VARSITY HEAD COACH

JACKIE ROBINSON

Coach Robinson is in his fourth year of coaching at Olympia High School, and his 13th year coaching girls’ basketball. Coach Robinson played college basketball, finishing his college career at The Evergreen State College. He then played in the semi-pros in Europe for three years. Before coming to OHS, he coached at River Ridge and Timberline High School. Coach Roboinson is from Mobile, Alabama, and has lived in Washington for 18 years. He and his wife Kelci have two children (and future Bears).

DUSTIN WORKMAN

Dustin is a 2000 graduate of Mossyrock High School and a 2006 graduate of Central Washington University. After high school, he began coaching as a C team boys’ coach at MHS before joining the staff of the Ellensburg High School boys’ program while attending CWU. After graduating from college, he returned to Mossyrock coaching JV boys two seasons before becoming the head basketball coach in 2010. During his four years as the head coach at MHS they made the regional game three times, and the state tournament his last season, placing 6th in state. Since then Dustin has been coaching an AAU boys program out of Chehalis for the past 4 years. Dustin also enjoys, fishing, trying to golf, and spending time with friends and family.

TAYLER FETTIG

Tayler graduated from Olympia High School in 2011, playing varsity basketball since her sophomore year. She attended Central Washington University where she received a degree in Physical Education &School Health in 2016. At CWU she participated in basketball and received a scholarship for track & field. She is a substitute teacher with the Olympia, Tumwater and North Thurston School Districts. She also leads youth at the Church of Living Water which she considers a huge blessing. ”I’m so excited to work with these young women and help them grow into the athletes that they are capable of being!! GO BEARS!!”

JAMES CHANDLER

Coach Chandler has been coaching for 20 years, and this is his fourth year with Olympia Girls’ basketball. Prior to coming to OHS, he coached for the North Thurston School District. Chandler is originally from Tennessee and has lived in Washington for 31 years. Chandler has been married for 37 years. He has two adult daughters and five grandchildren. As an Oly girls basketball coach, Chandler likes the great attitudes the Oly girls bring every day and how coachable they are.

SAM DURANCEAU

This is Coach Sam’s first year with Olympia High School. Sam is very excited to be part of the girls basketball program. Sam played basketball and graduated from Rochester High School. She has worked one on one with kids K-12 to develop skills and knowledge of the game. Sam has been married to her husband for three years now, they share a home in Rochester and enjoy traveling.

SENIOR Biographies BEKAH BRADSHAW FAMILY: Parents Julie & Pete, Sister Maddie, Brothers Jake & Tucker.

WHAT OLYMPIA BASKETBALL MEANS TO ME: It means commitment. You are making a commitment to yourself, your coaches and your teammates that you’re giving 100% every day.

WHAT IS YOUR PREGAME ROUTINE? Besides going crazy and getting hyped in the locker room, we always set team goals to get focused and mentally prepared for the game.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPERPOWER WHAT WOULD IT BE & WHY? If I had a super power I would choose mind reading. I always wonder what people are thinking about and it would just make everything so much easier.

BEST BASKETBALL ADVICE? WHO WAS IT FROM? Play with no fear. If you go into a game scared of your opponent, you’ve already lost. Coach Jackie & Coach Chandler.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE? If you want something you’ve never had, you have to be willing to do something you’ve never done.

FAMILY: Parents Jennifer & Terry, Brother, Will & Sister, Alexis WHAT OLYMPIA BASKETBALL MEANS TO ME: Olympia Basketball means family to me. It has been the team I grew up watching, with the players I wanted to become, and now here I am! It really has been my home for the past couple years, and I will always be so grateful for my amazing teammates and coaches.

WHAT IS YOUR PREGAME ROUTINE? My teammates and I dance in the locker room with the music blasting before games.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPERPOWER WHAT WOULD IT BE & WHY? I wish I could be super smart. It would just be really fun to know the answer to everything.

BEST BASKETBALL ADVICE? WHO WAS IT FROM? I think the best basketball advice I have received was from Coach Jackie. He said, “You always have to play like you are the best player on the floor; It doesn’t matter if you really are, but that always has to be your mindset.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE? “Well-behaved women seldom make history.”

Throughout the season we have created so many memories that I know will last a lifetime.

WHAT IS YOUR PREGAME ROUTINE? I listen to my pregame playlist which consists of rap and music from Spain.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPERPOWER WHAT WOULD IT BE & WHY? Teleportation. I would love to travel the world and explore wherever and whenever I would like.

BEST BASKETBALL ADVICE? WHO WAS IT FROM? It’s ok to make mistakes, if you don’t make any then you’re not trying hard enough – Coach Jackie.
