security, testing, planning and legal issues. You will undertake a work placement as part of this course and be set a work based project which will allow you to apply the knowledge and skills you have gained. 7
Work Placement
You will be expected to undertake 315 hours of work placement across the two year programme. This work placement provides you with the opportunity to learn and apply the technical skills gained during the qualification. Your placement will be within a company or organisation within the digital sector.
What could I do next?
After this T Level you could go on to study a degree course in a variety of digital sectors. You could also go into employment in the digital industry within the specialism you have chosen.

Digital Support Services

What will I study?

Education and Childcare
Pre T - Education & Childcare

Duration and Entry Requirements 2 years 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language and maths. A suitable DBS check. We will also consider those who have a previously completed an appropriate Level 2 qualification in Childcare.
What will I study?
During this course you will develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed to work with children in education and childcare settings. You will explore childhood development and theorists, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, First Aid, 9
with additional needs, whilst ensuring you will choose an occupational specialism within the qualification and all learning will consist of both classroom based and practical learning.
Work Placement
During this course, you will carry out a minimum of 750 hours in a industry placement. Placements will be offered in variety of early years and childcare settings, to help you gain experience in all areas of education and childcare.
What could I do next?
After completing this T Level you could go on to study at higher education; for example our Foundation Degree in Early years.
TCK
Duration and Entry Requirements 1 year 4 GCSEs including English and maths at Grade 4 A suitable DBS check (carried out at College)
What will I study?
This is the best pathway to progress onto a T Level in Education & Childcare. You will gain relevant skills, knowledge and behaviour in all areas of working with children from birth to primary years. You will also study paediatric first aid and understanding mental health in early years.
Work Placement
Your course will include 150-200 hours of work placement across different childcare settings and schools, to be able to help you experience and choose your preferred pathway in preparation for the T Level.
What could I do next?
This programme prepares you for direct progression to the T Level in Education & Childcare. On successful completion of the T Level students can progress onto university or seek employment in the industry.

Health Locations – BC

Duration and Entry Requirements 2 years 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language, maths and science A satisfactory reference and an enhanced level DBS check
What will I study?
During this course, you will gain the essential knowledge and skills needed to work in the health sector including how the industry works, core concepts and key regulations including managing information, health and safety and good clinical practice.

Pre T - Health Work Placement
Your work placement will take place two days a week over the two years; Placements will be offered in hospitals and community health settings.
What could I do next?
After completing this T Level you can continue studying on a degree or higher apprenticeship. You could also gain employment in a range of professions in the health and social care settings.

Duration and Entry Requirements 1 year 4 GCSEs including English or maths at Grade 4 A suitable DBS check (carried out at College)
What will I study?
This is the best pathway in order for you to progress on to a T Level in Healthcare. You will gain knowledge in Human Growth and Development, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity alongside awards in First Aid.
Work Placement
Your course will include 100 hours of work placement where you will cover a set criteria; in a Health and Social Care setting.
What could I do next?
This programme prepares you for direct progression to the T Level in Healthcare. On successful completion of the T Level students can progress to university or into employment.

Science Locations –

Duration and Entry Requirements 2 years 4 GCSEs grades 9-4 including English Language, maths and science
What could I do next?
After completing this T Level you can progress on to Undergraduate courses within The Bedford College Group or into employment in the scientific industry.
What will I study?
This T Level will teach you key scientific concepts, scientific working practices, collection of scientific data and experimental techniques. As part of your course you will be set a work-based project which will allow you to apply the knowledge you have gained.
Work Placement
The work placement will provide an opportunity to learn and apply technical skills gained during the qualification. This placement will be within a company or organisation in the science sector or delivering scientific skill based services. You will be expected to undertake 315 hours of work place learning across the two year program. 13
