I remember hearing an interview where a woman was sharing how she brought herself to a mirror, looked in it and realized she had never responded to the reflection staring back at her with loving eyes. The lens a mother uses to look at her child.

She went on a journey to provide the love that she desired to receive from others to herself. It created a deep appreciation for the reflection looking back at her and love affair with herself that became the catalyst for a life soaked in pleasure.

When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said “I love you! I really really love you” like you genuinely mean it?

What would it feel like to do this for yourself?

Uncomfortable at first? Perhaps.

Soul giving? I would think so.

Sometimes it’s walking and exploring and other times it’s a plush bathrobe and room service. At least once a quarter I get away to be in solitude and stillness with myself. I’m a better mom, wife and CEO as a result.

I challenge you to discover what three practices you can implement to receive what you desire from others but instead give to yourself. The secret is to ask “what are possible self sabotaging habits that could stand in the way of doing this” and “what do I know to be true if I do this for myself”?

The reason I ask you to extend your practices with more thought and consideration is to acknowledge the habits and patterns that could stand in the way if you allow them, so that they don’t.

I also believe in deepening your desire to follow through because you realize how good it will feel and who you will become on the other side of practicing it. This will be your greatest accountability for following through.

Connection

Holding the passion and love for your business over time, is very similar to a romantic relationship. The initial butterflies of excitement and anticipation when you first start building a business become replaced with the feeling of responsibility for what it takes to have it last a lifetime. Just like a relationship, we can start focusing on what isn’t working versus what is, which shadows our passion. Similarly, we can begin to taint the love for what we are doing by comparing it to others and making it not good enough.

Many have asked me how I continue to be so passionate about entrepreneurship after eighteen years. There is a curiosity around how I have managed to never quit and how I have remained inspired for so long. I get it.

There are many points in the journey where we wonder if it’s all worth it. There are moments when we start to fantasize about doing a job that is simple and collecting a paycheck with the same amount of money on the same day every time. The seduction of complacency and certainty is real. The exhaustion of entrepreneurship happens.

The important piece is who are we when these moments hit?

Over eighteen years there are certain decisions I have made that I believe have led me to the point of nearly two decades in entrepreneurship. These choices were pivotal in my longstanding success and have given me tremendous trust in myself which in turn has given my community trust in me as well.

They know I’m a leader they can follow. I can narrow it down to three things that I have practiced to support my great love affair with entrepreneurship and the life long commitment to the relationship I have with my business.

When I started my journey, I sat in my makeshift office and said a prayer. I asked that I would never forget the moment I decided to go all-in and where I came from. I committed to anchoring in the emotions and feelings of saying yes to myself, of standing up to the nah-sayers and having blind belief in something that I wasn’t sure would even work. It wasn’t to perpetuate it. It was to remember. I believe that my compassion and understanding as a leader to thousands has benefited from this promise. When someone is in the midst of a pivot or starting something new, I can drop into the feelings I have also had to navigate. I don’t separate myself and instead I hold the space for it. It sparks excitement and has ignited my passion over and over again for entrepreneurship. When I have moments of wavering belief, I remember that I can trust myself. I acknowledge that there was a time when I had no evidence that this would work and now I have a rear view mirror of stacked successes. I fall back in love with the nostalgia of how far I’ve come.

Don’t get too far away from the remembrance. Stay connected to why you started in the first place and celebrate the journey this far. It’s a beautiful way to stay in love. I often picture my husband and I much older reminiscing about our life together. I also want to do this with my business.

The second anchor to remaining passionate is my commitment to innovation and creation.

The one thing I am never short of is ideas. I love to innovate and refine. Whether it be in my home, my appearance or in my business, I get bored of the same old same old and so the spark to create has built a gorgeous masterpiece over time. I live my days like I am painting a beautiful work of art. I love living with intentionality and raising standards of excellence. This is the story behind my company name Becoming Iconic.

It stems from my dedication to become a better version of myself every day. While so many entrepreneurs stay stuck on what once worked, forcing it to sustain, I am the one who turns things on its head and constantly invites play and curiosity into my business. I find it removes the attachment to outcomes and instead focuses the attention onto building and creating with a childlike mindfulness. I am more interested in the response and feeling around the things I do than the actual outcome. I believe that the community, the wealth, the visibility will always be the side effect to my leadership, innovation and creation. So far, it has proven to be true.

Lastly, I revel in the fact that I am a visionary.

