Invocation A CLEAR CALL FOR INNER PEACE

In the hustle of building dreams and achieving goals, it's easy to overlook one essential element: peace. At Becoming Iconic, we believe that a journey toward success is incomplete without the stability and clarity that inner peace brings.

Entrepreneurship is exhilarating. It's filled with challenges, breakthroughs, and growth. But amid this journey, we must prioritize our well-being. Taking time to cultivate inner peace ensures we make decisions with clarity, build stronger relationships, and enjoy the process of our work, not just the outcomes. So, how do we invite peace into our lives? Start your mornings with a quiet moment. Before diving into emails and tasks, take five minutes to breathe, reflect, and set a positive intention for the day. Incorporate moments of calm into your day. Whether it's a short walk, a meditation break, or simply pausing to take a few deep breaths – these moments can recalibrate your mind. Nurture your relationships with understanding and open communication. A peaceful inner world often begins with harmonious interactions with those around us. As you chase success, remember to equally pursue inner peace. It's not just a state of mind, but an active choice we make daily.

Prompts INVITING PEACE INTO YOUR ICONIC JOURNEY Your mornings set the tone for the rest of the day. How can you incorporate small rituals or practices to start your day with a serene mindset? Reflect on one change you can implement tomorrow morning.

PEACEFUL DAILY INTERVALS Between meetings, brainstorming sessions, and the ever-evolving tasks of entrepreneurship, finding moments of peace can seem elusive. What can you embed into your daily routine to ensure that tranquility isn't just an afterthought but an integral part of your day? List down three practices you can start today.

HARMONIOUS BONDS Relationships, both personal and professional, thrive on understanding and mutual respect. How can you invite more peace into your interactions, ensuring that each conversation and connection resonates with empathy and compassion? Jot down a commitment you're making to cultivate more peaceful relationships.

PROACTIVE PEACE Waiting for peace to find its way to us can often lead to prolonged periods of restlessness. Instead, let's be proactive. What's one step you can take right now to stop waiting and start inviting more peace into your life? Capture that action and make it a priority this week.

P.S As you contemplate these prompts, remember that the journey to a peaceful life isn't. about grand gestures but often lies in the minute details.

uilding community is one of my favorite things to do. I've become good at it from years of hosting retreats, building teams and businesses. I love to introduce and connect great humans together. I have said for many years that I am a collector of exceptional women. The masterminds I host, the podcast I run and the magazine I publish have all been incredible opportunities to foster community building within my network. These assets have helped thousands upon thousands to meet and build relationships with one another.

B

uilding community takes two important aspects of leadership. The first, being the most important, is to soften the ego that says

you need to always be the leader or in the spotlight. Community is built upon many heart beats and each of those offering a unique and special opportunity to serve others because of their unique life experiences. Everyone brings something to the table. I have realized it was never about having to be all things to all people. Recognizing the power of each individual’s experience and what that offers is a gift when celebrated and encouraged. When a leader can realize that someone else shining, gives a richer experience to the room, the community deepens. Being able to step aside so someone else can lead, is the epitome of mature, grounded and confident leadership. The second aspect that builds an exceptional community is being able to hold space and lead difficult personalities. I remember the first time someone pointed out that this is as a quality I hold. I wasn’t aware of it because it felt natural but when it was shared, I realized it may not be easy for many. Let me give you a real life case study of what I mean. I was doing a training for a group of social marketers. There was a woman in the audience who continually interrupted to ask clarifying questions.

It was disruptive to the message and to the rest of the group. I saw how people were getting agitated by her and yet I also saw how this woman genuinely wanted to better understand. I had a moment where I made a decision in my heart and mind. I too could become annoyed with her and her inability to see how inappropriate this was or I could guide her to feel seen and heard while also holding a boundary. The next time she asked a question I responded with “I love how engaged and eager you are to understand this information. I applaud you. It’s this kind of curiosity that builds success. I would love to offer some of my time to you after I get through this training to answer all of your questions. It would be my pleasure to support you that way”. I watched her whole body soften and could see how grateful she was to be acknowledged. The audience also softened. They started to hold compassion for her desire to learn and I also built trust in my leadership from the way I navigated the situation. The woman no longer interrupted and the training was highly successful. I don’t shy away from difficult personalities or conversations. This is one of the attributes that attracts high achievers to me. They have big teams and big businesses with all sorts of personalities and clashing energies. Navigating someone’s character is not an easy thing to do. Holding space is not an easy thing to do. Understanding others is not

always easy to do. There is often a challenging person in the room. It’s the one who can monopolize the time during a group call or someone who always wants to interject their opinion. But if community is what we desire, we must be willing to love every person, accept every person and then lead every person. This is a call to action for the person at the helm of the community. This is where your leadership gets to shine. This is where your boundaries can be practiced and most importantly, this is where we get to showcase compassion, empathy and grace to humans. All humans. Not just the easy ones to like and get along with. Growing a community is a massive blessing to a business. It’s not for everyone but for those who are called, it can make an incredible impact with a worldwide ripple effect. Without a grounded leader, it can lose its purity and potency. As the greatest leader of all time said “to whom much is given, much is expected”. Let’s not wish for it to be easier but focus on our getting better.

Growing a community is a massive blessing to a business.

e i k o o C SWAP

When it comes to holiday traditions, there's one that stands out for us: our annual cookie swap. Seriously, what could be better than a room filled with a dizzying array of cookies? From the timeless chocolate chip that reminds us of sneaking dough from the bowl as kids, to intricate new age flavors inspired by the latest café in town, each cookie tells a tale. Each crunchy bite or soft, melt-in-your-mouth moment isn’t just about satisfying our sweet tooth – it’s about the stories, the shared recipes, and that one time someone's cookies (we won't name names!) spread a bit too much in the oven. So, as you get cozy and flip through this issue, we're sharing our top cookie creations. We hope they inspire your own baking adventures and add a sprinkle of iconic fun to your holiday season.

Thumbprint Hershey Kiss Cookies ¼ cup softened unsalted butter ¼ cup peanut butter ¼ cup brown sugar ¼ cup white granulated sugar + ¼ cup for coating 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 16 Hershey Kiss chocolates

Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a large baking sheet and set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine softened butter and peanut butter. Mix together flour, salt, and baking soda and add into wet mixture and mix until a dough forms.

