THE PLEASURE OF GOOD FOOD Slow Food is a global eco-gastronomic organization founded in 1986.

It aims to protect the pleasures of goof food against phenomena such as fast food or other eating habits in our nowadays lifestyle.

Slow Food promotes gastronomic culture, defends biodiversity in our food supply, protects our valuable gastronomic heritage and connects sustainable producers to co-producers through different initiatives.

EL PLACER DE LA BUENA MESA Slow Food es una organización ecogastronómica internacional fundada en 1986.

Su objetivo principal es proteger los placeres de la buena mesa ante fenómenos como el fast food o determinados hábitos alimentarios del modo de vida actual.

Slow Food promueve la cultura gastronómica, defiende la biodiversidad en la oferta alimentaria, protege nuestro inestimable patrimonio gastronómico y pone en contacto a productores de alimentos de calidad y a coproductores a través de múltiples iniciativas.

WHERE QUALITY IS EVIDENT Algusto, jointly organized with convivia , by Slow Food in Spain, is an international event inspired by Turin s Salone del Gusto, that gathers artisan producers from all over the world, especially those from the Iberian Peninsula, the Maghreb, European Atlantic Coast, Netherlands, Portugal ), United Kingdom and Ireland and Latin America.

Algusto will become the heart of the Slow Food movement in Spain and the closest road for food producers defending the following values:

DONDE LA CALIDAD SE NOTA Algusto, con la organización conjunta de los convivia de Slow Food en España, es un evento de carácter internacional, inspirado en el Salone del Gusto de Torino, que reúne a los productores artesanales de todo el mundo, especialmente a los de la Península Ibérica, el Magreb, la Costa Atlánica Europea (Francia, Holanda, Portugal...), Reino Unido e Irlanda y Latinoamérica.

Algusto se convertirá en el centro del movimiento Slow Food a nivel nacional y la vía de acceso más cercana a unos productores de alimentos que defienden los valores siguientes:

_ Productos de alta calidad sanos y a precio justo.

_ The protection of the natural resources and biodiversity.

_ Preservación de las variedades autóctonas.

_ Defense of small producers and traditional production processes.

_ La protección de los recursos naturales y la biodiversidad.

This edition will be held together with BioCultura Bilbao, which results in a range of offers oriented to a common public, thus creating an interesting synergy for both initiatives sharing a philosophy: the defense of values and a common lifestyle, which will be showed in the sample, with an increased presence of the expositors and a remarkable growth of the visitors.

Esta edición se celebra conjuntamente con BioCultura Bilbao, lo que supone una suma de ofertas dirigidas a un público común, creando de esta manera una sinergia muy interesante para ambas iniciativas, que comparten una filosofía, la defensa de unos valores y un estilo de vida común, y que por consiguiente quedará patente en la muestra, con una mayor presencia expositiva, y un sustancial incremento de público visitante.

IN A HANDMADE, ECOLOGICAL AND GASTRONOMIC FAIR

Algusto will have over 15,000 SM in BEC for the expositors to sell their most excellent ecological and handmade products to the more than 13,000 visitors and those attracted by BioCultura, interested in good food in a wide range of products from all over the world.

Algusto dispondrá de más de 15.000 m2 en BEC para que los expositores puedan ofrecer en venta directa a los más de 13.000 visitantes, más aquellos atraídos por BioCultura, interesados en disfrutar de la buena mesa, los más extraordinarios productos de producción ecológica y artesanal en una amplia selección de alimentos de todo el mundo.

You will also have the chance to enjoy wine tastings, cheeses, local meat and Valencian paellas, as well as workshops, top chefs demonstrations, contests of txokos and gastronomic societies, and an educational area for the kids.

Professional visitors will have entire room at their disposal to establish commercial relationships, exchange their techniques and knowledge and approach the Slow Food philosophy.

OPEN TO EVERYONE Algusto is open to the general public (gourmets, amateurs and professionals), in addition to all the responsible consumers who appreciate traditional quality products willing to develop their taste for the real gastronomic culture.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste and buy a wide range of handmade and local products from all over the world.

PROMOTED ALL OVER THE MEDIA In order to invite the general public, lovers of quality gastronomy and professionals to this delicious event, we will use as many means as possible, including advertising in the main journals and radio stations, television and different marketing actions.

También podrán disfrutar con catas de vinos, quesos, carnes autóctonas y degustación de paellas valencianas; así como con talleres, demostraciones de grandes cocineros, concursos de txokos y sociedades gastronómicas y una zona educacional para los más pequeños.

Los visitantes profesionales dispondrán de un espacio para establecer relaciones comerciales, intercambiar técnicas, experiencias y conocimientos, y acercarse a la filosofía Slow Food.

ABIERTA A TODOS LOS PÚBLICOS Algusto está abierto a todo tipo de público en general, incluidos gastrónomos, aficionados y profesionales, además de todos los consumidores responsables que sepan apreciar los productos tradicionales de calidad y quieran desarrollar el gusto por la auténtica cultura gastronómica.

Los visitantes podrán degustar y comprar gran variedad de productos artesanales y autóctonos de ámbito internacional.