Entrepreneurship rests on your ability to dream and then dream bigger. I can’t tell you how many clients I have had to revive because they met their initial goal and stayed there. They didn’t think bigger.

They didn’t expand their vision with their growth. They got to a summit and couldn’t see past it. Passion and the love of their business was suffocated by their lack of clarity and progression. My personal promise has been to have a vision and dream so big that others around me can’t grasp it. I realized that if everyone around me can see my vision, it’s not big enough. I hold myself highly accountable to casting a wider net and dancing with potentiality. I don’t want to live a life of just enough. I desire to relish in every aspect I possibly can for myself, my family and for those who I am fortunate enough to inspire. To stay in love with the journey is to be able to look forward to the carrot dangling in front of you that gives you the energy to rise up again and again. It makes every bump, bruise and pain worth it because you know it’s one step closer to the vision you have for yourself.

Like a relationship, keeping the spark alive is a daily commitment to remembering how far you’ve come and allowing that to build the trust that you can overcome again, finding ways to create and innovate to keep the spirit alive and having a vision so big and beautiful that you pay more attention to where you are going so that the bumps don’t take you down.

It’s been vital to my longevity as an entrepreneur and I gift this to you so that you remain utterly in love with your business and purpose.

Melanie and Kevin I am so excited to be spending time highlighting your incredible partnership and the evolution you must have gone through over the last few years. What was it like in the early days of your relationship?

K:

The feeling of excitement and growth was unlike anything I’d ever experienced before. Melanie came into my life with new perspectives, new energies, and just the way she experienced life kept me on my toes and wanting more at all times. Her desire for a meaningful life, and the way she made me feel like anything was possible was so different, so refreshing, so vibrant. I couldn’t wait for the next moment, the next day...because I knew I was going to learn something or experience something new.

M:

In the early stages of our relationship, we lived on minimum wage and romance. Kevin came from a small farm town and was content with very little, and I was just finding my footing as I rebuilt my life. Life was simple, yet felt so complex. Our favourite activity was contemplating a better life in the hammock on our back porch, looking up at a net of twinkling lights we pretended were stars.

What is your most treasured memory of your relationship prior to your world becoming what it is today?

K:

I’m going to lump a whole bunch together into one category of memories and that is: Road Trips. We traveled so much early on. We would just drive and talk, and drive and connect, and drive and create. I still get excited every time we get into the car to go on a trip because of the foundation we built. A 12-14 hour drive became nothing because we were constantly feeling inspired!

M:

One of my favourite memories was the first time I ever visited Kevin’s family on the farm. It was Thanksgiving, we had only been “official” for a few weeks, and he showed me the property his greatgrandfather bought and told me tales of how generations of his lineage lived off the land. We played hide and seek in the corn field with his nieces and nephews, walked through the apple orchard at sunset, and star-gazed on the old wooden swing set still standing strong by the pond. I remember all of it so vividly.

Kevin, did you always know that Melanie would become the woman she is today? Did you have that foresight or was this an expansion that you witnessed in real time with her?

Honestly, I didn’t think much about what she would become, because everything that was happening was just so unreal, so fascinating, so...wild that I was always in the magic of the present moment. The things that would happen to us when she was there had never happened to me before, and it all just sort of became our lives. Every step of the way she’s been perfect for me. Had she stayed exactly the same as day one, that would have been perfect. It’s her values, morals, and heart that make her who she is. Those things have never changed, and those are what make her perfect.

Melanie, I know in my experience with self led clients and I am sure you have had this with your clients as well, there is a fear of outgrowing our partners because of the amount of personal growth we are exposed to. Did you ever worry about outgrowing your relationship and if so, how did you overcome that? If not, how did you ground that?

One of the greatest pearls of wisdom the pain from my past life taught me is that the focused fear on a certain outcome is one of the surest ways to call in the very experience we fear. I choose to live my life with the belief that everything could absolutely work out exactly the way I wish it could. And I do everything in my power to imagine that outcome and every detail about it as often as possible. After having lived some of the heartaches and pains I have lived in my life, I know for certain that if my idealistic dreams are to fall or crumble, I will be okay. I do not need to protect myself from the possibility of failure. If I believed that Kevin was incapable of growing with me, I would have to reevaluate my relationship entirely. But fear isn’t based on what we believe in, it’s based on the possibility that what we believe in that is beautiful may not come true.

I am so curious to know from the both of you what your personal challenges have been as Alpha Femme has taken off? Would you allow us to learn through your experiences?