Christmas Crack Recipe 1 cup (227g) unsalted or salted butter 1 cup (220g) packed light or dark brown sugar 40 salted saltine crackers (about 1 sleeve) 1 pkg (270g-300g) milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips additional toppings like nuts, candy or sprinkles (optional)

Directions Preheat oven to 350F. Line a large baking sheet with heavy duty aluminum foil (if using regular foil, spray with non-stick cooking spray for easy removal). Spread the crackers out on the foil in a single layer and fold up the edges of the foil to box in the crackers. Set aside. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat on the stovetop. Bring to a rolling boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to boil for 5 minutes (set a timer), stirring frequently. Quickly pour over the crackers and spread to cover completely. Bake for 5 minutes in the oven. Turn off heat. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let stand for 1-2 minutes or until the chocolate starts to look shiny and is soft enough spread evenly over the toffee. If the chocolate is still not warm enough to spread after 4 minutes, place it back in the oven for a minute to help soften it. Top with any additional toppings if desired. Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to harden. Peel away the foil and break into pieces.

Caramel Apple Cookies 3/4 c. salted butter (1 1/2 sticks) 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 1 tsp. apple pie spice 3/4 c. rolled oats

1 Granny Smith apple, grated (about 1/2 cup) 1/2 c. chopped apple chips FOR THE CARAMEL ICING: 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2 tbsp. apple cider or juice 3 tbsp. caramel sauce 1/2 c. apple chips, chopped

Directions For the cookies: Preheat the oven to 350˚. Brown the butter by melting it over medium heat in a medium saucepan, then let it cook and bubble for an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until the foam and butter underneath is golden brown. Transfer it to a large, heatproof mixing bowl and swirl a few times to help stop the browning. Let it cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and apple pie spice in a medium bowl; set aside. Add the brown and granulated sugars to the mixing bowl with the browned butter and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 1 minute until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix on low just until combined. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until combined. Mix in the oats and grated apple. Fold in the apple chips with a rubber spatula. Scoop the dough into balls, about 1 1/2 tablespoons in size, onto two parchment lined baking sheets and and press gently with the bottom of a glass. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet tray, before transferring to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

Cowboy Cookies 1 c. salted butter, divided 1 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 c. granulated sugar 2 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 1/2 c. old-fashioned rolled oats

1 c. chopped pecans 1 c. coconut flakes 2 c. chocolate chips Flaky salt, for sprinkling

Directions In a medium saucepan, brown 1/2 cup of butter by melting it over medium heat, then letting it cook and bubble for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the foam and butter underneath is golden brown. Immediately transfer it to a large, heatproof mixing bowl and swirl a few times to help stop the browning. Let it cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, allow the remaining 1/2 cup of butter to soften. Preheat the oven to 350˚F. To the browned butter, add the softened 1/2 cup of butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Using a stand or hand mixer, beat on medium-high speed until the mixture has lightened in color and texture, 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until smooth, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed. In another medium bowl, whisk to combine the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture in 3 parts, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated after each addition. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed. Add the oats, pecans, coconut flakes, and chocolate chips, and mix on low speed or stir with a spatula to combine. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Using a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop, drop cookie dough onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until golden brown and dry in appearance on top. Let the cookies cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely. Sprinkle with flaky salt.

Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroons ⅔ cup sweetened condensed milk OR granulated sugar * 3 egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon almond extract 6 cups sweetened shredded coconut (14 ounces) 30-35 whole almonds , if desired 1 to 1 ½ cups HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Whisk the sweetened condensed milk OR the granulated sugar with the egg whites, vanilla and almond extract until frothy. Stir in the coconut. Let sit for 10 minutes. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop the coconut mixture into a 2-inch scoop, poke a hole in the middle and insert two almonds. Cover the almonds and place the coconut mix on the parchment paper. Repeat. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden on top. If the cookies spread at the base simply cut away the baked egg white with a sharp knife while the cookies are still hot. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely. Melt the HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips in a small bowl for 30 seconds in the microwave. Stir. Melt for another 15-20 seconds and stir again until the chocolate melts into itself. Dip the bottoms of the macaroons into the melted chocolate chips, scrape the bottom on the side of the dish and cool on the cooling rack.

Pinwheel Cookies 3/4 c. salted butter, softened 1 c. granulated sugar 1 egg + 1 yolk, room temperature 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 3 tbsp. cocoa powder Finely chopped walnuts or sprinkles, optional

Directions Combine the butter and sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes, or until light and fluffy. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, then mix on low until fully, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Add to the butter mixture and mix on low speed until fully combined and there are no flour pockets. Divide the dough in half, reserving half in a separate bowl. Add the cocoa powder to the other half, mixing until no streaks remain in the dough. Place each half of the dough on a separate piece of parchment paper and press into a 1/2inch thick square. Place another sheet of parchment paper over the dough and roll into a 9by-9-inch square. Chill both squares for about 30 minutes or until the dough is firm but still malleable. Once the dough is chilled, remove the top piece of parchment paper from both squares and flip the chocolate dough on top of the vanilla, lining up the edges as much as possible. Remove the top parchment and trim the edges to create even sides. Carefully roll the dough into a log (like a jelly roll), using the parchment paper as a guide and peeling back the paper as it is rolled. Wrap the roll in plastic wrap, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper to press the dough together firmly and remove any air trapped inside. Refrigerate the dough for about two hours. If the log needs some reshaping, remove the dough from the refrigerator after 30 minutes of chilling and gently roll it on the counter to work it into a round cylinder. Return the dough to the fridge to finish chilling. Preheat the oven to 375º and line two sheet trays with parchment paper. Once the dough is firm, unwrap the log and roll it in your choice of walnuts or sprinkles. Trim the round edges, then carefully cut the log into 24 cookies, about 1/4 inch thick, using a sharp knife. Bake 1 1/2 inch apart on the prepared trays for about 8 to 10 minutes, until the tops look dry. Let cool for 2 minutes on the sheet tray, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

THE POWER OF

VOICE

WRITTEN BY

KATHARINA SURTEES

I am an Australian Voice Over Artist, living in the most isolated city in the world, Perth Western Australia. I use my voice creatively that connects to the rest of the world. But it wasn’t always like this. Growing up in a house where my opinion was suppressed by my dominating father, I could never speak truthfully about how I felt, talk about my ‘crazy’ future dreams and aspirations, or protect my brother, sister and mother as we lived in a household of emotional and verbal abuse. I learned that not being able to use your voice affects the physicality of your body; you feel emotionally shut down and it’s truly debilitating. Lightbulb moment - I was turning fifteen, thinking how the hell can I get out of school, make my own money and move out of home? I would be free to do what I want and use my voice whenever I want, and more loudly!

Much to my drama teacher’s disappointment, I gave the school notice that I was leaving, as I had a ticket to freedom - a hairdressing apprenticeship. My drama teacher insisted I hang in there and graduate, with a degree in Performing Arts. That apprenticeship lasted three months and my entrepreneurial fire was lit, leading me to create my own business. As a kid, besides roller skating classes, I attended modelling classes and was obsessed with seeing people’s gifts and talents, and how I could help them become more confident, finding a voice through self-expression through their persona. Why not start my own Modelling and Grooming Academy? At this time, I was fortunately working for many promotional companies, which gave me the opportunity to hold a microphone and speak in front of an audience. Was I scared? Terrified! But there was something beautiful, freeing and releasing about using my voice creatively, even if it was for somebody else’s message. This funded me to get my business off of the ground. What started with ten students grew to two-hundred! At the age of eighteen, I applied for my agency licence and had the opportunity to use my voice to negotiate deals, direct runway shows, and teach my students and aspiring models how to be the best, confident versions of themselves.

I learned how to creatively use my words to get what I want and attain my goals. It was fun, and still to this day I enjoy the challenge. Nine years of running my business was truly life changing - I constantly receive emails still to this day from my former models (who are now moms and business owners) telling me I have truly changed their lives. I say nine years, as in the last of those nine years, my brother Peter was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer and passed away. Being only twenty-two at the time, working seven days a week and fourteen hours a day, I was exhausted and could not emotionally cope. Fortunately, I had seven instructors working under my direction, as well as my booker, Lisa, who then took over my business.

“I learned how to creatively use my words to get what I want and attain my goals.”

I escaped my city and retreated for some reflection on life in a countryside Western Australian town, Bunbury. I was there for a while - not working, feeling depressed, when one day my mom called and said “You need to pull yourself out of it! Come home, I have something you might be interested in.” It was an audition to apply for a broadcasting course at the Academy of Radio, in Perth. I packed my bags and came home, acing the audition and receiving a placement. This was life changing - I got to speak on a microphone and say whatever I want! (within reason).. Halfway through my course, I was offered a position in a regional radio station which then led me to work for one of Australia’s biggest radio networks. From hosting “Love Songs After Dark”, to being the first female announcer on their new FM station, Hot FM, hosting the ‘Hot 30 Countdown’. This gave me the opportunity to experience production sessions, voicing commercials (and MANY of them daily!). One weekend I decided to head down to Perth, the capital of Western Australia, where I would catch up with friends and hit the clubs. What do I see at the bar? This man.. I felt either I’ve known him in my past life, or I’m gonna know him really well tonight. We swapped numbers, next thing you know we are married with two beautiful sons, Mason and Aramis. During our dating, I decided I didn’t want to be away from Warren, so I moved back to Perth and had an opportunity to work at then, the number one rated Perth radio station, but my past insecurities kept creeping in, and my anxiety grew. Warren drove me to every meeting and session, as my anxiety made me feel sick and I was in need of his incredible support. Obviously I was not aligned with my true source.

I declined the offer and ceased the pre show prep at the radio station. I was so relieved and that feeling was a confirmation in itself to listen to my gut. Warren was, and still is my rock and support he encouraged me to use my voice and believed in my talents. I knew voice-over was my calling and I pursued it after my three year radio career ended. My voice was the perfect fit for many commercials in Perth over the years, but in 2017 is where it really took off. Then, in 2019, pre-pandemic, my husband intuitively set up a professional standard recording studio at home. This was a miracle of pure alignment and serendipity. The only Voice Actors that would get booked were the ones with home studios. Since then, the advent of technology has allowed for the world to connect together, our voices beheard through podcasts YouTube channels, phone notes, social media - we have no excuse to not be able to share our own stories and be an inspiration to others to use their voice. We have access to so many incredible coaches. I have had the privilege of working with coaches for voice and on camera, and it has solidified my confidence and gained extra skills that add that sparkle to my business. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help, become the best you can be! Today, I have the confidence to voice my opinions, be assertive with my decisions, and not be afraid to speak my truth. I want to be a role model for my two sons to be strong and confident and speak up, and speak the truth from their hearts. Your voice and breath are the essence of your spirit - Be heard, use your voice, and don’t be afraid. The world wants to hear your story. Never forget the power of voice.

OUR READERS' FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

The allure of the holidays lies in the delicate tapestry of traditions that we each weave, influenced by our unique backgrounds, families, and experiences. As the air turns crisp and cities light up in festive glory, Becoming Iconic Magazine is here to embrace the spirit of unity, celebration, and reflection. In our quest to delve deeper into this enchanting season, we reached out to our devoted readers and followers, asking them to share their most treasured holiday customs. What follows is a culmination of those shared moments and memories, a testament to the magic and warmth that our community brings into the world during this special time of year.

1. MIDNIGHT MEMORY CAPSULES It's not just about opening presents. Imagine welcoming Christmas day by unlocking memories. Many of our readers shared the beautiful tradition of creating 'Midnight Memory Capsules.' As Christmas Eve transforms into Christmas day, families gather around their tree. Instead of diving into gifts, they first open a time capsule from the previous year, filled with notes about favorite moments, achievements, and dreams. There's laughter, tears, and a deep connection to the year gone by. Before the festivities of Christmas Day truly begin, they then fill up a new capsule to be opened the next year, preserving memories and wishes.

2. CHRISTMAS EVE BOXES Several readers mentioned a delightful tradition that's quickly gaining popularity worldwide: the Christmas Eve Box. Originating from the heart of the Midwest, families prepare a special box for each member. As the final rays of sun fade on Christmas Eve, everyone eagerly opens their personalized box. Inside, they find a plush new blanket, a pair of festive Christmas pajamas, and a curated selection of their favorite snacks.

With excitement in the air and the scent of pine and cinnamon wafting around, families then settle down by the twinkling lights of their Christmas tree. Dressed in their new pajamas, wrapped in their cozy blankets, and snacks in hand, they indulge in watching a cherished holiday movie together. It's a simple yet profoundly heartwarming tradition, emphasizing the comfort and warmth of being with loved ones, setting the perfect mood for the big day ahead.

3. ORNAMENT CHRONICLES A tradition that beautifully melds the past with the present. Each year, families create or buy an ornament that represents a significant event from that year. Over time, decorating the Christmas tree becomes a trip down memory lane, as each ornament tells a unique story of joy, challenges, or milestones.

4. THE REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR An inspiring tradition that embeds the spirit of giving. Beginning December 1st, participants place a non-perishable food item into a box. By Christmas Eve, they have a box filled with 24 items ready to be donated to a local food bank. It's a beautiful reminder that the season is as much about giving to others as it is about celebrating with our loved ones.

5. NATURE'S DECORATION DAY Hailing from Scandinavia, some families head into the forests and natural spaces on a specific day in December. The goal? To create handmade decorations from nature, be it pinecone garlands, dried fruit ornaments, or wreaths made from evergreens. It’s a sustainable and naturecentric way to adorn one’s home during the festivities.