K:

The most challenging thing for me has been embracing the “behind the scenes” work. I had always been the face, the “frontman”, the talent, never venturing much into being the support-system. But when Melanie’s business took off, I felt the need for my role to become much more on the business side of things, the finances, the websites, the background work. It has been a massive learning curve for me to wear so many of these different hats, I’ve made many mistakes along the way, but the breadth of what I’ve learned in the last few years, taking on this challenge, has been life-changing.

M:

My biggest challenge has been processing the dehumanization that has come from strangers on the internet. In the beginning stages, when a person I didn’t

know would find me online, more often than not, they would see me as they would see anyone else - just a person doing their best, hoping to succeed. For some, it was difficult to believe that I could ever make it. For others, they rooted for me as an underdog. I can’t say my encounters with new humans on the internet were always pleasant, but they were always human. As the success became unrealistic, it’s almost as though I became unreal. It felt as though I had transcended my humanity into an ideal or concept to be idolized or vilified. Being able to process this without letting it into my heart, my nervous system, my thoughts, or my fears has been the greatest challenge thus far.

I personally have a question that I have been aching to ask. This comes from my own experience of being the woman of my home, the partner to my husband and also the one who is the primary income earner and the shift in traditional dynamics. How have you navigated this in your life? I would love to know from both of you, has there ever been a time where this challenged you as the “man” and as the “woman” within your relationship?

K:

Melanie and I have such a balanced dynamic in the masculine/feminine energies. We really flow well together. When one is in masculine, the other flows to the feminine, and vice versa. But I will say that I have had to adapt my “old school” way of thinking as Melanie has become so successful. My beliefs about a masculine foundation had to expand from what I can give, from just money to things like time, attention, orderliness, space, support, sustenance, compassion, and understanding. I truly feel this has expanded my capacity as a man and as a human.

M:

I have never been in a relationship that fully aligned with the gender role concept. Ever since I was a little girl, I have taken on roles that “shouldn’t have been mine.”

I have contemplated these dynamics greatly since my “new beginning” in 2013. What I most desire in a relationship is to be the person I’ve always dreamed of being, loved and supported by a person who is also who they’ve always dreamed of being. If the reality of those dreams come true are compatible, that’s the dream relationship in my books. There are outside pressures and societal expectations that will probably always be there to poke their noses in, but I’ve broken just about every rule I’ve ever been given so it isn’t shocking to anyone who knows me when I defy societal constructs of this nature.

The way I see the two of you love, respect and support each other is nothing short of pure inspiration. Thank you for being such a gorgeous example of what this gets to be like for us! Kevin, what are some things you do for Melanie that allow you to care for her, have her drop into her feminine and have you rise into your masculine?

Truthfully, it is far less about the things I do and far more about the energy in which I do them. The moment Melanie has finished leading a call or a training is the moment I allow my masculine, giving energy to kick in because I know she’s just given her all for others and it’s time for her to be replenished. I like to be the structure-keeper in our relationship because she loves to break the rules. It actually creates quite a fun dynamic for us. (Well, me. Lol!) And I really try to focus on the little things she enjoys that inspire her: a coffee with a beautiful design on it, the way the food is displayed on the plate, a flower arrangement, or really just any creative display I can come up with. As in nature, the male prepares the nest and puts on a display so that the female will be smitten by him…that’s how I rise.

What is your greatest memory together?

K:

There’s only one greatest memory for me and that is the moment Melanie said, “Yes!”. It was the most alive I’ve ever felt, and the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I had just gotten the ring, the one she would never expect to get, and I just could not wait. As soon as I had that ring in my hand, I just had to ask her. She was coming back from a trip overseas and I was meeting her at the airport, but she didn’t know.

I met her with a bouquet of flowers - 6 red for the 6 years we’d been together and 6 white for the 6 more decades I wanted to spend with her. As soon as I had her alone I popped the question…in the parking lot of the airport. Even just recalling it brings back so much happiness and excitement! That was the moment my dreams came true.

M:

There are so many memories, it seems unfair to all the others to pick just one.

(Plus I don’t like rules!) But…what I’ll share is a moment in which I felt like every reality I’ve ever lived converged into one dream come true. It was October 2022, and for our engagement anniversary, we decided to escape without anyone knowing whatsoever. Not our families, not our team, not our clients…nobody, as to not have to share this precious moment with anyone, to not be recognized at the airport, to not have our location leaked, or somehow bump into clients or followers on the street or at a cafe. Even though I rescheduled calls with my clients for a week, I kept them on my work calendar as a decoy. We rented a private jet, everything through text message, no email trail. And in the middle of the night we were picked up by a black SUV and driven directly onto the tarmac in Toronto and escorted onto the most beautiful jet. Just the two of us, destination…Paris.