As we draw the curtain on another year, these traditions remind us of the profound beauty embedded in the simple moments. They underscore the importance of unity, the joy of togetherness, and the infinite potential that lies in cherishing and creating memories. At Becoming Iconic, we believe every individual has the potential to shape traditions that resonate deeply and stand the test of time. The holidays are not just about revisiting age-old customs but also about creating new ones, infused with personal meaning, love, and creativity. As you embrace the festive season, may you be inspired by these traditions, adding your unique touch, weaving iconic moments, and sharing your light with the world. Celebrate, reflect, and above all, stay iconic.

WHAT YOU BRING

to the table THE ENTREPRENEURIAL ETIQUETTE WRITTEN BY JEN SZPIGIEL CEO + FOUNDER | BECOMING ICONIC

A beautifully set table can elevate any dining experience from ordinary to extraordinary. Whether you're hosting a formal dinner party or simply want to bring an element of sophistication to your everyday meals, knowing how to set a table properly is an essential skill. I personally have my dining table set daily because I believe every day is a special occasion but I also love being ready to welcome unexpected guests. My rule is to always be “Oprah ready”.

Here is a step-by-step guide to a flawless table setting:

1. Linens Choose a color theme and ensure that all the linens coordinate with one another. I love to theme my table based on the occasion or celebration. I keep my colors as neutral as possible leaving the details to the decor. *Tablecloth: Start with a clean and ironed tablecloth. Choose a neutral color for formal settings, ensuring it drapes evenly on all sides. *Placemats: Although optional for formal settings, if you choose to use them, ensure they are evenly spaced and about an inch from the edge of the table. *Table runner: A table runner lies in the middle of the table alone or on top of your tablecloth. It is my personal preference over placemats for a formal occasion.

2. Flatware

4. Glassware

Clean, matching flatware is a must. Spotted or dirty flatware will ruin the entire experience. Take a cloth and dampen with vinegar water to have it sparkle. I am using gold flatware currently and love the elegance it adds. *Forks: Place the dinner fork closest to the left side of the plate. If you're serving a salad, the salad fork goes to the left of the dinner fork. *Knives: Place the dinner knife directly to the right of the plate with the blade facing in. If you're serving soup, a soup spoon goes to the right of the knife. *Dessert Spoon and Fork: These can be placed horizontally above the plate, with the fork facing right and the spoon facing left.

I have a variety of glassware at home. It’s such a fun accessory and different shapes create different moods for various times of the year. Clean your glasses well so there are no watermarks and they are crystal clean. *Water Glass: Position this directly above the dinner knife. *White Wine Glass: To its right, slightly forward. *Red Wine Glass: To the right of the white wine glass. *Champagne Flute: Can be placed behind the wine glasses if being served.

3. Plates and Bowls: Just like the flatware, make sure the dinnerware is clean and doesn’t have any chips. I love white dinnerware to show off the plated food you are serving. *Dinner Plate: This is your base. It should be centered on the placemat. *Salad Plate: If you’re serving a salad, place the salad plate on top of the dinner plate. *Soup Bowl: If soup is on the menu, it can be placed on the dinner plate or served separately.

5. Napkins: I may or may not have several sets of napkins. I am someone who loves to decorate and napkins are the finishing touch to the place setting. It’s important to iron these as well and have them look presentable for someone to personally use. Folded napkins can be placed on the dinner plate or to the left of the forks. Napkin rings are optional and add a touch of elegance.

6. Additional Touches *Bread Plate and Butter Knife: These should be placed above the forks, to the upper left of the dinner plate. *Coffee Cup and Saucer: These can be set to the upper right of the spoons if coffee or tea will be served with dessert. I prefer to serve with dessert and leave them off of the table to avoid clutter.

7. Finishing Details *Place Cards: If you're directing guests to specific seats, place cards should be positioned above the dessert spoon and fork. *Centerpiece: Ensure it’s neither too tall (blocking guests’ view) nor too fragrant (overpowering the food’s aroma). Candles add luxury and mood to any table. I use stick candles to avoid potential accidents with tea lights. If you use tea lights, ensure they are placed in a votive candle holder. It’s also a beautiful touch to bring in outdoor elements to decorate your table. Branches and florals add to the occasion and incorporate the time of year. While this guide gives you a blueprint for formal table settings, remember that the key to a memorable dining experience lies not just in the placement of utensils, but in the warmth and hospitality with which you welcome your guests. So, set your table with care, but always prioritize the company and conversation. Cheers to your elegant dining endeavors!

One of my long time mentors said something that really held time in a new way for me. He said to count how many Christmases (or holidays) you have left with your parents while they are still in good health. I was stunned. I did the math. Of course I hope for them to live well past my perceived timelines, but I also know that in twelve years from now, their ability to do and enjoy things the way they can now will be diminished. It just is what it is. He went on to suggest that within those years you calculated, you have that many opportunities to make big, legacy memories for yourself and the next generation. I thought about how these moments will be markers within my life and the life of my children. There will be traditions, stories, recipes, music, sounds and family quirks that they will remember and potentially pass on in their future lives. What an activating realization for me! I instantly dropped out of the premature anxiety of thinking about who comes and when, and reflected on how can I create something that is special and memorable year after year. The intention around savoring family time and creating a beautiful experience for everyone took precedence and I was released from any unrealistic expectations. It upgraded my relationship with the holidays, gave me a fresh perspective of our family dynamics and reminded me of the privilege of having my parents in the now. I pass this wisdom on to you. How many more years can you estimate with your parents and/or extended family in good health to celebrate holidays with you? Once you see that number, your focus turns to how you can make every one of those years count to deepen the experience for yourself and your family? What can you let go of that may be stealing your joy during the holidays so that you can relish every last year you have? How can you make this holiday the most beautiful, treasured and sacred of celebrations to date knowing that it truly counts? We harbor so much that can stain the experience of our holidays. Let’s release old memories that don’t support making this one the best one we have ever had. With an intention to soak in every one we’ve got left, it’s a given we will create the opportunity to enjoy the greatest one we’ve ever had.

FIVE WAYS TO TIE UP YOUR year WITH A BOW

WRITTEN BY JEN SZPIGIEL

CEO + FOUNDER | BECOMING ICONIC

Look back

WITH DEEP GRATITUDE For all you have created, accomplished and learned. It’s easy to make a list of all the things that didn’t happen or that you didn’t do. Instead, sink into deep gratitude for another year that you got to experience. Gratitude is the medicine for any feelings of lack or disappointment. When we turn our focus on to all we have to be grateful for, it amplifies the blessings of our lives.

Create

A YEAR BOOK Go back through your photos and online photos and create a year book to remember all the wins, memories and pivotal moments you want to carry forward and never forget. This is one of my favorite practices at the end of the year. I love printing them off and making yearly photo albums to look back and see my growth and all I have experienced.

Clean up

AND TIDY UP This is the perfect time to declutter your work space, living space, closets and drawers. Make room for what you are calling in for the year ahead and purge anything that doesn’t fit what you would like to carry forward. Making space gives opportunity for more. This will give you so much energy!

Set goals

AND MAKE A PLAN Go back through your photos and online photos and create a year book to remember all the wins, memories and pivotal moments you want to carry forward and never forget. This is one of my favorite practices at the end of the year. I love printing them off and making yearly photo albums to look back and see my growth and all I have experienced.

Make investments FOR NEXT YEAR This is the time for declaration and commitment to what you have created over the last year and where you are going. Investing at year end is a great way to also build expenses against your current fiscal year for taxes. Hire your dream mentor, get into a mastermind, sign up for a course, hire team to support your goals and buy any office supplies or assets that you need for the year ahead and make moves for your best year ever!

As the year starts its elegant descent towards its finale, our team finds warmth in shared memories and experiences. This holiday season, we wanted to give you a taste (quite literally!) of how we, the Becoming Iconic Boutique Agency Contractors, come together to celebrate. Our tradition? An annual potluck exchange, where we each bring a dish that tells a story, a recipe passed down through generations or a new culinary experiment inspired by our diverse journeys. These recipes are more than just food—they're a testament to our collective passion, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. They embody the Becoming Iconic ethos: a fusion of style, substance, and soul. So, dear reader, we invite you to indulge in our personal favorites. May they inspire your own festive gatherings, and perhaps, become a cherished part of your own holiday tradition.

Creamy Broccoli Casserole 1 (14 or 16 oz.) package broccoli florets 1 c. shredded mild or medium cheddar cheese, divided 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup VIEW THE FULL RECIPE HERE 1/4 c. mayonnaise 1/4 c. milk 1 egg, lightly beaten 1/8 tsp. salt Topping: 1 1/2 c. Ritz and/or Keebler Club cracker crumbs (about 1 "sleeve" of crackers; I use a combination of 3/4 c. Ritz + 3/4 c. Keebler Club) 1/4 c. butter, melted

Directions

Thaw broccoli and warm broccoli in the microwave for about 5 minutes; drain very well. Cut any large florets into smaller, bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine broccoli, 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar, cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise, milk, egg, and salt. Spoon into a greased 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking dish. Top with remaining 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Stir together cracker crumbs and melted butter until crumbs are moistened. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the broccoli mixture. Bake at 350℉ for 45 - 50 minutes until bubbly and crumb topping is light golden brown.

Antojitos 3-4 large tortillas 8 ounces brick-style cream cheese, softened 2 tablespoons sour cream 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1/2-1 teaspoon hot sauce 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped fine 1-2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped 1 green onion, finely minced Sour cream, for serving

VIEW THE FULL RECIPE HERE

Directions Preheat the oven to 350F. If using a cast iron skillet, add it to the oven while it preheats so your skillet is hot and ready. Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, hot sauce, red pepper, jalapeno peppers, and green onion to a medium sized glass bowl. Use an electric hand mixer to blend all of the ingredients together. Spread the mixture on each tortilla, leaving about 1" around the perimeter of each tortilla to prevent the filling from seeping out. Repeat with each tortilla. The filling should spread easily between 3 tortillas, but can spread between 4 tortillas if you spread it thinly. Roll each tortilla up tightly, and score the surface with a serrated knife in 1" diagonal slices. Cut each of the score lines all the way through. Use your hands to pull the pinwheels apart very gently if they were squished in the process. Arrange your Antojitos on the preheated cast iron skillet, or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through if possible to ensure an even baking. Switch the oven to broil, and watch closely as you broil them for 2-3 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes, and serve with sour cream or your favorite dipping sauce.

Cranberry Brie Bites 1 (8-oz.) tube crescent dough Cooking spray, for pan Flour, for surface 1 (8-oz.) wheel of brie 1/2 c. whole berry cranberry sauce 1/4 c. chopped pecans 6 sprigs of rosemary, cut into 1" pieces.

VIEW THE FULL RECIPE HERE

Directions Preheat oven to 375° and grease a mini muffin tin with cooking spray. On a lightly floured surface, roll out crescent dough, and pinch together seams. Cut into 24 squares. Place squares into muffin tin slots. Cut brie into small pieces and place inside the crescent dough. Top with a spoonful of cranberry sauce, some chopped pecans, and one little sprig of rosemary. Bake until the crescent pastry is golden, about 15 minutes.

Baked Biscuit Wreath Dip 1 can refrigerated biscuits (such as Pillsbury) extra-virgin olive oil, for brushing biscuits 1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan 2 c. shredded mozzarella 1 c. ricotta 3/4 c. frozen spinach, defrosted and chopped 1/4 c. mayonnaise 2 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. kosher salt Crushed red pepper flakes, for garnish

VIEW THE FULL RECIPE HERE

Directions Preheat oven to 350°. Halve biscuits and flatten each one out, then roll into a ball and place in an oven-proof skillet seam side down. Arrange in a ring around the skillet. Brush biscuits with olive oil and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon Parmesan. In a large bowl, combine mozzarella, ricotta, spinach, Parmesan, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and salt and mix until combined. Spoon dip into center of skillet and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Bake until warmed through, bubbly, and golden, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve hot.

1 and 3/4 cups sweet corn (use frozen that has been thawed, drained canned corn, or cut off the cob (2 ears)) 1 and 3/4 cups cherry tomatoes, quartered (1-10 oz container) 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced 1/3 cup red onion, diced Note 1 2 tablespoons diced jalapeño Note 2 1/3 cup finely chopped cilantro (measured after chopping; ~3/4 of 1 bunch) 1 can (15.25 oz.) black beans, drained and rinsed 1 can (15.5 oz.) black-eyed peas, drained and rinsed 2 small/medium ripe avocados, diced (heaping 1 cup; 160g), optional DRESSING 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice 2 teaspoon white granulated sugar 1 teaspoon chili powder (I use McCormick, which is very mild) 1/2 teaspoon EACH: ground cumin, paprika, dijon mustard 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil Fine sea salt and freshly cracked pepper Tortilla chips, for serving Additional cilantro and lime wedges, for serving, optional

Directions VEGGIE PREP: (As you prep these veggies remember the results are best when all of the ingredients are roughly the same size, so aim to dice the veggies around the size of the beans.) Cut the corn off the cob. Quarter the cherry tomatoes, dice the red pepper, dice the green pepper, finely dice the jalapeño and cilantro. COMBINE: Add all the prepped veggies to a large bowl with the drained and rinsed black beans and black-eyed peas. DRESSING: Add all the dressing ingredients to a Mason jar. Seal the jar and shake until combined. Season to taste-- I add 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt and pepper. AVOCADO AND DRESSING: Right before serving, dice the optional avocados and gently stir into the caviar. Drizzle dressing. (There is a lot, but we like it all; feel free to add less if desired.) Taste and season to taste; I usually add another 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt (up to 1/2 teaspoon); depending on how ripe the veggies are you may need more or less. Taste a few times and add slowly.