Kevin, I have watched you rebrand and relaunch your incredible Effortless Alpha platform. The fact that you are leading men to be, do and have the type of fulfillment that you have led for yourself and your relationship is so necessary. Thank you for that. What are you most passionate about when you think of your vision?

Thank you so much! What I am most passionate about is helping men get out of their own way, get free from the societal pressures of what men are “supposed” to be, and into what each man desires for himself. As we grow up, most of us lose the passions we had in order to fulfill the script that society, and the men before us, have written for us. And so many of us end up unhappy, living a life for someone else, but we do it because it’s what we believe is expected. It’s time to change that narrative. It’s time to honour individual masculinity and let men be who they want to be. Every man deserves to be happy in his own way…and I want to be the catalyst for that.

Melanie, you always surprise and delight us. I have been a student, a peer and a woman of gratitude for you for many years. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. You are a blessing! Can we have a little sneak peak into what is in store for us within the future of Alpha Femme?

In the Alpha Femme world...the sky isn’t even the limit. I have just pre-launched the NEXT level of my flagship offer! It will be launching to the public, officially, at the beginning of February. Although I enjoy mystery, it’s not always on purpose that I keep things a secret.

Inspiration comes in a moment for me. What I can say is lean in, stay close, there’s never a dull moment!

If there were one piece of advice you could leave us with to have a life, relationship and business that takes our breath away daily and soaks us in pleasure and fulfillment, what would that be?

K:

Whatever you’re experiencing right now is not IT. There’s more. Each moment has the possibility to change. There’s more to come, something different is on the horizon. Now is not here forever. Something better is on the way if you truly believe it is.

M:

Most of us run after our dreams with a childlike belief that we can have everything...we cannot have everything. But we can have anything. The difference between anything and everything is astronomical, and the understanding brings us to a very heightened acceptance and emotional and spiritual maturity.

Anything can happen on any day. This means we must feel capable and prepared to experience highs and lows, good and bad, hard and easy, all on the same day.

The closer together we can experience moments of joy and sadness, heartache and bliss, the more full our life can be. Let joy ruin your sadness, and don’t dismiss a joy that is interrupted by a moment of sadness either.

All means all. This is how you truly have it...all.

How to Build a Unicorn

I was 10 when I asked my parents how to answer the question about “what they did”. As entrepreneurs, they laughed when I asked “who gave them that job”.

My dad started his company with nothing but gumption. One investor recognized it, bet on him, and the rest is history. Gumption, and grit were my standard of normalcy.

I learned firsthand the unpredictability of entrepreneurship in my family of entrepreneurs, as I watched my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles (and later, my in-laws) start, build, sell, rinse and repeat.

My dad’s industry is one of the most historically litigious, but I cannot remember a single time that my parents were worried or distracted about the legal side of business. Just as I was taught that entrepreneurship requires faith, I watched my dad always invest in the best attorneys, so that he had advocates in his corner.

My first job as a lawyer was anything but glamorous, or comfortable. It was gritty.

Think less “Suits”, and instead, picture oil stains on the floor from our clients’ boots. They were literally the boots on the ground in their industries.

I was in the courtroom by week 1. It was the deep end. When there is no option other than to learn how to sink or swim, you learn to do the latter-fast. Little did I know how valuable that lesson would soon become. When I was finally finding my stride, the diagnosis of a lifethreatening illness burned my world down.

On paper, I was “on track” in this industry I had longed to be a part of for so many years. Privately, I was offered disability, and asked how I wanted to spend my “good” days. Until that question, I couldn’t hear, much less define that persistent voice of intuition I’d quietly pushed down. In the hospital bed, it became undeniably loud.

It was time to turn away from the pride of “what was expected” in my industry, and chart a new course. The fullest form of realizing my passion for advocacy for entrepreneurs was by operating as the same. So I jumped, with no parachute.

In one of the most traditional industries in the world, it looked crazy from the outside. I was a newlywed, had a high stack of medical bills, and had no choice but to learn how to build a“unicorn business” that could support both. And by doing so, I discovered an even deeper calling to help my clients do the same: build a business that opens the door to a freedom of lifestyle and charts a new course. Success on your own terms?