Warm and Cheesy Bacon Dip 16 ounces (453.59 ml) sour cream 12 ounces (340.2 g) bacon, cooked and crumbled 8 ounces (226.8 g) cream cheese, at room temperature 8 ounces (226.8 g) cheddar cheese, shredded (about 2 cups) ⅓ cup (33.33 g) sliced scallions, about 3 scallions

THE CONVERSATION In a world that's becoming increasingly diverse, businesses need to reflect this diversity not only in their workforce but also in their visual branding. Inclusive branding is more than just a trend; it's a powerful way to connect with a broader audience, foster goodwill, and ultimately drive growth. In this article, we'll explore why diversity in visual branding is essential and provide you with three key takeaways to help you integrate it successfully into your social media and marketing strategies.

The Power of Diversity in Visual Branding: 3 Key Takeaways for Your Business written by MORGAN ONDREE

reflect your audience

The first and most crucial takeaway when it comes to embracing diversity in your visual branding is to reflect your audience accurately. Your brand should be a mirror of the diverse world we live in. Understand that your customers come from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. When you represent diversity in your visual content, your audience can see themselves in your brand.

how to achieve this

a. Conduct market research to understand your target audience's demographics, preferences, and values. b. Ensure your imagery and content feature people from different racial, ethnic, gender, and age groups. c. Be authentic – avoid tokenism, and genuinely celebrate diversity in your branding.

Inclusivity is Good for Business

Be Mindful of Stereotypes

Beyond being the right thing to do, promoting diversity and inclusion in your visual branding is also smart business. Companies that prioritize diversity have been shown to have higher levels of innovation, stronger customer loyalty, and improved financial performance.

One of the pitfalls to avoid when incorporating diversity in your branding is falling into stereotypes. Stereotypical representations of different groups can be harmful and counterproductive. Instead, aim for authentic, nuanced portrayals of people from various backgrounds.

Key practices for inclusive branding

How to steer clear of stereotypes

a. Cultivate a diverse workforce: Start from within by fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. Your team should represent different perspectives and backgrounds.

a. Consult with experts: Seek guidance from diversity and inclusion experts or consultants who can help you avoid unintentional stereotypes.

b. Collaborate with diverse influencers: Partner with influencers and creators who align with your values and can authentically engage diverse audiences. c. Celebrate cultural events and milestones: Show your support for cultural celebrations and milestones by creating content that acknowledges and respects these events.

b. Focus on individual stories: Showcase the unique stories and experiences of your employees, customers, and community members. c. Encourage feedback: Be open to feedback from your audience and make adjustments when necessary. Listen to concerns and criticisms with empathy and a willingness to improve.

Incorporating diversity into your visual branding is not just about checking a box;

It's about building a stronger, more inclusive, and successful brand. By reflecting your audience, understanding the business benefits, and being mindful of stereotypes, you can create a visual branding strategy that resonates with a broader spectrum of people. Remember, the more inclusive your brand is, the more it can connect, inspire, and grow in a diverse world.

THE ART OF

Storytelling

WRITTEN BY KRYSTLE CHURCH

Remember those alluring tales from childhood – the ones whispered beneath blanket forts by flashlight or giggling by a crackling fireplace over the holidays? We didn’t know it at the time, but those moments were early lessons in the world's most captivating art form: Story.

An artform that - when used correctly - can pull your brand to the forefront of your industry with significant financial and customer loyalty gains. But with the constant barrage of generic brand narratives filling our screens, painting our billboards, and dancing through our ad campaigns... If you truly want to capture, and hold, your target market’s eye long enough for them to make a purchasing decision in your favor, you need to do more than simply rinse and repeat your brand story to stand out —

OUR BRAIN ON STORIES: WHY WE BUY Strategically laced within our evolutionary DNA, it's no accident that the most savvy of brands hardwire storytelling into their marketing – It’s a way to humanize a faceless company, communicate brand values that resonate with the consumer, and oftentimes throw humor and heart into an otherwise dry relationship.

→ You need to master the art of

*There’s a reason the “most shared Super Bowl ad of all time” was a story of friendship (and beer)

STORYTELLING

But the real power lies in what happens to our brains when stories unfold before us:

"Story-Selling".

Defined by the KC Copy Studio as “The fusion of narratives and strategic messaging, turning simple tales into trust-building, actionprompting masterpieces (one email, website, or sales page at a time)”.

The “Love Drug”

For starters, when we listen to a story, our brains release oxytocin, often dubbed the 'trust' or ‘love’ hormone. A study conducted by Dr. Paul Zak found that narratives which are tension-filled, particularly with a climax and resolution, cause our brain to produce more oxytocin, leading us to trust the storyteller more. Why this matters: A perfectlyplaced story in a customer’s journey can foster trust with a prospect pre-purchase. And the more they trust, the more they buy.

Taste on the Tip of your Tongue

— Is to give today’s modern consumer exactly what they’re craving.

As observed in fMRI scans, when we listen to a story, various regions of our brain light up with activity, not just the linguistic processing parts associated with listening to facts.

And the brands that do an exceptional job of this, will be the ones that win the most customers and ultimately, succeed.

For instance, if someone describes in detail what it felt like to bite into a fresh lemon slice. The way the sour citrus scent filled their nose in the second before, and how the juice felt as it hit their tongue… Our sensory cortex gets involved, making us feel like we can practically taste the lemon being described. Why this matters: Narratives give your brand the upper-hand at fostering deeper emotional connections, greater memory retention, and building trust that ultimately leads to resonating profoundly with your audience.

Let them Eat Cake! To top it off, according to the Content Marketing Institute, 92% of consumers actually want brands to make ads that feel like a story. To paint a picture Elicit emotions Give them an experience –

How To Write Stories That Matter To Your Audience I remember attending a Marketing workshop in 2022 with a line up of incredible speakers – Talented entrepreneurs sharing their secrets of growing their company from 10, to 20, to 50 million per year. But despite the captivating numbers, one speaker in particular stood out. Not for presentation…

her

polished

But for a story she shared that felt like it was plucked out of my own life. The challenges, the emotions, the turning points all felt eerily similar to something I was facing, making me lean in, connect, and ultimately, trust.