I recently spoke with a colleague who has done this 18 times. Each of these were “unicorns” in that they stood out in a saturated market, or were a diamond in the rough in an overlooked market.

The only constant to entrepreneurship is the inevitable ebb and flow. The dynamic entrepreneur knows that the truly strategic business model has a protected and strong foundation, is equipped to be flexible in shifting markets, is capable of zigging when everyone else is zagging, and can be sold.

(Right now, you may think you never want to sell your business, but at some point, you will exit it.

Best to do so in a way that creates generational wealth for your family).

So, how did my colleague, and so many like them, create an iconic, sellable business again and again? With this replicable model: 1. Build a business that can be acquired 2. Become an expert in leveraging and monetizing your intellectual property 3. Keep an eye on overlooked, tried and true industries

01 Build a business that can be acquired We’ve all heard that “every business should be built to be sellable”, but what does that actually mean?

The most astounding display of entrepreneurial ingenuity I see is found in those who start with an exit strategy. This expansive view of entrepreneurship allows for the true intersection of life and business.

Many hear “exit strategy” and jump to complex, abstract financial questions. Start simple: Do you (literally) have an entity that can be sold?

For example, do you have a service-based side of the business, as well as a product or course? Take advantage of your win-win opportunity. My law firm, and The Creative Law Shop® are examples of this. Once I knew they could exist, and grow on their own, I separated the entities (and liability), then capitalized on tax opportunities, which raised the value of the entities. The entities own their respective intellectual property, and one could be sold without harming the other.

Focus on what attracts purchasers.

A purchasing party wants to know that if they acquired your company today, it wouldn’t need you tomorrow.

Particularly in the world of online business, the bulk of negotiations revolve around placing a value on the intangibles - the value of the email list, the social following, and the intellectual property owned by the company. The latter is where the magic can be made.

02 Become an expert in leveraging and monetizing your intellectual property

When tasked with differentiating the business from its crowded field, he didn’t engage in the same competition as his peers (this was in the midst of the Dot Com boom of the early 2000’s, when the industry was fixated on the newest inventions). Instead, he looked at the untapped potential of assets the company already had. Namely, the untapped potential of the company’s intellectual property, and business opportunities (licensing deals and assignments) that had been overlooked in corporate strategy, “collecting dust”.

He recognized that as business in the digital age shifted from a competition of control of markets or materials, the rights to “new ideas and innovations” was the new frontier. And he capitalized on that opportunity.

By registering, and then licensing the company’s already existing intellectual

property, this CEO managed to create a recurring net revenue increase of 3,300% in (largely) free cash flow. A concept brilliant in its simplicity, it's a strategy that can (and should) be replicated by small businesses.

This opportunity exists today in a way not seen since the digitization boom of the 2000’s, thanks to the rise of AI. Entrepreneurs, take note: Right now, the law is uncertain about what intellectual property can be registered if the work is even partially created by AI. Many are creating assets of value that can't even be owned. As more businesses utilize AI to create their IP, founders who create assets they can actually own are creating gold mines for themselves. How valuable can your company be when you’re one of the few who can actually own what you’re creating?

Leverage and monetize intellectual property opportunities The beautiful thing about intellectual property is that it’s an asset inherently created just by doing business.

You own your IP once you register it.

Registration automatically increases the bottom line of a business’ value- you’ve cut down your business’ liability, and created an asset that can be sold (more true than ever, as the US is running out of trademarks).

Even easier? Find licensing opportunities for your registrations- if someone wants to use a variation of that trademark, copyright, etc, license out those rights for a fee.

Stay (professionally) focused on what your competitors are focused on. Instead of worrying about being copied, flip the script, and leverage it- negotiating licensing deals with competitors is one of the easiest ways to land licensing deals, and open the door to a merger or acquisition.

One of my clients gets invited to conferences globally, to tell the story of the hugely successful business she built. Audiences are (rightfully) fascinated with her scalable business model.

The real story happened behind the scenes. She monetized and leveraged every piece of intellectual property she created, and actually created licensing deals from her IP that generate more income than the product she’s known for.

With that income, she invested in a car wash. And then a landscaping company. Nothing exciting, but after 7 similar moves, she is now a passive investor, focusing her time on her family. Investing in and building businesses when she chooses, but it's just that- a choice.

When a recession or pandemic hits, she still has a security net. She’s doing exactly what I watched growing upshe’s diversifying, so that she can ride out the waves of entrepreneurship.