→ It's a testament to the power of pivoting perspectives.

Rather than positioning your brand as the infallible hero, craft human-centered, relatable stories where your audience can mentally place themselves in story’s shoes – going through the same beliefs, emotions, trials, tribulations, crushing low points and soaring epiphanies that the “hero” in your story goes through. Don’t be afraid to share the vulnerable parts of your (or your brand’s) story – Because by letting your audience attach themselves to this identity as they read your sales page, website, and email campaigns, you ensure that your audience doesn't just read your message— They feel it. They live it. And they trust you because of it. Feeling tantalized yet? You’d better be, because we’re about to cover…

THE 5 ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF STORY-DRIVEN CONVERSION COPY

Alright, you now know that storytelling is critical to crafting copy that converts leads into paying customers – but how do you actually weave it all together? As a conversion copywriter and founder of The KC Copy Studio, a lot of copy crosses my desk. But the stories that stick? The ones that generate new revenue, increase Brand Loyalty & Lifetime Customer Value… And ultimately fuel profit and growth?

→ They’re the ones that fuse the

customer journey with the product’s solution using these 5 key elements:

Your Voice of Customer: Crafting effective sales copy starts with listening. Surveying your email list; Interviewing past clients & customers; Mining threads, forums, communities and reviews; are all staple practices necessary for effective messaging. By diving deep into Voice of Customer (VOC) data, you begin to understand the intricate nuances of the audience you’re writing for. This isn't about finding generic pain points. It's about the real hopes, beliefs, and dreams of your ideal customer. Discovering their story allows you to craft a narrative where they see themselves as the main character, making your brand's solution hyper-targeted and incredibly compelling.

Perspective Shifts: Why haven’t past solutions or competing offers worked for your audience? It’s likely because they were missing the Unique Differentiator that your Brand offers. This strategy is something most companies miss, and thus, if you do this properly, it’ll set you and your offer apart in the marketplace. For companies with innovative offers, unique approaches or frameworks, or problems your ideal customer has already failed to solve with another approach, this is particularly relevant. This is one of the most powerful storytelling techniques we use to increase conversions on our clients’ sales pages, websites, and promotional email campaigns. Once you separate yourself from everyone else in the same market by educating your customer, you position yourself as the only viable solution to help them. The Emotional Connection: Facts might provide information, but emotions drive action – and ultimately, sales. Understanding this is crucial for story-selling. By forging an emotional bond, you're not just selling a product or service; you're offering a transformation.

How do you do it?

By showing the human-element behind your brand. Founder stories go well here, showing the real-life efforts going into the creation of your product. There’s a reason one of the most popular Youtube channels is a Tokyobased shoemaker slowly and quietly producing high-quality Loafers. Shaping Beliefs: At the core of every purchasing decision is a belief. Maybe it's the belief that a product will solve a problem, or that joining a community will provide belonging. By guiding your audience through a transformative narrative, you're not just informing them; you're reshaping their beliefs, leading them organically to a buying decision. When you use VOC to develop hyper-specific messaging around your prospect’s beliefs, what they hold on to now, and what they need to believe, who they need to become, in order to make a buying decision – That’s when you have copy that’ll reliably close sales.

Consistent Messaging for a Cohesive Journey: If your funnel isn’t telling one specific story of transformation, it’s more than likely that leads going from your

Landing Page, to Emails, to Event, to Sales Page, to more Emails, are dropping off more than they should. Ensure that your core message, the belief that they need to adopt to purchase your product, is consistent across all your marketing channels. When analyzing the copy of Online Service Providers and Coaches wanting support fixing their funnels or web copy, some of the highest drop-off rates we see are due to mismatched messaging from one point in a customer’s specific journey to the next. i.e. fix your messaging and you’ll likely increase your conversion rates.

Practical Tips For Your Highest-Traffic Areas When crafting Sales Copy with a storytelling lens (like we do at The KC Copy Studio), it's essential to remember that every customer interaction offers an opportunity to advance the narrative, connect more deeply with your audience, and prompt them towards the desired action. Use these actionable steps this week to increase the caliber of story in your marketing and ultimately drive more sales:

In Your Emails Develop Binge-Worthy Newsletters: They're like mini-episodes in a long-running series – and your brand’s opportunity to share more personal anecdotes from the founder or shine the spotlight on a heartwarming customer feedback story. Putting the effort in here to send strategic, entertaining, and value-driven emails regularly (with a goal in mind) will cultivate a warm and engaged list of buyers for pop-up promotions and launch campaigns. Personalize The Protagonist: As much as you can, segment your email list and tailor your newsletters and sales campaigns to each segment, crafting stories for that avatar’s specific journey. Is it more work? Yes. Does it result in increased engagement and sales? Also yes. (Once you see this at play, it’s a no-brainer.) Craft An Abandon Cart Spotlight: Bring in a relatable story of someone who benefited from the product or service the reader left behind. Then, highlight the transformation or satisfaction they experienced to nudge the reader to complete the purchase. Pro Tip: Focus on a story that handles a common objection your avatar has about said Offer. Seeing someone else acknowledge and overcome this with a positive transformation will entice them to do the same.

On Your Website Create A "Hero’s Journey" About Page: Your 'About' Page isn’t just about the product or business as it exists now; it’s about the journey (of both yours and your customer’s). Show them the challenges faced, the obstacles overcome, and the solutions that were found as it relates back to their story. Use Visual Storytelling: Incorporate graphics, videos, and images that visually depict the transformation or journey your service/product offers. This multi-dimensional storytelling technique can drive home your written content's messages even more. Inject Micro-Stories through Testimonials + Case Studies: Use bite-sized narratives that are easily relatable and show the ‘Struggle to Transformation’ journey your past clients have taken.

Restructure the Offer to Change the Narrative: Sales Page not converting? Consider the story your offer is telling. Instead of 5 features included in the price, split test your customer paying the same cost for one primary feature with the rest of the features received as “Free” bonuses. By A/B testing this, you can find where your audience places the most value and position it accordingly. A Testimonial is worth 1000 marketing words: Testimonials are the difference between your customer saying, “This might work for me,” and “This will work for me.” So use them strategically to carefully handle objections. Remember, by changing the customer’s narrative about the product, you can increase their likelihood of purchasing tenfold. Don’t shy away here, the more quality social proof, the stronger the narrative becomes.

With the modern consumer demanding more authenticity and connection each year (and the rise of AI making people question more and more the person behind the written word) – mastering brand storytelling is sure to be one of the defining characteristics of successful businesses in 2024. It is also just one of the many strategies that we use at The KC Copy Studio to secure abovemarket-average results for our clients. Head to our site or send me a DM to learn more about how we help female-founded brands scale profitably with Website, Email, and Sales Page Copy.

On Your Sales Pages Step Into Their Shoes: Plenty of Service Providers and Coaches miss the mark here, mistakenly crafting generic “Do you feel like…” and “Imagine If” statements before swiftly moving on to showcase the Product’s features. Instead, use Voice of Customer Data to tell the story of your customer solving their problems through the product – from the start of the page until the end.

INNOVATIVE HOLIDAY MARKETING CAMPAIGNS

Brands That Truly Became ICONIC

The festive season serves as a canvas for brands to showcase their creative prowess. With the holidays nearing, we’re all familiar with the glitzy advertisements that flood our screens, presenting tales of joy, warmth, and wonder. Yet, a select few stand out, leaving an indelible mark on our minds and hearts. These aren’t just advertisements—they are branding masterpieces, delivering messages that resonate deeply and creating memories that last.

1. John Lewis & Partners: "The Boy and the Piano" Remember young Elton John playing away on his first piano? John Lewis delved into the idea of gifts being more than just objects. They are sometimes the start of a journey. This advert is not only touching but strategically positions John Lewis as a brand that understands the profound emotional connections we share with our gifts. The branding takeaway? A well-told story transcends product placement, ingraining the brand into the fabric of heartfelt moments.

2. Coca-Cola: "Holidays are Coming" Coca-Cola’s holiday campaigns have always been iconic, but the "Holidays are Coming" truck has turned into a symbol of the festive season. Every time the illuminated trucks grace our screens, they bring with them an aura of anticipation and joy. Coca-Cola doesn’t just sell a drink, they sell an emotion, a festive spirit that’s hard to replicate. Branding-wise, they’ve made themselves synonymous with the holiday season, and that’s sheer genius.

3. Apple: "The Surprise" The festive season serves as a canvas for brands to showcase their creative prowess.

4. Starbucks: "Give Good" Starbucks' "Give Good" holiday campaign is a testament to the brand's commitment to spreading warmth, love, and unity. More than just selling coffee, Starbucks paints a picture of shared moments, community, and the small gestures that make the holiday season special. Through artful storytelling, Starbucks transforms their iconic cup into a symbol of the season’s goodwill and generosity. This is branding genius, where the essence of the brand merges with the festive spirit, crafting a memorable experience for its customers and making every sip feel like a shared celebration.

5. Campbells Soup: "Melting Snowman" Campbell's iconic "Melting Snowman" commercial is a heartwarming throwback that tugs at the nostalgic strings of viewers. Beyond the simple charm, Campbell's masterfully positions its soup as a beacon of warmth and comfort during the cold winter months. The melting snowman, rejuvenated by the allure of a hot bowl of Campbell’s soup, embodies the power of a warm meal to melt away the winter chill. This is branding in its coziest form, where a brand's essence is interwoven with feelings of home, warmth, and familial bonds, crafting an enduring memory for its audience.

6. Gucci: "Gift Giving" Gucci's whimsical holiday campaigns have always been a visual treat. But beyond the aesthetics, Gucci excels at portraying their products as not mere accessories but as works of art. Every item, from a handbag to a pair of shoes, is showcased in a manner that evokes the aura of exclusivity and luxury. This is branding at its finest, where a brand's identity seamlessly aligns with its offerings, creating an aspirational world for its audience.

THE POWER OF BRANDING IN HOLIDAY CAMPAIGNS Every holiday season, brands vie for the attention of consumers, hoping to make their mark. Yet, the truly iconic ones understand that it isn’t just about flashy visuals or catchy jingles. It’s about weaving a narrative, one that aligns with the brand’s core values and resonates with the audience on a profound level. In the world of branding, consistency, authenticity, and connection are paramount. Ghost of

SERVICE PROVIDERS

In the whimsical realm of service providers, we often encounter a peculiar breed of clients that could be compared to the "Ghost of Service Providers Past," a nod to Charles Dickens' timeless classic, "A Christmas Carol." These spectral figures, while not necessarily phantoms in the traditional sense, do share a spectral quality about them. Like apparitions, they materialize, then fade away, leaving service providers in a haze of cryptic experiences.

The first ghost, a phantom with an aura of enigma, often sends messages such as, "Project scope? We'll know it when we see it." They are the enigmatic figures who sweep into your professional life, armed with a project description as mysterious as the Bermuda Triangle. With them, you embark on a voyage without a map, often finding yourself stranded in an endless sea of revisions and scope creep.

past

As we delve deeper into the ethereal landscape, we encounter the spirits that cast an eerie spell: "Low budget, high expectations." These are the apparitions who conjure visions of grandeur on a shoestring budget, believing they can receive a diamond ring while paying for a gumball machine prize. Their spectral presence flutters like a warning against descending into the quicksand of overpromise and underdelivery. Next, we confront the 'Client of Eternal Delays,' a haunting figure whose presence is akin to a perpetual fog that shrouds your projects in uncertainty. Postponements become their favorite incantation, and unpaid bills a ghostly reminder of their vanishing act.

The 'Silent Specter' then glides into view—a client who excels at disappearing acts. They beckon you into their realm, promising collaboration and potential. But then, they vanish, leaving you in suspense, emails echoing in silence, and calls met with empty echoes. It's as if they've stepped into a dimension of perpetual quietude. Another phantasmal character to watch for is the 'Scope Creep Specter.' They lull you into a false sense of security with a seemingly clear project scope, only to unravel layers of additional tasks as the project unfolds. They haunt you with the creeping expansion of tasks, turning your once-clear path into an ever-shifting labyrinth. Finally, we come upon the 'Phantom of Micromanagement,' a specter who hovers with relentless scrutiny. They are the strings that manipulate your every move, demanding your undivided attention as they pull the marionette's strings. You become a puppet in their eerie puppet show.

But take heart, for there is a silver lining in this ghostly narrative. Amidst the fog of these 'Ghosts of Service Providers Past,' these spectral clients reveal themselves as opportunities to exercise discernment and trust your instincts. Sometimes, it's better to confront these apparitions and set boundaries before they lead you deeper into the misty labyrinth.

In mastering the art of discernment, you can avoid the phantom pains and continue your journey towards a brighter, more illuminated professional landscape. So, the next time you encounter the 'Ghosts of Service Providers Past,' remember to raise your lantern of wisdom, illuminate the path, and navigate through the realm of service providers with a discerning eye.