We collaborated with Nike to bring joy to an all-boys orphanage in Panama by providing them with brand new Air Jordan shoes. These boys had been wearing shoes with the toes cut out because their feet had outgrown them. At the time, I was living in Panama, overseeing Sowing Seeds of Love, the educational non-profit I had initiated. One day, I showed up to the orphanage in a pair of Nikes, and the boys were ecstatic! Their enthusiasm for my shoes sparked an idea. Together with a friend and Nike, we orchestrated the donation of Jordan shoes for each of the boys. Recounting this story still brings tears to my eyes, and I can't help but smile from ear to ear.

Keen Self-Care's brick-and-mortar location is making a meaningful difference in the community by partnering with The Napkin Network, a nonprofit dedicated to providing essential items to moms in need. Through Keen Cares, the philanthropic arm we helped establish, they've set up a donation drop-off inside their studio.

Community members can contribute essential items like diapers, wipes, and feminine products to support mothers in need. The community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, resulting in a weekly overflow of donations. Thanks to this dropoff location, The Napkin Network has been able to amplify its impact, supplying more items to additional non-profits across the Washington DC area and Keen Self-Care has growth in new clientele through awareness of the collaboration.

I have big goals and most are not centered around my personal revenue or KPIs or all the things that we normally quantify. My personal goal is to help as many entrepreneurs as I possibly can to break their glass ceiling and seize their greatest fulfillment. To have the audacity to do it for themselves, their families, their communities and the world at large. From the depths of my soul, I desire for more good, loving and visionary leaders to stand in wealth and fulfillment so we actually change the world for the better. The ingredients of who you will become, the clients you will transform and the impact you share through acts of generosity, will leave an imprint and legacy.

I am so passionate about this topic because many of the successful entrepreneurs I work with become comfortable in gratitude and so they flatline at multi six figure years. Believe it or not, but gratitude used in the incorrect way can become your greatest excuse and hindrance to growth. It stems from shame, guilt and a fear of holding more success.

Isn't that an interesting concept to consider? I personally had this realization four years ago when I was pivoting. I had stayed in a business for far too long because I felt I should be more grateful for what I had. I was making more money than anyone I knew and so I decided that being grateful for what I had was the antidote for the ache in my soul for something more. I was making consistent twenty-thirty thousand dollars a month but my spirit was unfulfilled and I was out of alignment. I couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t be happy and grateful for what I had when it was what most people dream of and so I excused my desire for more by using gratitude. I forced it in a way.

It is important that you know I teach and stand for obsessive gratitude. I believe gratitude is imperative to fulfillment and soaking in the beauty of life. Gratitude has taught me presence and has given me celebration and personal acknowledgement within my journey that has been some of my best memories. The tricky part is we can also use it to hold ourselves back or excuse ourselves from next level growth. With my own personal realization of how I was using gratitude to stay safe, I started to notice the gaps within my leadership and relationship with wealth. Revealing these blocks shattered my glass ceiling in real time and I leapt into my million dollar era.

Similarly to toxic positivity, we can misuse gratitude. I witness clients often restricting themselves through statements such as “I am so blessed” or “this is what I once dreamt of” while simultaneously desiring more from their life and business. The recognition of this type of limiting behavior can be one of the greatest breakthroughs someone can have. Taking ownership and responsibility for the big vision I had for my life and realizing how I had boxed myself in “this should be enough” was suffocating and depleting. I own it. My hope is that you start to see it for yourself and break free into abundance, expansion and exhausting all your potential within this lifetime.

Gratitude, like anything, can be twisted. A deep appreciation for what is and what has been does not need to hold you back from what is possible. You were born worthy, capable and available to all the greatness you see for yourself. You won’t hurt anyone by becoming the fullest version of yourself but you may hurt yourself by staying the same. Allow gratitude to spark celebration for all of your successes and yet hold yourself accountable to the tugs upon your heart and spirit for more.

From the moment they settled in with their cappuccinos, Mark took the stage as the solo performer in a one-man show titled "Too Much Information."

As Mark delved into the nitty-gritty of his life, sparing no detail, David found himself navigating through an emotional minefield. The tales ranged from Mark’s digestive troubles last summer to his existential crises at work, complete with a dramatic reenactment of his last breakup – tears and all. It was like a soap opera, but with less glamour and more discomfort.

David, who had come prepared with polite questions about hobbies and favorite movies, found himself unwittingly cast as the lead audience member in the saga of Mark’s life. Each story left David wondering if there was a hidden camera somewhere or if he'd accidentally signed up for a therapy session instead of a date.
